Not sure if this is just me but as an entp i describe my personality as seemingly calm around others (unless extremely comfortable) but absolutely CHAOTIC in my own head and by myself. I have full conversations with myself outloud i literally feel hysterical and im always giggling at my own jokes but only when im alone 😭

That's odd. I am probably calmer on my own. With others around there is a lot of randomness and can't stop myself - I readily jump into actions and conversations and I crack jokes that pop up in my head as a comment to what someone else did or said and can't stop laughing out loud at my own jokes. On my own I mostly just sit silently at my computer (my reactions to some youtube videos or what people say in online forums or news websites are just like the ones I have in real life) and I feel suffocated after a while. I need contact with the world or I get depressed.
It's so frustrating when ur constantly called "irrational" when you know for a fact that you are actually more grounded and logical than most around your because you make decisions based off of your hour long internal debate of pros and cons but the others will call us irrational because we don't blindly take orders from the establishment. I'd love to find all of you in a room together just so we can debate over everything! ❤ lol
If I remember correctly this type is the most “introverted extroverted”, argumentative, lawyer, Tyrion Lannister type tendencies, and huge devils advocates.
we argue like robots. but our feeling is our inferior function. if anything we can feel much harder than anyone else. like a baby or toddler. it'll be EXPLOSIVE. whether it's saving someone, romancing someone, or throwing a table at some pleb that accused us of not using logic. We go ALL IN when we emote. It's why we rarely bother to emote. No one can handle it. Feeling types just cry and feel about everything, but they do it so often...it's like a boring monotonous deadened thing. When we feel, it's like a drug rush.
I wish we ENTPs could all find eachother at a conference or so. That would be awesome (but yet would make us feel to ordinary, comparing ourselves with the ENTP standing next) It's sad in many ways... We're alone in many ways...
I would go to that conference, do some INFJing in the middle, wait for all of you to start ENTPing at me, exchange details with funniest male for beers, go home with most enthralling female and meld sickeningly.
Probably everyone would talk over each other and we would not be able to hear each other out, but if that conference would be recorded secretly and other types would write down all the ideas we produced, the world could change immediately.
As a female ENTP, this is video is good. When I was yonger, I was too excited about exploring the possibilities of myself. When I was in the university, I had a hard time deciding what to major. Sometimes I want to be a lawyer, sometimes I want to be a researcher in marketing, sometimes I want a career in finance. I cannot stick myself to one. Now I have gotten my bachelor degree and will go to the graduate school this year in Canada. Now I feel excited about the new country, the new city, the new university. I am pusuing master of science in statisics. I am telling myself, Canada might not be the best country for you, statistics might be the best major for you, the new city might be the best city for you to settle in. However, I feel too tired of jumping from one ideas to another. Therefore, I want to make sure myself stick to this road. If I want to be successful, I have to stick to something in the long term. So stick to this city, and I can travel on other places. Stick to this major and pursue a career in it, and I can develop something else as hobbies.
I ended up just going for my BBA because I had no idea what I wanted to do and figured it was broad enough to cover a number of avenues, I totally get where you coming from though. It's interesting that you've actually followed down a sector in the sciences. Did you choose Statistics because you see yourself enjoying it or is it because you just want to stick to something? Either way, you'll probably become a little bored and question your decision but if you're anything like me and use all your might to dedicate to something, you'll be fine. It's fucking difficult but there's nothing more rewarding than actually completing something

