- It was a wet morning, but since the MX5 was already there, it seemed a good time to check it out on a wet road.
The Jinba Ittai part of Mazda came to the forefront and the MX5 shone all the way to the top.
Coming along as a passenger is my friend Sam, who is looking at buying a sports car for himself - and this is his first experience of riding shotgun in a car driven by me - and one of his few experiences of going up Gentings, ever. Hope you enjoyed yourself, Sam. And yes this is one great little sports car you can keep for a long time.
Please enjoy the video and don't forget to like share and subscribe. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Splendid drive 🎉. Love the Mazda....
Finally see uncle YS driving my dream car!! Such a fun car to drive
That's what I call under control.
Excellent effort.
Enjoy the ride.
Thanks, YS.
Most welcome and thank you for supporting us.
I always love to see how uncle driving up to Genting
Rear wheel drive At the hands of YS Khong..Yup it's A Mazda MX-5..A moment to remember
Finally, Sam is sitting beside you as the co-driver going up to Genting 👍
Great to see Uncle going topless! My dream car too!
But I guess I am not as sexy as the car, hahaha.
Great pro driving uncle YSK.. Mx-5 is nice, well, Mr. Sam ada sikit suspense feeling.. heee heee, me watching too... Terbaik👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hahaha
Uncle can see better than a 25yr old
He needs more credit then that ;) he has way better driving reflexes and such then a 25 year old 😊
What a drive❤
I love Mazda MX5. ❤
thank you for this video... i miss the sound of my mx5
He's a nice person, he even replied my whatsapp and answer question very politely regarding my opinion to own a 2nd hand Mazda 3 sedan.
Even looking at the side of your face, I can see Uncle YS smiling!
Yes, this car does bring on a lot of smiles.
Uncle eyesight is damp sharp 😊
Damp is right
The miata is a lot of fun for sure. A little sketchy in the wet due to the short wheelbase but nothing uncle can’t handle. More performance limits to be had with some mild mods, but not necessarily more fun
Keeping it stock is enough fun for me
@@YSKhongDriving yes can’t complain much in stock form, but I find Miatas for each generation generally under tyred. With just a little bit more tyre, less braking is needed and one can stay on WOT a lot longer.
Nevertheless, great drive!!
Uncle with your great driving, I believe mount another gopro at the front bonner or car top (see bones view with street) should be more trilling view
Couldnt mount front cam because bonnet is aluminium
Oh I mean other cars that you driving, not just mx5... it should feels like Need For Speed view
😍😍👍👍👍
Great drive .. i always wanted to know how a MX5 handles.. it seems Uncle tamed it well...
Thanks for always supporting and giving positive cimments. Happy new year, Chun Kit
No heels and toe video this time 😅.
This wet condition with uncle driving, my heart sure jump out the roof....
Not many manual sports car left now. MX is best choice for now...besides 86
No space to mount camera
do you feel that the clutch pedal and the footrest is a bit too near to each other?
It wasnt a problem for me, and I wouldn't have thought it until you mentioned it. May be size of feet matters, or maybe your shoes are thick. I actually use W sized shoes, still was okay for me.
Hi Mr khong how about the 2024 Subaru crosstrack, did you test drive before?
Nope, unfortunately.
If memory serves me correctly, you have now driven both the soft-top and now the RF MX-5. Looking each of them from the perspective of a weekend, top-down, cruising car, which one would be your pick?
The RF has a retractable hardtop so is very convenient, all done with a press button: I would go for that, but it is not important. To open the soft top is just a few seconds manually so it is okay by me too.
How about noise and wind levels? Better with RF or soft top?
Does the car feel abit lethargic at higher altitude? Im guessing the Peugeot can keep up due to its turbo engine
The Peugeot has a turbo and is fwd; so can corner in the wet better.
From Italy ( Rome ) i ask gently a tip. I got the same mx5 rf. I need to change tyres. Any suggestion for my car? 215/45/17. Pleaseeee
The car I drove is fitted with standard tyres and they are great.
Hi Uncle, what car do you prefer between the current mx5 and Toyota 86?
Can I have both?
@@YSKhongDriving of course sir 👍 we will know they are driven well
@@YSKhongDrivinguncle pleaee anwwr this question . i’m 21 and am looking to make my first purchase but i’m stuck between the rf miata or the new gr86. please advice 😅
Uncle should have drift a bit...wet road with rear wheel drive 😅
Drifting makes the car slower. I had two fast cars chasing me from behind.😊
How is this compared to GR86?
Very close- this one is light and agile, and is retractable roof. Both are great cars.
@@YSKhongDriving Thank you for the insight 🙏
186cm person can fit into mx5?
Yes you can.
first
Uncle YS, how is the smile factor for this car?
Very high. It was most enjoyable and satisfying. This time I was able to stay ahead of my two fast friends in their turbocharged cars due to the additional power, the lighter weight and the superb handling
it's crazy to me that it's the norm in your country and you're able to just switch between passing and slow lanes in a mountain road (or any road for that matter) and not have cops waiting to tag and pull you over for "reckless driving" ... too many idiot drivers in the US who don't understand passing lanes that would actually be aware of cars around them before switching lanes. so sad...
Come and live here
what tyres?:)
Whatever came with the car.
@@YSKhongDriving ok
Uncle video sisi belakang xda 😢😢😢
Oh? I cuba cari - mungkin ada
Japan car is best
No omg handle hehe
Hahaha, very true.
Do like the car but the tyres always look too small and skinny...
They're 215s, good enough to grip and narrow enough to break traction to make it fun to drive
Stock should come with Bridgestone Potenza 205/45/17 on both standard and BBS trim.
