Gigavolt doesn't actually have to finish casting or show up at all to activate 'lightning speed' run. It took me some trial & error to get the timing down, but now I just: quickcast giga (extra skill button taps work instead of using cataclysm) > cancel with BG > run ...... happy to record/show you sometime if you want.
