Really cool video, as always. I’m glad B&O has made it until this day and still has the same philosophy - producing good looking hifi that pleases both the eye and the ear.
As an industrial designer, i adore this. As a video editor, i applause this. As a music enjoyer, i love this. Would love to have a chance working with you.
Those indicator lights have such a soft, ethereal quality to them! I absolutely love the different lights Hi-Fi systems have featured over the years (a big number of which I've learned about on your channel). Also, I can't help but appreciate how well your soundtrack fits the video's aesthetic! The lead sound is very pleasant and gives off a very unique *vibe*
I collect '70/'80 classic B&O, and this one is very beautiful, sleek and stylish, despite being an entry level system. Only technical downside IMO is the lack of Dolby B in the cassette section - AFAIR this was due to lack of space. The "analogue" green/red record-indicator is surprisingly useful in practice. Sitting with the 1977 B&O catalogue in my hands right now, the heading says: "Beocenter 1500 - For those who want to save both money and space" 🙂
@@runepedersenDK Hi, I read and noted all the technical details you mentioned and wonder about the beauty of those B&O, the Danish audio hifi. Thank you very much for your kind response!!
You make pretty pictures and sounds, and you share interesting thoughts about interesting things while showing off the pretty things you make. This is the most clever and good intentioned advertisement for a music single I have ever seen. As a person who has some understanding about the time and effort needed to make pretty things- you spend your time very well.
Beautiful set! I have a 901 myself which I use as a daily driver. When I bought it one channel wasn’t working either, I had to replace the output darlingtons and driver transistor (don’t forget it) as well as lamps and electrolytics. Easy to work on and parts are mostly readily available. Have fun with it!
I'm currently working on my industrial design degree (product design) and products like this are still to this day a major inspiration for us, so it's cool to see a video dedicated to it! During the 70s and 80s designers were extremely explorative in their design ideations, something that's making a major comeback now with the next generation of designers!
I had a B&O portable multi-band radio. It was beautiful, with sleek lines, and its FM Stereo gave fantastic high quality sound. I could pick up stereo signals from 60 Km away, with no hiss or distortion.
When I visited Finland in 1979, every middle class family had a Beosystem. My billet's parents were a bit older and they had an early 70s Philips system with the last tall-display multiband tuner. Only one family had the 1500 and I sat in front of it for almost the whole time I visited. I wish 3D design were more prevalent in solid-state electronics because ventilation is a good thing. Of course, it wasn't a big deal for audiophiles...
I still distinctly remember the B&O products my extended family had when I was growing up. My grandparents had this really elegant CTR TV with fantastic speakers on the bottom, which made the whole form factor vertical rather than horizontal. This also made it really easy adjust on the accompanying stand on top of having far superior sound to any TV today. My brother had stereo from probably the 80's that faced upwards, because it was designed to be mounted on walls rather than planted on horizontal surfaces. This made it convenient, space efficient and endlessly aesthetic. As a kid, these products were so amazingly charming in their tactile and sleek designs. Nothing was ever "just" a button, and they always felt distinct from the many other products you saw everywhere. It's always nice when a company dares to just _not_ do the same as everyone else. Be it introduce another dimension just to show off the build quality, mount a countertop product on a wall, or stretch a 4:3 TV chassis to be 1:2.
I have a bang and olufsen ouverture as a centrepiece in my livingroom in my 45 square meter appartment. A conversationstarter and a beautiful piece of tech.
Thanks, I enjoyed that. It's a striking at the same time as being functional. I have a very old Denon amp/tuner and again, it's a slab of of functional awesome (though much smaller!) without anything extra you don't need. Some designs will never age, which means they nailed it ☺️
Posy, thank you so much for your videos and the thought you put into the production. As a motion designer and someone with depression/burnout, your videos always help soothe me and spark passion in me to create.
High quality video with attention to detail! The best thing about the audio track is that you get all the royalties. Its hook sounds very similar to an old track I cannot remember now.
As always, it's such a pleasure to watch your content, I'm absolutely stunned by some of these shots and the green light on the stereo. Incredible showcase and song!
Your camera work, your music, your visuals, your narration, your voice, your jokes, the fact that you keep the pace, keep it interesting and one can feel hyped and nostalgic. Your videos are pure perfection, as always. You are a hidden gem, and you deserve waaaay more support. We love you and your work!
I came here because I absolutely loved the motion extraction video. And the second one I see is B&O. I’m still rocking a Beosystem 2300 with two Pentas. And also still have Beocenter 9500
Once I binged your whole library after watching the segmented display video (a VERY interesting video to me being a hardware engineer student), I’m convinced this channel is a part of TH-cam’s hidden gold alongside DankPods and a plethora of other channels.
Yayy new Posy! Even though it was a short one, it was as glorious as ever. Love what B&O do. They had a store in the bay area in California when I was a kid, and it was right in the era of all the CD players with the glass fronts that were motion activated. They also had a twentieth anniversary Macintosh as the store computer, which was just super freakin' cool. Cheers! 🍻
A classic Caceiver!.. That is to say, a Casette Receiver. I think B&O kept those DIN speaker plugs for a while, same with the sockets for other devices. B&O was always adapter hell if your system wasn't entirely B&O.
Bang and Olufsen gear is so cool looking! I was using a Beocenter 8000 in my hifi setup, but it died on me unfortunately, so I went back to using my Yamaha CA-610 II
I was going to look up images of this system and I ended up in a rabbit hole because all Beo... systems look absolutely crazy, they're beautiful and I want to download pictures of all of them!
Bang & Olufsen really understood aesthetics, their CRT's have debatable levels of quality, but its undisputed they had the BEST aesthetic overall and are visually well above their launch price bracket.
Found my dad’s old B&O cassette deck today. It’s not the same model as the one in the video but the design is similar (perhaps not the buttons though). I love this style of design; it’s sleek and modern, even though it’s actually 50 years old!
Posy your camera work and lighting is CRAZY HOW DID YOU MAKE SOME OF THESE SHOTS SO HEAVENLY WHAT?!??!
Lmfao
As GAWX said, "It all comes down to lighting".
The audio effects syncing with his explanation of the features of the device are perfect too.
He nails down literally everything in his videos, this man cannot be stopped
relax, relax
You should turn this "Design Appreciation" video into a series, there's so many underrated designs that need their spotlight.