I love business and marketing... do I want to do a double degree and add law... do I want to do 2 majors in marketing management and consumer insights, do I want to also major in finance??? so many options!!!! And I had the same thought five years ago. Every time I came up with an idea for software, I thought that I wish I knew how to code but now it is too late to learn it. Without the thought of 'now it is too late' I would have been prepared for new ideas that came up. This probably does not make much sense to other people but the essence is that I truly believe that it is never too late. Especially if you want to follow your passion
@Raph Did you watch the video? ENTPs are hands down best coming up with original ideas, the inventors. No type is as good as Ne>Ti at brainstroming. You don't have to risk too much, we live in the the internet age where world's wealthiest man simply started out as a book broker, and a search engine (google) creates times more wealth from ad revenue than all of the American airlines combined. So try things out, whether it's creating a billion dollar mobile app or investing into capsule hotels - you can do it, even if you fail before you get to learn before you actually succeed. Make it original, niche it, and when you're ready to grow further out of it - go for it!
Oh man.....It's so weird watching a video about myself. Everything about this is true and I read up on being an ENTP a while ago and the best advice I read was "Find a workplace or job that can handle your erratic creativity." So I became my own boss in an artistic field that I love, I lack the overall patience to really sit down and draw/paint/whatever for 8 hours because my mind is constantly racing about other things(although sometimes I can hone the focus on particular things it doesn't last long), despite this I am a pretty talented artist getting as good as I have without the piles of sketchbooks I see my peer's accumulate over the years. I quit a job because of the monotonous nature of it, it killed me on the inside in a literal sense I became severely depressed. Then I figured out my state of creativity affects my mental health and that they go hand in hand, if you're reading this an an ENTP and are unhappy consider that to be a potential cause of your unhappiness and go search for a job or for some form of work that suits your creative mind.
@@hineraable Well for one you have to be honest with yourself if you're good enough to become one, once you have that. If you are good in your selected field ie do things at the quality a professional would, then start being proactive and putting yourself out there. It's all about confidence for the most part, but if you see that you aren't isn't there yet seriously just sit down and practice until you get the quality where it needs to me. Then you're fine after that, it takes a lot of hardwork but if you're willing to put in the hours for it. Do it, especially if it's what you love.
I had to show up to the office every day for a year and a half and although the work was a mixed bag of tasks and duties, it felt heart breaking without the mental stimulation and creativity that I craved. I hated having to be somewhere all day, every day, for basic pay and lack of acknowledgment. I felt so depressed at that job, but things changed immediately after quitting!

I think take the parts that relate and feel helpful and leave the rest. I’m very good at using devices, so I didn’t feel like the downside of not knowing how to turn on an oven related to me at all. However, it’s all a sliding scale and I’m not as head in the clouds as this stereotypical ENTP, but I’m close to bordering on judgement and perhaps that’s why.

Fellow INFJ here. Ex is ENTP. We had great chemistry, but the ENTP tendency to debate mixed with a lack of social tact can get draining. But it's possible, that the latter was more his personal problem, rather than one appying to the type itself.
My ENTP adopted me (INTP) as his friend a few years ago. It's mind boggling that he still wants to be friends with me. He actually thinks I'm smart enough for some reason, which makes me feel like an impostor.

As an ENTP, I can agree. I've been drawing lots of cartoons for my tech support job. Also tried to implement an Achievement system like on Steam, but quit the job before it took on. My main traits are being creative and open minded. I've got troubles deciding because I'm worried if I missed an oppertunity. I prefer to ask the unpopular questions and get the real truth in society. Some people hate me, but I don't give a shit to be honest. Being yourself is what I call being great!

That moment when you get bored at minute one LOL By the way, is it normal to get easily bored even off of creative areas like art and writing? Always after 1/2 drawings I lose interest in art whatsoever. I may consider myself really good at art, but I would never pursue a job in the creative area, since I also never like doing something that’s not in my own interest. But I love science and medicine (two fields you can discover like crazy!!) and I can imagine myself as a lawyer. To challenge my fellow ENTPs, the ENTPs are actually the true empaths, if you understand cognitive functions. ENTPs that aren’t connected to their feelings/emotions is normally because they have trauma or a natural inclination to mechanistic science.
I used to be an INTP and now I am an ENTP. Then again...when I first took the MBTI my introversion-extroversion were almost identical (back then I was just slightly more introvert than extrovert hence why my result ended as INTP). However, me, being a curious person, have retook that exam several times and have gone back and forth between INTP and ENTP multiple times (almost 50% on each, just slightly more on one than the other on each exam).

