Oh my gosh!! Sitting in my daughter's car and this song came on through her phone. I was like....hold up!! I know this song!! I use to listen to it when you were a kid I said. No wonder it spoke to me, she replied. Seriously the thousands of songs I've forgotten 😔 how happy I am to find it.
Remember listening to this on Cassette in my vw Polo whilst travelling from Glasgow to Fort William through Glencoe. It was like an emersive experience which emphasized the beauty of the scenery I was travelling through. Music can occassionally do that
This whole album is a masterpiece nowhere near as known as it should be, each time I listen im sure I hear something new... there are so many different layers to each of the tracks but I think storm 3000 is my favourite.
The stereo production is breath taking. If I ever want to test a stereo sound system or set of new headphones, this is the album, and in particular, this song, if it doesn’t sound amazing, then the product isn’t.
This is definitely the trip to space song, looking through the window at the pure deep blue oceans, the peace & serenity of that thought would be an awesome experience, who else agrees ❤
Same. Got me into electronic music at 13. Sneaking out my window to listen to it on my cd player on Brighton beach. Not a soul around then. Just the seagulls which are echoed in this track x
Every so often I come back to this album and remember in my opinion it is the best electronic album of all time. Myself and many friends were just obsessed with Leftfield , every release was ground breaking.
I bought the CD for this album when it came out and it’s been in my work van ever since, it is without doubt the best album of its genre ever made, pure genius. I’ve been listening to it when driving from job to job every workday for more than 25 years now and can not find fault with it.
The 'Tourism' version is class. Saw Leftfield last year, in Newcastle. When they played this I almost cried. Finally got to see Leftfield! Hope they come back up here!
Once heard there is no going back ,pure genius ,light years in front of the pack...the album will out live all of us and provide such pleasure for future generations to come !
most of the other uploads of melt are over saturated, i'm surprised that other listeners don't notice. you can hear the oversaturation on other uploads even on cheap headphones. this upload just sparkles, amazing difference in quality.
One of my bucket lists was to see this perfomed live and I did last year in Newcastle. It was the most magical thing I've experienced in such a long time. Thank you.xx
Anything off leftism sends me straight to a certain feeling, right back to being a teenage. Bit anxious, and expectant and having my mind blown at this beautiful music. I was later to discover it’s a great comedown album too
Such nostalgic memories. I used to go out with a girl 20 years ago, who, whenever hearing me play this would say "Bleep bleep blop" in my ear (she was not a massive leftield fan to be honest). I hated her for it at the the time. You don't fucking "Bleep bleep blop" leftfield. But now, looking back on it, I will never forget those days...
@@_4200h It does, Clearly go "Bleep bleep blop", but that is not the moral of the story! The point is neither you, nor anybody else for that matter, has the right to sing "Bleep bleep blop" in my fucking ear when I'm stoned and trying to chill out to Leftfield !!! :) Unless you're my ex :) or maybe a nice random person who appreciates Leftfield :)
Have listened to this song 1000’s of times, mostly stoned!!. Sounds different every time but always amazing. Best track of, arguably, the best album ever. Miss Leftfield
Around mid 90s a 3 x CD was released: Cafe Mambo - Cultura Ibiza. The second CD was called "mellow". It contains brilliant tracks like Underworld's Dark & Long (Thing in a book remix), Orbital - Belfast, Sueno Latino, Water From A Vineleaf, Smokebelch II, Audio Deluxe - 60 seconds (plus others) and ends with Leftfield - Melt. It is unquestionably one of the best vibe CDs I've ever heard. It's just so well put together. Find it, buy it, love it! The other 2 CDs aren't bad either ;)
Its great how a tune/piece of music transports you back to the time of its inception. I can see rhis style of music being used in a church setting in the future. Maybe be an alternative Hymns in some way. Just a thought 😊
Music that slides into your soul, stays there until the day you die, every time you listen to any of leftfields music, you live it,be it 25 years ago or now 2023,the only music you can make love too,💋
Couple of big bumpers of Black Bush and a few wee red wines, eyes closed and just chilling to every note. A tune that was a game changer in its day. Still better than most new stuff....
Thus far this BANGER of a tune will live forever in my heart MELT is the best ever and my mates love it as well this is the only song we listen to really
This has to be one of the best double CD albums I've ever had. I'm not sure Leftfield were aware of how much of an impact and how timeless this would become.
So viele erinerungen kommen zurück damals in meiner jugend ein Wahnsinns album In den schweizer Bergen gelebt. Geht raus hört des in der Natur an Leute
Grew up I'm the 90s turned 15 in 2000...feel lucky I grew up in the generation I did....the world's went to shit since and tech took over young minds...we grew up free with great tunes in the background
Was anyone at Bluedot when Leftfield played the whole album live with all those amazing psychadelic backdrop video projections? ...quite something tbh. I heard a story when they first toured the album the bass was so thunderous they got blamed for structurally damaging one building they played in .... amazing ...
Probably one of the best artists of EDM in the 90s. Super album - this is a very nice track with that reverbed trumpet making the hairs on the back of one's neck stand on end... But, I think Afro Ride was my favourite track by messrs Barnes and Daley.
Anyone remember a UK documentary around late 90s/early 00s that used this track. Documentary followed some council estate children around The track was very fitting to the whole feel of the show.
@@marthamydear5869 Wow. Many thanks. I've spent a long time looking for that documentary. I've just started it and it hits different now that I have two kids myself. I'm sure there was a follow up to these kids but memory is hazy.
It was also used - really well, like most of the soundtrack - in a BBC (I think) made-for-TV movie called Loved Up, starring a few young actors who went on to be famous: Lena Headey, Jason Isaacs, Danny Dyer. Kind of like a less light-hearted precursor to Human Traffic. Worth a watch if you can find it.
25 years on and this still sounds like it's from the far distant future just like it did 25 years ago! Phenomenal tune!
Great words! Cant find such wild and bump sound!
Wonderfull so lovely
lfo lochness is same
INDEED IT DOES.AWESOME
Absolutely with you on this track
This song is a masterpiece. I love the entire album.