Even just radios and music players, there are so many great ones. I'm a big fan of the Braun ABR 21, though it's not quite as fancy as this HiFi
NEW POSY DROPPED
I've become infatuated with this channel. The cinematography, the passion for the craft, the silly charm, the accent lol. I love it.
pozy is so good at lighting and presentation he could really make anything look good. Makes me love photography and cinematography
The subtle sound of the headphone jack being connected is such a small thing but it and the attention to detail is amazing.
I completely agree!
Really cool video, as always. I’m glad B&O has made it until this day and still has the same philosophy - producing good looking hifi that pleases both the eye and the ear.

The audio work in this was absolutely stellar. They way that the audio changed with the different button presses at 2:10 was awesome.
Seriously, the sound panning from left to right was such a simple but amazing effect!
Even with bass and treble, amazing.
Mega
Only Posy could market a 1970s stereo so well, it feels like a modern Apple ad and makes me want one.
Those indicator lights have such a soft, ethereal quality to them! I absolutely love the different lights Hi-Fi systems have featured over the years (a big number of which I've learned about on your channel).

The sound design on this is simply lovely. Excellent work.
Superb editing and narrative! 🙌🏻 And product of course amazing simply design and sound!
When I watch your videos, I feel like a child again
crazy how you can make a 4 minute video on 1 thing so entertaining
the video itself is as much of an art piece as the object shown in it, well done posy

Thank you for the explanation of this B&O model!!
@runepedersenDK What is the RMS power output of this B&O model?? Thanks for a reply!
@@janath9118 Hi. RMS/Sinus at 1kHz: 2x20 watt, 4 ohm, 2x19 watt, 8 ohm.
Peak "music" power, 2x40 watt 4 ohm, 2x25 watt 8 ohm.

솔직히 차분하고 독특한 디자인이네요

Please keep creating these videos. These are an amazing archive and display of amazing design, the objects and the videos themselves.
Your videos are truly an artistic work. I'm always rewatching over and over. Please don't stop making them.
Can't believe by the end of the video i was begging for MORE SHOTS OF THAT BEAUTY! 4 minutes does not do enough justice
We had this receiver when I was a kid ! My nostalgia hit in real hard with this video.
When I saw your new single drop on bandcamp I knew it wouldn't be long before my eyes were blessed with a Posy video. Cheers mate!

maaan you're a production and editing god! oved every minute. Not to speak of your taste in audio gear and design! thanks for sharing !
I took over one of these when my dad upgraded in the mid 80s. Right now I would so like to still have it around. :(
Even though it's outdated tech, the design is absolutely timeless.