Damn...I am usually skeptical about the simple classification of personality types into categories but I felt a strong connection to description of ENTP's in this video. I have been looking into it ever since I took a personality test with my career advisor.
Even though we are scatter brained we bring life to fields that would otherwise be dead. Though it is difficult for us to find a work environment that will not suffocate our minds, once we do, we are gems to that company that they cannot function without. The amount of times I have brought to light huge red flags and wasteful habits has saved my company from going under. Very under appreciated to the corporate world. Similar to companies having HR department every company should hire ENTPs for a department of their own.

Wow! After watching the video, I can conclude that the INFP and the ENTP have many similarities. One difference lies in extroversion vs introversion of course. The second difference, is what we get excited over, and what we passionately aim to achieve.

I did not learn about the different personality types until very recently. But finally I know why I´ve always felt different. My grandfather was an inventor in the steel industry in Sweden and got lots of patents. I managed to earn a PhD in molecular biology and I had the best supervisor that just let me do basically whatever crazy shit I came up with. Now Im stuck working in a hospital lab. Work is not that fun, but I can speak 8 h a day with my colleagues in the lab about philosophy or any crazy new idea I have every day. Finally I know there are others like me out there. Thank you.
I do not know whether to trust the two tests from www.16personalities.com that both told me I am an ENTP. But my psychiatrist has diagnosed me with at least ASD, OCD and Bipolar. These three very often interact with each other and I can only assume my personality too. But regarding my personality, I am surrounded by professionals that are quick to disregard myself and my opinion whom I believe to be inept at understanding who I am and what I'm like. The amount of times I have wanted to die on the spot as someone has told me "people with Autism need routine". While that may be a common theme for many people with ASD, everyone is different, and especially ENTP's may find too much routine monotonous, boring and tedious. There may be different or multiple reasons as to why it may not be true (differs from case to case), but to be so narrow-minded and enclosed, to not think for yourself is just insulting. I often try to avoid conversing about complex ideas, hypotheses or theories unless I know with confidence the person in question has their shit nailed down, otherwise I'm gonna be pissed if someone's gonna try convince me the earth is flat or something.
I RELATE TO THIS SO DEEPLY!! I have ADHD, Bipolar and absolutely hate the monotonous, mundane or boring things in life. I often find that I want to pursue something new every 5-6 months. Of course I apply myself deeply for the time being but it always becomes tedious or no longer satisfying. I'm a Primary School teacher by profession, but I only taught for my first year then left. Teachers are amazing people for what they do, but often never want to have thought provoking, intellectual conversations. I need friends AHAHAHAHAHAHA Life of an ENTP
@@Peturr_Aoki lmao bro I gotchu in relation to only keeping something up for 5 - 6 months, I'm constantly bouncing from one project to another, often never actually finishing what I started. The only thing I've persisted with is both studying the theory behind boxing and other martial arts and practicing them myself. Martial arts is often a good subject for me, seeing as I enjoy it, also if I get bored of a particular method, I can switch gyms and go learn a new martial art. I have practiced; Boxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Defendo, and Jeet Kune Do. I think the strongest connection I can make with the ENTP type is I hear people in this catagory often play Devil's advocate, something I often do to create new ideas by attacking an existing one from all angles, regardless of my actual opinion, this leads me to making complex analogies that people find cool as fuck and makes me sound like an old wise man on a mountaintop lmao But yeah I gotchu man, I gotchu
I’m someone who does well with a routine, but suffer from routine because I hate monotony. So what I’ve discovered for me is: one, I make my routine, no one else can do that for me. Two, I make a new routine almost every week haha. But it works. So you have the control over your schedule and then you get to make that investment of what your day looks like and what kind of change you also need to cater for. I like it because it gives me structure to make sure I do things, but it gives me change controlled by me.
As a female entp I find dating really excruciatingly hard. No guy has ever lasted long enough for me to claim them as my boyfriend. I normally pick up on their major flaws right away or figure them out entirely and get bored. I’ve tried dating apps but the conversations and personality’s there are literally the clearance rack of men. It sucks not only because guys my age just want to hook up but on top of that they aren’t mature enough to have intellectual conversations. Alas I am 21 and I’ve never had a boyfriend but it’s reassuring seeing in the comments section other entps having these relationship issues as well (T_T) hopefully one day I’ll find a nice interesting guy :/