Best track on the whole album.
Track is timeless 💙 2024!
Remember listening to this on Cassette in my vw Polo whilst travelling from Glasgow to Fort William through Glencoe. It was like an emersive experience which emphasized the beauty of the scenery I was travelling through. Music can occassionally do that
That would have been incredible, there is no medium even close to music, and when it hits your soul it hits your soul, fantastic!
This whole album is a masterpiece nowhere near as known as it should be, each time I listen im sure I hear something new... there are so many different layers to each of the tracks but I think storm 3000 is my favourite.

Used to come back from clubbing in the late 90,s early 2000,s at six in the morning. Put this track on and slowly wind down.

Same here.
Or portishead.
Same!! 👌😜
Didn't we all! Actually still do!
25 years right in your face!!!Timeless tune.
This track almost makes me want to cry....it’s so beautiful.x
I do everytime i hear it ❤
You're not alone ...
Who is your sister?
This is what happens when you give creative people the time to work on stuff. No pressure to turn out hits but they go on and create timeless music
Hey!!! Listen to the whole album!! What a trip from the past!! So happy right now seriously!!
This song makes me miss the 90s☹️
Travelling around Oz. Deffo! xxx
me too 😥👌🏼
Cheer up Luke, if you're like me, you can get off your nut on coffee these days.
Among plenty of reasons to miss the 90's

Time stands still, when you hear that tune. Words couldn't describe my feelings … this music is a own language. Magical masters leftfield …
Title says it all. Just melt. Timeless.

The best chill out dance track from the 90's bar none. Epic doesn't do it justice.

Indeed.
The Leftfield-Legend, they blew the roof off Brixton Academy, via sheer volume....bits of plaster falling from the sky
Was there .that system was mental
They used to play this as you landed at belfast from stranraer many years ago.
Should have also played Belfast by Orbital...
My summer tune
For me it's more like a track for running on a rainy day or best in the early morning winters. But yeah could be a cool summer track too
I was 9 in 1994 and this tunes stuck in my mind like nothing else long before I had preferences in music...it hit my young soul
Still being played in 2087👍 must be about 75 years old, I just bought a copy for 12 intergalactic credits 😉
Stunning every time. What an amazing piece of work from a fabulous album.

One of my favourites from the album, which is a superb work of art in itself
I'm still introducing this beautiful work to people of my age (I'm 62) they are in Aura.. No idea about this ... It takes me to happy place..

A music from the past A music from the future. The album a masterpiece. Matt the Siouxsie fan
Fat chilling beats car windows down in summer bass on max, cruise control set high, you know the drill
Best mellow track ever AND the best thing I know of for testing the stereo of your headphones or home set up.
Remember the acid days listening to this tune, great times never to be had again
Omg!! I lived for this album!
best leftfield track of all time?
Haven't heard this song in years. Brings back such wonderful memories of moving to Austin in the early2000's. Shame is has gone to hell since.
Oh my! The memories ❤
its 2023 and yes its still sounds like its from the far distant future and what a beautiful future it would be
i'm pretty sure this was the soundtrack to living and growing videos when i was at primary school
Leftism a masterpiece. Capolavoro!
This is the piece of music you play when you want to test a sound system…
Ah so many hazy memories of listening to this for days whilst high on XTC. A true masterpiece of an album
Saw them at Margate this past weekend. Completely speechless. Their understanding of sound was so evident, even on a terrible soundsystem 🤯
Timeless ..
Melting into this brain massage...
The perfect come doon tune 💯
I m 99 old..and i forget everything ..maybe i already listen this..but this is amazing...again?
