Looking at starting a solo lawn care business, soooo glad I found your videos, going to mimic your trailer just a bit smaller. Well thought out and very neat and most importantly functional.
Thanks! Glad you like it! I had to limit myself to what I was trying to accomplish with this! You could very easily spin out of control and keep adding!
Very professional Kevin. I wish you were close to us for work I'd have you working for me doing landscaping because if the quality of your work is one halve of this it's 10 times better then most of the people we have. Good job.
thanks Kevin for the ideas. I am converting my old building to dewalt battery power for LED lights. Great video. thanks for sharing and sharing the links. Ben
Great job!! I don't have Dewalt batteries, i have toro. I tried to find the toro battery holder to step down converter on Amazon but couldn't find it. Do you by chance have a link for it?
Sorry I did some looking and can't find anything for the Toro batteries, even tried to find just the batter output device and then you could wire in the step down converter! Do you know if any other brands of batteries are also compatible with the toro stuff?
@OffThePathWithKevin oh ok, thanks for checking. I can't find anything compatible for Toro. I may have to just break down and buy a dewalt battery. I do have Kobalt battery equipment also and Ryobi.
Props you you going the extra mile even thinking of the low voltage shutoff. I’m lazy would have put a Milwaukee top off on the bench and plugged a power strip in. 😂
You could go solar like the RV life..single solar panel on the roof, lithium battery connected to the junction box and there you go....A stand alone, unlimited power landscaping enterprise....Plus, you could put battery chargers in there for battery powered items if you go that route in the future. Thanks for sharing.
The system could easily be changed to run off a 12v battery in place of the dewalt and you could wire it up to also charge off the truck when towing it!
@@OffThePathWithKevin Did you consider a portable power station, like a Jackery? You could charge it from roof top solar panels. It has several output capabilities including 12 VDC and 110 VAC. That would give you almost unlimited options of what you could do with its output.
BuT this is the way to go for low voltage power. I bet this whole system is under $100 and drill batteries charge fast. Compared to trickle charging from solar. You can even connect jumper cables to the drill battery adapter which is capable of jump starting a car( not sure about a truck tho ) lol.
Outstanding, I love it. Going to do the same (kind of) in my 16’ cargo trailer. Do you have problem with the tool box drawers staying closed going down the road. Thank you for your video(s) and your creativity. Well done.
How long does the battery last? Wonder if you decide you need more power if you could put a solar panel on top and use the extra power to charge up your batteries for your tools too?
So far a 4ah battery last me a whole day of mowing! The system is set up to where I could change just a few things and run a lithium battery and I could wire it up to charge off the truck!
Awesome video I plan on using all your links to do this project and greatly appreciate all the info. But what do I need for wire? Both inside the box and to run to the lights/fans? Thanks
Great Video! Liked-Subscribed-Notfied. Please keep posting great videos like this. Thank You for posting all the product links- very helpful. Very neat and tidy wiring!
Hey! I just got mine built bit for some reason I'm not getting any power out from the low voltage cut off? I've tried playing around with the cut off voltage but can't seem to get it? Unless it's just a faulty cut off? The light saying that it's "on" doesn't even come on.
Double check your wiring to make sure it's correct! Then remove the low voltage cutoff from the circuit and see if the system works! If so the low voltage cut off is bad!
@@OffThePathWithKevin I figured it out. Made the box and I think it looks better than yours! lol. Jus pickin. It turned out great! Thanks for the video bud! Good luck in your business.
Have you ever thought as a side business to customize trailers for people? Horse trailers, landscaping, motorcycle, etc. etc etc I would pay 100-150 an hour plus materials for that kind of work easy.
Nice!!!! How long does the Dewalt battery last when your using the trailer all day? Ryobi is a lot better than Dewalt. Love the led lights. How much did all the things you bought for this project cost? Over all it looks great! Thank you
@@OffThePathWithKevindoesn’t the dewalt version of the battery clip have a main power off switch ? I have this same setup in my outhouse at my hunting property but Milwaukee and it has a master cutoff switch
I would’ve added lights that shine out the loading door, or pit lights like race trailers us that extend out the rear door when it’s opened. In my experience a lot of work goes on outside the rear of a trailer.
You certainly could add those if you wanted! For the way we use our trailer we just needed lights to see inside and to help load up if we happen to be mowing at dark!
Lol well thank so much for writing back and I would love for you to do that for me but your just to far for me I'm in ohio I can't fight know one close to me to do this the last guy i seen doing this too he was in California
What is the purpose of the terminal strip? Why wouldnt you just go directly to where you want to go? It feels liek the terminal strip is just another component that could fail? (Not sman expert, just curious)
Terminal strips are used in all sorts of places, including industrial and military applications. As Kevin said, they are a great way to make connections to multiple devices. They are reliable, safe, and easy to work with including initial installation and making changes later. I am a retired nuclear power plant worker (both US Navy and commercial) and terminal strips with crimped connections are everywhere!
It's actually very easy to grow a business nowadays! Most of the time just showing up makes you better that 90% of your competition! I go looking for work, I don't sit at home waiting for the customer to find me, I go find them!
You can add custom trailers to your business. Nicely done! Very impressive Kevin.
The thought has crossed my mind!

That was the plan make it super nice and 100% functional!
Wow! That is one fancy, decked out trailer! Great job!
Thank you!
Just short of genius Kevin! Now you're making my mind go crazy with 12 volt ideas. Awesome job and thanks for the new channel once again. 🎉

Install a fused master switch right after the battery output. You'll protect the battery and be able to kill all power when not in use. Very nice!
The battery is protected by the low voltage protection component! There is no need for a switch to kill power output!
@@OffThePathWithKevin that puts a draw on the battery to run. A master switch would let you leave a battery in all the time

Would it be hard to add shore power to this?
It wouldn't be hard and would just require a few items to make it work off both!

Can you fallow up on the wire connection for the lights them selves?
16 awg wire!
Will the led display drain the battery when not being used? I think the dewalt battery will be fine, maybe just a high amp hour. Nice job otherwise
Yes the LED display does use power even when all other things are off! So far a 4ah battery covers me for the day!

What is the purpose of the terminal strip? Why wouldnt you just go directly to where you want to go? It feels liek the terminal strip is just another component that could fail? (Not sman expert, just curious)