Entp is having a fight at 3am with a drunk person to the point you have to strip to prove your point, let me explain, I had an argument with a girl on how bras actually help your boobs to not sag if worn for long time periods she continued on saying how not wearing bras doesn't play any role they'll sag anyway, the 90% of the bar is with me along with 2 gynecologists admitting being bra free only benefits plastic surgeons who do boobjobs, while she insists its wrong. Long story short after she admitted on almost never wearing her bra and I admitted on wearing my bra all day even sleeping with it and we only had 2 year difference we striped to prove our point. My boobs didn't hit my knees like hers did.

Not sure if this is just me but as an entp i describe my personality as seemingly calm around others (unless extremely comfortable) but absolutely CHAOTIC in my own head and by myself. I have full conversations with myself outloud i literally feel hysterical and im always giggling at my own jokes but only when im alone 😭

That's odd. I am probably calmer on my own. With others around there is a lot of randomness and can't stop myself - I readily jump into actions and conversations and I crack jokes that pop up in my head as a comment to what someone else did or said and can't stop laughing out loud at my own jokes. On my own I mostly just sit silently at my computer (my reactions to some youtube videos or what people say in online forums or news websites are just like the ones I have in real life) and I feel suffocated after a while. I need contact with the world or I get depressed.

we argue like robots. but our feeling is our inferior function. if anything we can feel much harder than anyone else. like a baby or toddler. it'll be EXPLOSIVE. whether it's saving someone, romancing someone, or throwing a table at some pleb that accused us of not using logic. We go ALL IN when we emote. It's why we rarely bother to emote. No one can handle it. Feeling types just cry and feel about everything, but they do it so often...it's like a boring monotonous deadened thing. When we feel, it's like a drug rush.

As a female ENTP, this is video is good. When I was yonger, I was too excited about exploring the possibilities of myself. When I was in the university, I had a hard time deciding what to major. Sometimes I want to be a lawyer, sometimes I want to be a researcher in marketing, sometimes I want a career in finance. I cannot stick myself to one. Now I have gotten my bachelor degree and will go to the graduate school this year in Canada. Now I feel excited about the new country, the new city, the new university. I am pusuing master of science in statisics. I am telling myself, Canada might not be the best country for you, statistics might be the best major for you, the new city might be the best city for you to settle in. However, I feel too tired of jumping from one ideas to another. Therefore, I want to make sure myself stick to this road. If I want to be successful, I have to stick to something in the long term. So stick to this city, and I can travel on other places. Stick to this major and pursue a career in it, and I can develop something else as hobbies.
I ended up just going for my BBA because I had no idea what I wanted to do and figured it was broad enough to cover a number of avenues, I totally get where you coming from though.
It's interesting that you've actually followed down a sector in the sciences. Did you choose Statistics because you see yourself enjoying it or is it because you just want to stick to something?
Either way, you'll probably become a little bored and question your decision but if you're anything like me and use all your might to dedicate to something, you'll be fine. It's fucking difficult but there's nothing more rewarding than actually completing something

Maybe consulting of some kind would be good, I just hop in for a bit, get a rough outline of what's going on, fix a few things, then move on to something else.
@@raphaelmuller353 When I learned something in my life, then that is never too late to do something. I remember myself thinking ten years ago that it was too late to learn how to code. And I had the same thought five years ago. Every time I came up with an idea for software, I thought that I wish I knew how to code but now it is too late to learn it. Without the thought of 'now it is too late' I would have been prepared for new ideas that came up.
This probably does not make much sense to other people but the essence is that I truly believe that it is never too late.

