_Ce Matin La_ -- also from this album -- is my favorite song of all time. It's not even music in the mundane sense. It is the singing of the angels. It is the sound gravity makes when it collapses into a black hole. It is the sound of love making love to itself. It is beauty transcending its own boundaries. It's music, but it always gets me talking grandiose bullshit about how much I like it. And btw, it was on the 'Virgin Suicides' soundtrack, but it's easy to miss. While I was sighing wistfully at Kirsten Dunst, it was playing, so I missed it several times.
It's pure brilliance and so tome tested. I first heard Moon Safari back in 1998 and instantly fell in love and still jam out to it frequently to this day.
I’m here in Africa on my holiday and it’s teaming with heavy rain. So beautiful and comfortable with this song and me sitting outdoors with my love. Asante Sana ❤
First heard this brilliant track back in the 1990s in a coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Absolutely blew me away, soon as I got back to UK bought the album. Still absolutely love the album. This track in my top 30 of all time.
It's 2023 and I'm afraid I just now heard this song while listening to Pandora - I love it!! As a former bass player, this bass tag line is so well done ...
I was an over the road trucker and got a Pandora subscription as a present. Was listening to the Coldplay program, and the lead singer listed this song as one of his influences. Found them and this song and drove through South Dakota on a dark winter night, listening to this track over and over again. That's the memory this song brings
My sweet ex-wife bought me this one for my birthday. We have two wonderful daughters ❤️ as a consolation and memories of our lives when it was a great dream of ours.
I have so many memories wrapped up in this one song alone…good and bad times in the late 90s. Every time I hear it, the memories come flooding back. No better chill out music ever. It also was used in the classic ‘99 film “Go” when they smoke pot and set the Vegas hotel room on fire. Good times.
I have loved this song for a long time but hadn't listened to it for a long while, til my friend Terry shared it during summer. We hung out smoking and drinking, listening to good music, talking shit and laughing. Part way through September he got seriously ill out of nowhere and died a week later. Since then I have listened to this track most days and it's always going to be a reminder. Make the most of your time with the people around you, you never know when it's gonna run out
I feel for you loss mate , I lost my mum this time last year suddenly, this song I listen to with mixed emotions some sad but joy at the same time if you can understand. Sorry for you loss life is so precious ❤
Awesome!!!! This album was/is so huge 4 me.. When released I heard on Detroit college radio great late night show of WDET Liz Copeland Warner, wrote down the title and purchased.. Played the entire album one night for Rodriguez of Searching for Sugarman '99 while we traded doobies, he was floored and thanked me immensely.. I could tell it gave him energy and hope.. That year I was also artist in residence at Buffalo River national park in northern Arkansas for a month and a half.. Amazing experience in the mountains and pitch dark more stars than I had ever witnessed in my life and we have a cottage in northern Michigan wilderness.. This was beyond that!! The milkyway was dazzling and stars like at our cottage left you dizzy.. I did a lot of night driving in my Crimson Ford Probe which was in great shape.. Speeding through the night mountains, windows down blasting this album and more.. My gf's at the time we would have sex over and over to this album... so much beauty THANKS

This track is the closest thing to meditation for me. It brings me such an awareness of the present moment, and still makes me feel floating in the universe, travelling to the unknown, sure it will be so surprisingly good!
I can never truly relax with this one because it transports me into an imaginary position of an ideal moment in my life, which I will probably never achieve, and I actually get sad.
It is a soundtrack for a situation where the heart is beating quickly, a type of dodgy looking over the shoulder deal in a dangerous environment!, I'm sure this must have been used in the movies somewhere?

It wasn't until I looked at the comments on here that I thought back to when I first used to listen to this track. The year 2000, all through the 6 months I spent travelling down the Atlantic coast of Europe in my clapped-out surf wagon, board strapped to the roof, catching waves at all the iconic breaks and working in the vineyards, until finally I arrived at Peniche, Portugal in late November through December. Big waves at that time of year! But I was young and adventurous and I'm so thankful I got to do that! Great people, and great memories and this wonderful track brings it all back.
I still vividly remember the very first time I listened to this song. In 2007 I was in NL on a scholarship. It was a late afternoon of mid October. It was already dark and a bit rainy outside. The colleague working in my same room asked if I minded if he played some music, and I said go ahead. He put on this album. After a while I asked him who they were, I had never listened to them. It was magical. I instantly fell in love with them. After all these years this is still one of my all-time favourite albums.
Wow, Moon Safari by Air is an absolute masterpiece! 🌙✨ This album takes me on a blissful journey through dreamy melodies and ethereal soundscapes. The combination of electronic and organic elements creates a unique sonic experience that is both soothing and uplifting.
This track tears at my heart, as it was partners and mine regular listening on the weekends when it came out. We are not together anymore & it makes me sad remembering the ‘good times’ just hanging with her.
In case y'all missed it, the live version of this from their recent Moon Safari anniversary tour is incredible. Nicolas Godin is one of the most underrated bass players out there, and they reworked this track into something even more special than it already is. It kicked everyone's arses; they sounded like a *rock* band and that was such a treat. They have a lot more to offer than this early chill out iteration and I hope y'all go check out all the other fantastic music that they're still making. Xo

According to Spotify data, by 2020, this was my most played tune over the previous decade…..I doubt it’s been knocked off the top spot. It’s a timeless tune…always fresh! What an opener to a classic album. Perfect track for cruising long journeys…especially as the sun is setting ❤❤❤
Might be the best song ever created
One of my favorite albums 😍
MAAAN there's something about this song that takes me to a place beyond this realm as we know it. And the crazy part is that I don't be wanting to come back.
4:00 gives me chills everytime ❤
Me too
what a bass!
