For me it was Final Space it got cancelled after only 3 season's only got a ending through a comic and yes I do have the Blu-ray of Season 1 and 2 sadly WB got rid of all the DVD and Blu-rays and Australia with Madman no longer makes copies also I have the complete series of Gravity Falls on DVD Blu-ray copy is a couple 100 or more you can blame Disney for that.
This is one of the best videos I've seen on this website. I love physical media and I have faith that it will never disappear. I'm really happy it's been having more relevancy recently even if it's just out of novelty. I have a small collection of DVDs, CDs, Blu-Rays etc and I just love looking through my stuff. Owning the art I love is just amazing
There actually is a SpongeBob Blu-Ray containing episodes and not just a movie. It’s a SpongeBob Christmas released on the format and contains all 10 episodes from the first SpongeBob DVD set, Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies, on the disc as an exclusive bonus, while the DVD just has the Christmas special and some special features.
I’m so glad there’s people like you who appreciate collecting physical media. While streaming is easier to consume since you can find all sorts of entertainment, with the current state of streaming and how they treat certain titles (especially Disney+ and Max taking out original series for Taz write offs), it’s great to have physical media since you’re able to not only have it in the palm of your hands but also not worry about ever losing it from the hands of its corporate owners.
How did I miss this vid until now? I really wanna collect more physical media like DVDs, I just gotta make the space for it. Incredible video, this deserves more views.
I really love old educational DVDs I collect them and they make me happy. it's really cool seeing other people passionate about DVDs and stuff similar like VHS and CDs :)
Excellent video. As a collector of Physical Media myself I tend to feel like with every copy of an album or show/movie I buy, I feel two things. 1: The fact that I'm likely supporting the people who created the media I'm consuming. 2: Low-key nostalgia for stuff I used to watch or listen to all the time. Hell, I've even put some of my very old videos onto DVDs. When my school closed my old TH-cam account, the only way I could revisit those videos was through those DVDs. Without them, 6 years of content would've been lost forever. So, yeah, I could really connect with this video. So, I just wanna say, Thank you. From, Aidan DeFrehn.
Physical media is something I will always cherish for as long as I live. I still remember when I was a kid and just getting a bunch of DVDs of the movies I love because that's how I watched them when I was growing up. Funny enough, I never had Netflix or any streaming service when I was growing up so I was mostly just a DVD kid. Recently, I've been collecting more and more DVDs and Blu-Rays ever since I found my old DVDs again since I thought I lost them forever. Knowing that I can still have my old DVDs lying around while streaming services would pull away shows forever is something I've taken for granted now that I think about it. It's amazing seeing people appreciating physical media more and more and this video further solidified it. Hopefully physical media can stay for as long as we live
This was a super great video! I’ve been a fan for a few years and I think this is your best video, also I used to have SpongeBob goes prehistoric on dvd and the SpongeBob movie on dvd too lmao.
Phenomenal video! So cool to learn the details about all these different formats. Plus, it’s great to see how your channel has grown over the years! I was subbed back when you had a few thousand subscribers, and look at you now! Very proud😊👏🏽
Daniel T, you read my mind. Just recently got a vinyl player and got into this stuff, and even got some great albums for cheap like Willy and the Poor Boys (Fortunate Sun album) and Introducing Lynyrd Skynyrd. For the first time in ages I actually wanna watch you regularly again cuz of this lol
Awesome video mate. Ahhh the memories. I got those Beatles head shape cds I bought the set years ago when they came out I paid like $50 for all of them ,a pretty good price now lol.
My Chemical Romance has a hidden track at the end of the album The Black Parade called "Blood," and it has a full minute and 30 seconds of silence before it begins. I love it
I left a like on this - now for my essay, as of recently I feel like we've reached a point where we're sacrificing our culture and rights for convenience, and while there was a time where having things be convenient was good I think we've finally hit the ceiling and are now starting to see the effects of pursuing it so much - with and companies endless greed sucking the world of it's heart and soul.People in modern life are more alone than ever and sadly do not know how to connect with one another as nobody is teaching them how - making the state of world affairs to seem grim even borderline hopeless but I feel like the resurgence of Physical Media has crafted a space for those people - and I hope they can keep such a space.I recently found a video website where there was just a dude showing off his game collection - nothing big or over the top just showing the video games he picked up that day and it took me back to the days of the old web where people would just do that - show off the additions to their collections. Simple yes but at the same time someone doing something as simple as that may lead others to try and do the same, then another, then another and before you know it a community has been built. A community where people are sharing what they've bought or snagged and express how happy they are to listen to or enjoy the music, game,or movie - one that if you play your cards right can be welcoming to those who sadly can't seem to find a place to reside socially allowing them to discover something they may just be passionate about and then they go on to share that passion with others.I can only hope that Physical Media continues to grow, as any boost it can get is only a good thing at this point. In regards to my recent experiences with some physical media - some time ago I found a bunch of old physical PS1/2 Games at the bottom of a box in the basement (Nuclear Strike, NASCAR '98, King of Fighters '99, Ms. Pacman Maze Madness, Real Pool, Spongebob Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, and Midnight Club Street Racing) and with some strings pulled I found they mostly still work (Spongebob is a bit iffy.) I wanted them back to justify our PS2 as before I found those we only had The Sims 2.Regardless I hope you all enjoy the stuff you have, and don't ever let them take your sense of community - that is more irreplaceable than the media itself.
I love Vhs because it was the format that I was introduced to Weird Al on. Right now, I can only collect DVDs. It's easy since I still have some from my childhood and a player.
Im starting to collect dvds and Blu rays too, mostly old anime and western animation box sets You can use vlc and a blu ray disc drive with some software tricks to bypass drm
I was ready to hear you rant about LaserDisc and then you jump to DVD because it was in fact the clear next mainstream physical media. But hey the little nerd in me is satisfied by CD video being brought up whatsoever.
u must be young. i was almost 30 when streaming started coming out. i grew up with VHS and DVD's when i was a kid. i still remember recording things on tv with VHS tapes back in the day lol. i know im old. gonna be 42 this year.
That must have been the shakiest vinyl record player footage of all times, Jesus tapdancing Christ. I could make out almost nothing about this "tie-colored record" you were so amazed by because you just violently moved your camera around for no reason.