Did you watch the video? ENTPs are hands down best coming up with original ideas, the inventors. No type is as good as Ne>Ti at brainstroming. You don't have to risk too much, we live in the the internet age where world's wealthiest man simply started out as a book broker, and a search engine (google) creates times more wealth from ad revenue than all of the American airlines combined.
So try things out, whether it's creating a billion dollar mobile app or investing into capsule hotels - you can do it, even if you fail before you get to learn before you actually succeed. Make it original, niche it, and when you're ready to grow further out of it - go for it!
Oh man.....It's so weird watching a video about myself. Everything about this is true and I read up on being an ENTP a while ago and the best advice I read was "Find a workplace or job that can handle your erratic creativity." So I became my own boss in an artistic field that I love, I lack the overall patience to really sit down and draw/paint/whatever for 8 hours because my mind is constantly racing about other things(although sometimes I can hone the focus on particular things it doesn't last long), despite this I am a pretty talented artist getting as good as I have without the piles of sketchbooks I see my peer's accumulate over the years. I quit a job because of the monotonous nature of it, it killed me on the inside in a literal sense I became severely depressed. Then I figured out my state of creativity affects my mental health and that they go hand in hand, if you're reading this an an ENTP and are unhappy consider that to be a potential cause of your unhappiness and go search for a job or for some form of work that suits your creative mind.

@@hineraable Well for one you have to be honest with yourself if you're good enough to become one, once you have that. If you are good in your selected field ie do things at the quality a professional would, then start being proactive and putting yourself out there. It's all about confidence for the most part, but if you see that you aren't isn't there yet seriously just sit down and practice until you get the quality where it needs to me. Then you're fine after that, it takes a lot of hardwork but if you're willing to put in the hours for it. Do it, especially if it's what you love.
I had to show up to the office every day for a year and a half and although the work was a mixed bag of tasks and duties, it felt heart breaking without the mental stimulation and creativity that I craved. I hated having to be somewhere all day, every day, for basic pay and lack of acknowledgment. I felt so depressed at that job, but things changed immediately after quitting!
yeah this is the only way for us. be our own boss bec if not, we gon be homeless by the time we 50 bec of constant job hopping😅

I think take the parts that relate and feel helpful and leave the rest. I’m very good at using devices, so I didn’t feel like the downside of not knowing how to turn on an oven related to me at all. However, it’s all a sliding scale and I’m not as head in the clouds as this stereotypical ENTP, but I’m close to bordering on judgement and perhaps that’s why.

As an ENTP, I can agree. I've been drawing lots of cartoons for my tech support job. Also tried to implement an Achievement system like on Steam, but quit the job before it took on.
My main traits are being creative and open minded. I've got troubles deciding because I'm worried if I missed an oppertunity. I prefer to ask the unpopular questions and get the real truth in society. Some people hate me, but I don't give a shit to be honest. Being yourself is what I call being great!

By the way, is it normal to get easily bored even off of creative areas like art and writing? Always after 1/2 drawings I lose interest in art whatsoever. I may consider myself really good at art, but I would never pursue a job in the creative area, since I also never like doing something that’s not in my own interest. But I love science and medicine (two fields you can discover like crazy!!) and I can imagine myself as a lawyer. People even have complimented me for being able to put up such great and exciting arguments slash discussions. Being an entp is honestly just amazing.

Then again...when I first took the MBTI my introversion-extroversion were almost identical (back then I was just slightly more introvert than extrovert hence why my result ended as INTP).

Even though we are scatter brained we bring life to fields that would otherwise be dead. Though it is difficult for us to find a work environment that will not suffocate our minds, once we do, we are gems to that company that they cannot function without. The amount of times I have brought to light huge red flags and wasteful habits has saved my company from going under. Very under appreciated to the corporate world. Similar to companies having HR department every company should hire ENTPs for a department of their own.

@@Peturr_Aoki Glad to hear that I have a kindred spirit. I usually switch modes depending on to whom I speak with because from my experience socializing and talking with people, they usually have some specific preference of personality (also depending on my internal motivation at that time/goals).

I’m an INFP, but I was curious about this type. Theoretically, this type is probably the one that’ll set you up to be very successful, and I came here to confirm this theory, via the comments and the video.
Wow! After watching the video, I can conclude that the INFP and the ENTP have many similarities. One difference lies in extroversion vs introversion of course. The second difference, is what we get excited over, and what we passionately aim to achieve.

