It's not all ambient, but you should check out This Binary Universe by BT. Definitely a masterpiece of electronic music. I can recommend all sorts of other incredible artists too, like Shpongle, Cosmic Trigger, Max Cooper, Animal Collective, Dan Deacon, MGMT, Beach House, Mid-Air Thief, Oneohtrix Point Never (particularly his album Magic Oneohtrix Point Never), Spirit of the Beehive, Tame Impala, Ott, Prometheus, C418, Breek, Boards of Canada, Flume, Mum... I'll stop there but I think I'd create a digital black hole putting such amazing artists all clumped together like this haha.

I listen to a lot of this type of music, and to be honest most of it isn't very good. This, however, is absolutely quality! Some of the tracks sound like they're building up to drop a typically unimaginative down tempo beat, but that never happens. Just leaves us hanging! It's not easy to make something so spacious without getting cheesy, but this is just bang on. A sublime example of the genre.
A decent PC, keyboard and some quality mixing software can produce this type of arrangement, the secret is having the creative ability to compose it in the first place, one has to unlock the mind and go on a journey beyond the barriers of our restricted existence.
now if only there was an ultra serious space sci-fi show with flawless writing and a great story with actual depth, riddled with meaningful conversations and witty banter and topics that go beyond human philosophy now that's perfection
The thing I love about internet music is that its so impermanent. You're on a lazy glide from one port to the next, I first check into this album years ago, loved it then - forgot its name and now I'm once again drifting past it on my infinite musical exploration. Its a quality I really enjoy, that is probably only made better by TH-cam not trying to be a dedicated music platform but just hosting stuff.

But so, immediately my mind goes to equator, but then I switched to meridian and it took me here. And the album's called ascendent by meridian. I laughed at how funny collective thought works sometimes.
I find myself putting this album on loop, and have been listening for days (between work and stuff of course). It's so alluring and great. I could listen to this stuff forever!

I have been looking for good ambient music at work, not too noisy to distract me, but still not too calm to make me sleepy. This is the best album I have found so far! I was always looking for some atmospheric/space-like sounds, but never found anything as satisfying as this one. Does anyone have some recommendations for similar artists?
