  • At first I had two problems with this Habu. The first issue was a faulty ESC and the other I didn't have enough elevator pull. With an Avian 45A instead of the stock Avian Lite it now works fine.
    I fly mine on 3s 2200mAh battery and Spektrum NX10
    Wing spann: 700mm
    Length: 775mm
    Weight: 600 grams

      Thanks! It was faulty right out of the box.

    I like how it flies on 3S, but people on RC Groups say its really great on 4S with the upgraded ESC.

      I guess one have to do smaller 4s batteries to make it fit. It is tight as is inside.

      If you’ve already replaced the ESC you should be good to go with 4S. I put an Avian lite 45amp in my 50mm Habu. I use the Spektrum 4S 1800mah smart batteries pushed all the way and hand launch/belly land only. I did also set my throttle to a 95% rate to avoid cut outs at 100% that I would occasionally get. It’s phenomenal on 4S, try it..!!

      I don't use anything other than my 4s 2200mAh batteries but who knows I might give 4s a go in the future! @@howiedenton2709

      The Spektrum 4S 1800mah smart battery is, I think, the perfect battery for quite a few planes. E-Flites 50mm Habu and 850mm Pitts. The Arrows 50mm edf jets. Definitely worth trying one if you’re looking for more power and less weight.

    I agree with you, regarding bush/STOL planes being more enjoyable to fly than EDF's. I believe it has a lot to do with my flying spots. They're tight and rugged areas, nearby my home, usually with a small parking lot surrounded by trees, etc. I bet I'd like EDF's more if I were flying a large open area.
    Thanks for the video. Great flying 👍

      To me the instant prop push and constant throttle management is what really make prop planes so mush more fun to fly. More so than location.

    Hi. Great video, thank you. Can I please ask if you used the Avian 45amp (3S-6S) or the Avian 45amp Lite (3S-4S)? I’m using the latter and have found that the cable length for the IC3 battery is very short. It’s not long enough to cross over the servos without causing interference with them. My only option is to run an IC3 extension lead and tuck the excess wire in the back of the fuselage which is already very tight.
    The cable lengths look the same between both versions of the Avian 45amp ESCs. How did you fit yours without any issue?

    • @SunriseRCAviator
      @SunriseRCAviator  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's so tight inside and first I tried an Avian 30A but the battery cable was to short so I replaced it with an Avian 45A (regular not lite) and now it is just long enough but still very short. At least it works but on many different aircrafts I have, the short Avian battery cable can be an issue.

      @@SunriseRCAviator thanks for letting me know. I think I’ll run an extension IC3 and see how that works. I am having a little issue with the reverse thrust set up. I could do it fine with the stock Avian lite 30amp ESC but with the new avian lite 45amp ESC, it doesn’t want to move past step one (using an NX8 transmitter). Did you have any problem setting reverse thrust for your new Avian ESC?

      @@SunriseRCAviator I’m afraid this hasn’t worked either. I’ve already tried it but to no success. Currently emailing HH for tech support although they aren’t being entirely helpful.

    Just completed the maiden flight this morning and I had the same ESC issue mid flight. It only happened once then continued as normal. It wasn’t the case yesterday when I was setting it up and testing the ESC & ducted fan performance over long bursts whilst stationary.
    Can I please ask if you notice any difference with AS3X on? With my other HH/E-Flite planes, you can hear the servos twitching but with this Habu SS 50mm, you hear nothing at all.
    I have the NX8 and forward programmed SAFE & AS3X on. SAFE definitely works but AS3X is a no show, at least for me.

    • @SunriseRCAviator
      @SunriseRCAviator  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      AS3X is always on but I don't think this is the issue. If the problem comes back I think you need to swap ESC to a working one.

      @@SunriseRCAviator thanks for your quick reply. Yes, the ESC may need swapping out so I’ll speak to my local hobby shop who I got it from or contact Eflite for warranty to swap it.
      Sorry I didn’t word my original post earlier. The AS3X isn’t anything to do with the ESC, yes. What I meant to ask is a separate issue … do your servos twitch with AS3X mode on?

    • @SunriseRCAviator
      @SunriseRCAviator  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JeiramJeyaratnam You need to get throttle to go up a bit before AS3X kicks in sometimes and then it moves servos to compensate for wind push or such external impacts on the gyro

      @@SunriseRCAviator thanks for your response. Yes, even with over 25% throttle (which is what activates SAFE and AS3X) I still have no micro servo adjustments when on AS3X mode. SAFE mode works fine though. All forward programmed correctly on the NX8.

    Great video but nobody is ever going to fly that plane like that. It wasn't made to be a 3d plane. Circles loops and rolls, thats how they designed it.
