Gru is larger, faster, and has more technology than shrek. However shrek has some very raw brute force and an earthshattering roar. A battle between the two would come down to raw strength and stamina versus incredible speed and technology. (They both have formidable agility, but Gru is faster.)

And little do you know, it's the same power output as a Mazda 2 (a 2017 model) when it's going at its fastest (178 km/hour). Considering that a Mazda 2 takes about 20 seconds to reach that speed, we can compare it to shrek reaching a speed of 92 km/hour in about a second probably without trying, we can easily say that if shrek is trying seriously without any armor or weight to carry, his fastest speed would be between 300 km/hour and 400 km/hour, still less than half of gru's immense speed though.
btw Usain bolt generates 6,7 hp at his fastest, which means that shrek casually generates about eleven times the horse power of that of the fastest man on earth
