I know this is a old video but thanks for sharing it, I have started taking my 3550 mahindra that has 3000 hours apart and it was nice to see this before I started on mine. I have been pleased with my mahindra so far as I said it has 3000 hours with very few repairs so far.
Instead of a slide hammer you can run a large pry bar to remove pinion IF pinion is bad you wont damage it the pry bar did not damage the old one ,lay a block of wood inside housing and lay big pry bar .Have someone tap on pinion while you pry up on tip of pinion
Btw… I run a 2019 33hp mahindra…. Close dealer and it got tier 4 emissions WITHOUT Def or regen bullshit…. All other brands had regenerate or def… I run mine old school style. Can’t say that for others.
I had the same problem with my 5010 hst. The axle seals are a bad design. Parts and labour for my fix was $3,000. Now the rear axle seal leaks. My tractor is for sale.
You must have a good parts guy. Most tractors around here are green. so not many Mahindra dealers around. Closet Mahindra dealer is 175 mil away. And most of them don't seem to want to help keep them running.
We use to have a really good parts dealer a few minutes away, but they were forced to stop dealing in Mahindra. We now have drive about 1 1/2 hours…. Still good dealer just far away.
As long as you have the tools it’s not a hard job. Everything tends to be just a little bit bigger on the tractor than an automobile. Larger sockets, wrenches, etc.
I have a mahindra 33 hp four wheel drive and on the front axle on each side just before the gear reduction at each wheel is a pivot for the steering and they both LEAK.......i watched this video in hopes of seeing that come apart. Are those common wear items?? Only 300 hours on the new tractor😳 thanks for the video fellas❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have a question for you we have a 85 p Mahindra tractor and has 250 hrs on it and I got this load ass beep beep going on and I reset the service light and thought it was the beep also . Do you have any ideas
No, as we have replaced the front end oil ourselves, usually about once a year, in face we had just bought the gear oil to change it in the next few weeks.
No, it is not, besides even if it was I doubt they would cover it has this would be our fault, we've changed the gear oil a few times, just not sure were it all went this time.
Interesting, from what I see it doesn’t look like any oil splashed about either. The rims looked dry when you took them off as well. Any cracks in the axel housing. I would think it just dumped all at once. Can’t wait to here what you find.
JD…. Over rated over priced… they break just like any other tractor. I’ve run em all…they all have their demons… I’ll take a “knock off” pos…. What ever dealer is closest I’ll take… red ,blue, green, orange…. don’t matter. Just as long as I got a dealer that helps me out. Cause I can guarandamntee you …. It’ll break!

Glad it helped
I own a 5010 and love it! No problems so far!
Same here and this was most likely a our fault.

Hi, I have a 2555 that needs front axle seals and I am going to attempt it myself. Is this a difficult task to do?
As long as you have the tools it’s not a hard job. Everything tends to be just a little bit bigger on the tractor than an automobile. Larger sockets, wrenches, etc.
What size nut was on the pinion shaft.
I'm not sure, I think we just used an adjustable wrench.

No issues here with that yet and we have close to 1000 hours I believe.

Have any experience replacing the rear axle seal? I’m stumped. I cant get the axle nut to move at all. 😫
Not on this tractor. Does it require access to the differential?
I just did my 5010had to use a big chisel to get the nut to turn. Make sure it's tight when you put it back together or it will leak again
How much gear teeth in crown & pinion
All the parts were a couple hundred dollars if I remember correctly.
Looks like it came right from factory without oil. Everything looks to clean, things would have been greasy if had any kind of oil in it.
No, as we have replaced the front end oil ourselves, usually about once a year, in face we had just bought the gear oil to change it in the next few weeks.
Wasn’t under warranty anymore?
No, it is not, besides even if it was I doubt they would cover it has this would be our fault, we've changed the gear oil a few times, just not sure were it all went this time.
Looks like she came dry from the factory. I’d look into everything, probably would replace the whole front axel.
No, as we have replaced the oil in the front end a few times, usually once per year. That's what we don't get.

why do you have mahindra if you like john deere in fs
Mahindra what kind of tractor is that
A tractor!
RDAllen sounds about right
if you is going to have problems with equipment now is the time for that 😁 although not from the money point of view
True, and true, got time to fix it, just not the money!
