    OK I ask this question all the time..how are the wheel bearings after this time if you spin the axles between your thumb and index finger, are they smooth as silk or slightly course?

    Great video! My wife also has a Liv and is very happy with its performance and reliability. The original tires (Giant brand) were very thin and now she runs Continental Aligators.
    Which is the hill in the first part of the video?

      All of it was filmed on Norton Summit :)

    Great review! Would you ever take it on a weekend tour with a rack on it? I'm thinking about getting an Avail SL1, which would become my "everything" bike: commuting, long rides, possibly bikepacking/camping. Not sure if I should go for something sturdier like the Invite. Need a bike that can climb!

      I can't be a rack on this bike as it has a carbon frame and seat post. The disc brakes also make it difficult to find a rack that fits. When I went touring I used a bikepacking bags instead :)

    Hi Nicole, thanks for the video! I have a giant liv avail that i've been riding for maybe 6 months now. It has disc brakes and I've noticed they are quite squeaky, especially when i'm really hitting the brakes they can squeal quite a bit. I've been told it's pretty normal or that they might just breaking in still but it does make me a little nervous when riding. Have you experienced this before?
    Also do you have any tips for caring for a bike with disc brakes?
    Thanks :)

    Thanks for sharing your experience. How do you transport this bike from Australia to Thailand? I live in Sydney and interested to know.

      Hi Daniel, sorry for the late response, only just saw this. I packed in a cardboard bike box and put in foam/clothing as padding. You can of course buy bike bags for travel but they can be expensive. If you do use a cardboard bike box just make sure it's in good condition, tape it up well, and put 'fragile' stickers on it. If it arrives at your destination a bit beat up you can always get another box from a local shop for your return trip. The good thing about using a cardboard box is you can get rid of it if you have plans to go touring at your destination, whereas a proper travel bag you would have to drag around with you everywhere. Hope that helps.

    Hey Nicole, I loved this video! Where did you get the mirror that's on your handle? I have tried to find one similar online but can't! Thanks

      Hi Emma. It's called the Italian road bike mirror. Can be found here: www.italianroadbikemirror.com/ItalianRoadBikeMirrorWorldwide.html

    Did you have to get a longer chain to accommodate the 40 cassette?

    what frame size did you go for? How tall are you for reference? thanks! :)

    • @nicolemitsi
      @nicolemitsi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am 168cm. This is a size small in the women's range (they size their bikes as XS, S and M). The small is equivalent to around a 51cm. :)

    Can a man use this bike?

    • @nicolemitsi
      @nicolemitsi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The geometry is female specific, but if it's the right size I don't see why not. The equivalent mens bike is the Giant Defy btw.

    • @dzrnutrition73
      @dzrnutrition73 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found the same one you have and i'm afraid of the size
      I'm 1.76m
      What do you advise me
      Should i go for it?

    • @blizzbee
      @blizzbee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely yes. LIV is a bit more comfortable bike for a man,, geometry wise.
      For 176cm height, i would pick M size... either Avail or Defy.
