- Went out for the first ride on my new bike :) It's a Giant Avail Advanced. I forgot to say it's LOADS lighter than my alloy Avail (obvs) but thought I should mention it :) Happy cycling x

In regard to sentimentality towards bikes, yes. I will even admit to saying an audible 'merci beaucoup' with a tap on the saddle after every ride. Genuine thanks and gratitude for being an amazing machine and allowing for unforgettable experiences. Also grateful it gets home home safely. 🚲🚲

Beautiful bike Katie!!! I love the Liv brand. I recently purchased my first Liv bike a few weeks ago A 2018 Liv Rove urban commuter bike. I Love It! I still wanted a road bike I went nuts. Lol. I’m currently waiting for my 2019 Liv Invite road bike to arrive!!! Like you. I do not waste my money on Booz. smoking or any other garbage! My money and my heart too are in my Liv bikes!!! Keep Riding!!! Hugs!!!

You are a lot like me. People always wonder why/how I have expensive bikes. Easy, I just don't spend my money on crap. I have a felt FW75 (my first road bike), felt f65x and opus Avro 2.0 (its a mtn bike, but very light).

I've been riding a super-heavy crank-forward cruiser style bike (a Townie 7D) for the past few months. I'm up to riding it 1-2 hours on days I work and 3+ hours on days off. It is really really slow and a beast to get up hills. However, whenever I try to ride my husband's hybrid Trek I feel really unstable and my hands and wrists are hurting and going numb within about ten minutes. However, it is SO MUCH easier to go up hills on the Trek and I can go so much faster. I'm just afraid of falling on it and the hand and wrist pain gets unbearable. I want to transition to a road bike but I'm kind of terrified of riding them. The Townie is super stable and doesn't put weight on my wrists and hands. I wonder if I could get used to a road bike if I got one and gradually started riding it.

Hi Katie, Thanks for posting the vid...enthusiasm and swearing combined, awesome! Can I just ask did you fit a 10 or 11 speed 105 front Crankset...My other half has the same bike and my local bike shop said i'd have to change the chain to take an 11 speed crank? Thanks, Pete
How much more $ was this than the alloy Avail? I assume you think it was worth the price difference?

Wow you were really excited here for the carbon bike huh.. but you switched back to alloy now. My bike is an alloy but I mounted it an Aero carbon handlebar / stem / bottle cage / seatpost / saddle. The wheels are not carbon cuz the're too expensive
I baught a Giant defy aluxx last week it's awesome. how come you're not using it for commuting?

I'm looking to buy one of these and going to try one out tomorrow but previously only had a mountain bike and a hybrid but really want to get properly into riding but also do want to ride it every day just about 4 miles to and from work.I want a bike I can ride all the time, never had a carbon so would you recommend this as you don't use yours to ride to work?