I did not learn about the different personality types until very recently. But finally I know why I´ve always felt different. My grandfather was an inventor in the steel industry in Sweden and got lots of patents. I managed to earn a PhD in molecular biology and I had the best supervisor that just let me do basically whatever crazy shit I came up with. Now Im stuck working in a hospital lab. Work is not that fun, but I can speak 8 h a day with my colleagues in the lab about philosophy or any crazy new idea I have every day. Finally I know there are others like me out there. Thank you.
I do not know whether to trust the two tests from www.16personalities.com that both told me I am an ENTP. But my psychiatrist has diagnosed me with at least ASD, OCD and Bipolar. These three very often interact with each other and I can only assume my personality too. But regarding my personality, I am surrounded by professionals that are quick to disregard myself and my opinion whom I believe to be inept at understanding who I am and what I'm like. The amount of times I have wanted to die on the spot as someone has told me "people with Autism need routine". While that may be a common theme for many people with ASD, everyone is different, and especially ENTP's may find too much routine monotonous, boring and tedious. There may be different or multiple reasons as to why it may not be true (differs from case to case), but to be so narrow-minded and enclosed, to not think for yourself is just insulting. I often try to avoid conversing about complex ideas, hypotheses or theories unless I know with confidence the person in question has their shit nailed down, otherwise I'm gonna be pissed if someone's gonna try convince me the earth is flat or something.

I have ADHD, Bipolar and absolutely hate the monotonous, mundane or boring things in life.
I often find that I want to pursue something new every 5-6 months. Of course I apply myself deeply for the time being but it always becomes tedious or no longer satisfying.
I'm a Primary School teacher by profession, but I only taught for my first year then left.
Teachers are amazing people for what they do, but often never want to have thought provoking, intellectual conversations. I need friends AHAHAHAHAHAHA

@@Peturr_Aoki lmao bro I gotchu in relation to only keeping something up for 5 - 6 months, I'm constantly bouncing from one project to another, often never actually finishing what I started. The only thing I've persisted with is both studying the theory behind boxing and other martial arts and practicing them myself. Martial arts is often a good subject for me, seeing as I enjoy it, also if I get bored of a particular method, I can switch gyms and go learn a new martial art. I have practiced; Boxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Defendo, and Jeet Kune Do.
I think the strongest connection I can make with the ENTP type is I hear people in this catagory often play Devil's advocate, something I often do to create new ideas by attacking an existing one from all angles, regardless of my actual opinion, this leads me to making complex analogies that people find cool as fuck and makes me sound like an old wise man on a mountaintop lmao

I’m someone who does well with a routine, but suffer from routine because I hate monotony. So what I’ve discovered for me is: one, I make my routine, no one else can do that for me. Two, I make a new routine almost every week haha. But it works. So you have the control over your schedule and then you get to make that investment of what your day looks like and what kind of change you also need to cater for. I like it because it gives me structure to make sure I do things, but it gives me change controlled by me.

As a female entp I find dating really excruciatingly hard. No guy has ever lasted long enough for me to claim them as my boyfriend. I normally pick up on their major flaws right away or figure them out entirely and get bored. I’ve tried dating apps but the conversations and personality’s there are literally the clearance rack of men. It sucks not only because guys my age just want to hook up but on top of that they aren’t mature enough to have intellectual conversations. Alas I am 21 and I’ve never had a boyfriend but it’s reassuring seeing in the comments section other entps having these relationship issues as well (T_T) hopefully one day I’ll find a nice interesting guy :/

Entp is having a fight at 3am with a drunk person to the point you have to strip to prove your point, let me explain, I had an argument with a girl on how bras actually help your boobs to not sag if worn for long time periods she continued on saying how not wearing bras doesn't play any role they'll sag anyway, the 90% of the bar is with me along with 2 gynecologists admitting being bra free only benefits plastic surgeons who do boobjobs, while she insists its wrong. Long story short after she admitted on almost never wearing her bra and I admitted on wearing my bra all day even sleeping with it and we only had 2 year difference we striped to prove our point. My boobs didn't hit my knees like hers did.
