What I feel to understand is How they didn't just manipulate him into serving the kingdom reviving every single history strongest while finding ways to keep him captive/perma drugged so they can use him to conquer other kingdoms.

The girls from the thumbnail are different from the story, but I liked the manga. The real question is if his revenge will be upon the inocent who did nothing to him. One thing is the people who betrayed him, another are the people in the cities and villages who did nothing.
Spoiler - - - - - The encounter with the old party was a bit of a letdown. I like it when they get their stupidity rubbed in their faces, and that didn't really happen here. Sure, at least one figured out that the MC switched sides, but I doubt any of them made the connection that their country was probably going to be destroyed because they betrayed their friend.
God the healer think resonated with me so much because I’ll play as a healer in games and half the time my team will just leave me so when I play as a tank I make sure to never let the healer leave sights so managing the front lines providing cover fire and making sure my healer is save no matter where they are or how bad of a situation they are in I always put my life first for the medics because those healers just can’t catch a break
