I think wasting Artemis as an echo fighter is a bad idea. If they wanted to make an echo of lox, I think his future form, aka mecha lox would work better. He can def have some specials changed. Her poleaxe gives her the opportunity to be a ranged melee fighter, which we don’t see in besides marth clones. Lox seems to have some honestly stubby normals besides his ftilt. I’m still watching your video but you have some great special ideas though!

The essence of a echo/clone doesn't mean that they're a waste, but more of an extra.
I can defo see her using her polearm at length, and I don't mind her being her own char. I really just want her in the game so I was just throwing out the idea of making her a clone. Since she does share quite a bit similarities with Loxo

4:37 "If I explained all the moves that Maypul can do she's gonna sound broken when she's not."
I don't know how to tell you this, but Maypul is uber broken LMAO
Anyways, this is a very interesting video, I didn't expect to see a vid on a Rivals 2 character moveset. I like the idea of Artemis taking some stuff from Loxo because it fits her character, being under his command, but I just have a really hard time imagining Artemis doing most of Loxo's normals.
And personally, I don't love the idea of Artemis inflicting fire. It just feels a bit unnecessary in her kit imo. I would much rather see her reuse Loxo's magma floor in some way, having it last longer because she can't get any charges off of it, and also having every spike into it bouncing the opponent up instead of putting them in knockdown, like with Loxo's dthrow.
I also really love the idea of Artemis getting rage. Fits the character very well and isn't insanely crazy in R2 because she also loses her ability to floorhug/cc as the percent goes up, so she also loses defense in exchange for offense which, again, makes a ton of sense. I would've really liked to see heal be a more central part of her gameplan though, as that's one of the things that I really remember about Artemis from my time in Dungeons and would potentially allow her to heal underneath the % thresholds for her buffs while still retaining them, allowing her to gain back her defensive utility with her buffs still active if you play her well. I think a good spot for it would be in her pummel special, because it creates a very interesting mindgame as it isn't strictly better or worse than her normal pummel. I like the idea of Demand being referenced in this slot, but I think giving Artemis a more cohesive kit would be for the better, even though healing could be difficult to balance as a central mechanic.
Anyways, I hope to see more videos like this in the future because this was fun to watch and think about! :3

As her weapon is longer than loxodont I think she should have extended f tilt, fair and bair, especially if she has less knockback and damage than loxodont. Also I'm not sure if Loxodont's down air would look good with her, maybe a tail whip or a "Link down air" would fit her better.
Additionaly I don't really see how dashing while rotating your axe would be a spike, that'd look weird in my opinion, but maybe making it so that it's a multi hit with only the last hitbox having a real ejection would be cool.
The fire mechanic has too many different use, it would definitely confuse people, maybe just making it dealing damage, or maybe when she hit an already burning oponent it heals her a little, making her an amazing snowball character (especially since she's a zoner so perfect to wait for the oponent to apporoach when you have the lead). Also a dragon eating her fire to regenerate would be cool.

      Thanks for your comment!
For DownAir I imagined she would use her tail or the hilt of her weapon, but it would just hit the same as Loxo's.
For Side-Special I imagined her charging forward with her weapon in a stabbing motion, and not twirling it forward.
Her eating her own fire is an interesting idea!

For the god's sake, no echo characters in Rivals please

Alot of great characters started their lives as clones/echoes (Ryu, Ken, and Akuma / Fox and Falco). I don't think they're inherently a bad thing.

@@DimzNoms i mean, no doubt, but rivals is known for having unique characters filling their own distinctive niche, unlike smash with 20 swordsmen

While I like the concept of more characters being added in echo slots eventually, I wouldn’t actually like her to be one of those
Sure, element, weapon, and faction are the same but consider that “earth element fighter that controls plants, fights with vines, belongs to the aetherial forest” applies to both Maypul and Sylvanos
You can easily differentiate between Artemis and Lox by the way they use their weapons. Rage tends to be a polarizing mechanic in these games so you can instead have a mechanic where she has specific moves that are empowered when she’s attacked DURING it. Or the ability to use EX variants of her moves at the cost of raising her percent considerably. Theres many directions one can go with her and her having a big tail and sharp teeth add to the variety of ways she can attack distinct from Lox

While all chars being wholly their own slot is preferred, if she shares similarities to Loxo I would rather the devs take the easier route to just put her in the game. She can have unique range and quirks to herself with also being a remix to Loxo's moves. Work smarter not harder.
Her using EX versions of her moves at the cost of her health is an amazing idea too!