The one time starting with you putting a cassette in at the start makes sense

This is a pretty good video. this video is kind of inspiring me to want to look for rare versions of films you could only find on vhs myself.
Blu-Ray is still used for music and i collect them
missed the contents mate, been hovering since 2017, glad you're back

of course I found this video while cleaning up a cassete so I can put the TF2 Fight Songs on it
It makes me sad that I haven't touched my CD collection since the day I ripped them all in the mid-2000s. But I watch my DVDs/blurays/4Ks every day.
What you mention @7:00 about the vinyl, jack white invented that if I'm not mistaken. His way of making format part of the art is outstanding.
Awesome video mate.
Ahhh the memories.
I got those Beatles head shape cds
I bought the set years ago when they came out I paid like $50 for all of them ,a pretty good price now lol.
Afaik Mid-Life Crustacean can still be bought on TH-cam, but it's under Season 5 because TH-cam messed up how the seasons were organized

I've been really in a massive Tally Hall phase recently so having a section made me so giddy
Great video. I will be an avid physical media collector until the day I die!
Because of the video?
@@Thats_My_Real_Name No, because I’ve been collecting physical media for the past 10 or so years.
Good video. I have so many VeggieTales vhs and DVDs that I might as well own every episode.
I still love Physical Media! :)
It lasts way way way way longer than streaming
You forgot to mention
" VIDEO DISK'S 💿 " 😅😂🤣
I love Vhs because it was the format that I was introduced to Weird Al on. Right now, I can only collect DVDs. It's easy since I still have some from my childhood and a player.
Long live physical media!
And it's also worth owning a Region DVD player or Blu-ray 4k
3:57 THE WAY I AUDIBLY GASPED BECAUSE OF THE TALLY HALL RECORD LMAO
Im starting to collect dvds and Blu rays too, mostly old anime and western animation box sets
You can use vlc and a blu ray disc drive with some software tricks to bypass drm
Didn’t mention laser discs.
1 word for why it’s still important fuser that game was made in 2020 and got delisted in 2022
i really liked inside job too wish they hadn't cancelled it
I disagree with you saying Steven universe ended too quickly
It has 100+ episodes, a sequel series and a movie
It had a good run
You can't just drop the fact you have a Paul McCartney shaped CD and not elaborate
What about the minidisc
(52:52) Planet of the Bass Reference

Streaming sucks! 👎🏻
Yep.
Indeed.
