    R6 user here - I've done 2 seasons with it, and had the chance to use a monitor for a commercial shoot, and it's a gamechanger. I'm rigging my camera out for next wedding season for sure, since I experimented with handheld style last year and really liked the freedom it gave me on the day, but found I needed more weight, and a bigger monitor to actually see what I'm shooting.

      Well, I got basically this whole kit, but sadly I can't use the remote trigger for video recording on the R6 - it only triggers the camera shutter button - so exchanged it for the wooden side grip - no biggie since I plan to upgrade to the C70 later this year anyway! Have you had any trouble trying to load in your LUTs? I've tried loading in the WIR LUTs on the monitor, and it just won't read them - it will read the Canon Log transform LUTs though - maybe it's because they're not "3D LUTs"? Any Idea on that?

    Nice man! I love that setup. I use something similar. I always use one cam on a gimbal and the other with a cage and monitor. The monitor completely changed the game for me. It helps SO much with exposure and being able to use luts as a preview is amazing. Before I didn't really think handheld all day was viable. After watching your films I really loved the organic feel handheld gave to the story. Its super awesome to be able to change it up and experiment to keep it fresh and not get to burnt out creatively. Thanks for all you do man!

    Just one thing, you should think about using the smaller model for the screen battery, a friend of mine litteraly teared in two his screen because of the weight of the battery. :)

      @@WaywardNorth does the Manfrotto 500AH have a safety lock preventing your camera from falling off. I know it has the Knob on the right to tighten the plate but is there something else to secure the camera from falling.

  • @ST-fl5fy

    Funny I saw your video on the R6 MKII early today and was going that direction. I know the A7IV doesn’t shoot 60fps in 4k it’s dropped but doesn’t it shoot 4k full frame at 30fps and 24fps? The mkII doesn’t have any video restrictions anymore like the R6.
    Also can you tell me regarding the eye AF and tracking how they compare?
    Lastly, is the Sony footage easier on the NLE using XAVC SI?

  • @langilledylan
    @langilledylan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you like the crop with shooting 60fps? It’s the only thing stopping me from getting one. Until then I’m holding out for the FX3 but at almost half the cost, is it a nice option?

    • @WaywardNorth
      @WaywardNorth  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually prefer having a small crop factor in the A7IV. For instance my second shooter uses the 50mm which is about an 85mm while I use the 24-70 on the A7Siii. This helps get those nice tighter angles for additional angles. Ceremony, I use the 24-70 on the A7IV so it turns into a 35-105. So, for me I am using the crop to benefit with what I already have. I am really impressed with this camera so far!

    Hey! Im trying to do hybrid shooting and planning to build a rig like this to do video and photo at the same time. So i’ll only use one camera. Do you think it would work to take photos as well? Or the buttons are obstructed because of this cage setup?

    • @WaywardNorth

      @@WaywardNorth hi Waynard! Quick question pls!
      If without the side handle for the record button. Will the record button and shutter button still accessible for hybrid shooting? Just cause im thinking if i use the side handle, it’ll be difficult for me to shoot using the shutter as the side handle will be on the way?

    • @WaywardNorth

    Might be a dumb question, but I purchased the Feelworld F6 Plus and am confused as to how this plugs into the a7siii. It came with an HDMI to micro USB cable and then an HDMI to Micro HDMI, but it seems as if the cable needed would be just HDMI to HDMI, am I correct?
