The one thing I really don't get about these small tanks: How come this is the only time people want less than a gallon of something? Gallons of gas, gallons of juice-- even my kitty litter comes in 3 gallon pails.. so why would anyone want a 0.25 gallon tank?
My Dad once told me in a serious voice when I was a kid that betas get "stressed out" from having too much room to swim, and that they look panicky when in a bigger tank... I found out later in life that he meant they swim around more in a bigger tank and just kinda float depressed in their tiny bowls...

Hi thx for showing my tank So a quick update from me incase u r wondering. The tank has grow well. The guppies are breeding fast and they have a lot of fries now. I have to remove the angel fish to a new tank because they are acting agressive toward the fries. I replace them with a school of neon tetras (about 20 or so). I now have 3 tanks in my room
The "feeds it pennies" probably means that that person's little brother uses it as a piggy bank rather than a fishbowl. And honestly, that's a far better use for it. As a bank, it's adorable. As a fish tank, it's a monstrous abomination.

10:10 the aqua town tanks are from the British version of pet smart called pets at home It was my first aquarium they come with a fish points thingy so a 10 gallon might have 10 fish points The species of fish have different fish points depending on what tank size they need so a neon tetra might have 2 points and an angel fish Maybe 20points so quite useful for lazy parents that can’t be ars#d with research

When I seen the fish in the bathtub I thought I would share about my tub in case anybody wants to know. I have 9 tanks. I have a huge heavy duty storage tub that I keep full of water. I have the water treated, heated, and filtered. I keep it the same temperature as my fish tanks so that water changes are easier and less stressful on the fish. The tub is also well cycled with plenty of beneficial bacteria so if one of my tanks starts leaking I can put the fish in the tub and they will be fine.

@@xivfrost563 when u raise baby fish to adults some may not meet the standards for example some maybe less colourful or they have some deformities such as a bend spine. it is controversial but often they are euthanized before they are adults so that they do not breed and that their "bad" genes do not mix back into the gene pool.
I had my betta fish tank burst ones. Being that all that was in the tank was a snail and a betta (they are small) I just threw them all in a large bowl till I could get to the store the next morning and a tank cycled. Threw the old filter to help speed up the cycling.

As an adf owner,,,, DONT KEEP THEM IN THAT. they are such beautiful animals that require good water parameters, frozen/live food, and space. While they can be kept in a smaller tank my 2 adfs love their 20 gallons. They have NO room to swim in that tiny ammonia filled bucket.

I know this video is old and I've watched it 3 or 4 times already, but I just wanted to say something pretty sad about pennies in an aquarium...So, a very good friend of mine who is into aquariums, terrariums, and other setups had successfully bred her two favorite Bettas and had over two or three dozen Betta fry. Well, one day her youngest kid (which I believe is around 4 or 5 years old) decided he wanted to "make a wish" and threw a penny into the fry tank...My friend returned to where the tank was a few hours later and, low and behold, every baby Betta had passed...If was absolutely heartbreaking for both her, her family, and me, of course, as I was going to adopt one of the female runt/dwarf Betta fry (these are my favorite Bettas, tiny, active, and aggressive females). So, to answer your question, if there were pennies inside of a tank (if you can even call it that) with an Axolotl inside, I would assume it would die the same day 😢
Someone I know has a 10g with one male betta and 2 African dwarf frogs, as well as one nerite snail. She said that they never fight and don't bother each other. Through googling I haven't found anything conclusive on if this is a good idea or not. What do you guys think?
I was surprised I actually saw a tank with colored gravel and the pictures that you posted. have you changed your mind about tanks with gravel because I live in Taiwan but I'm American and until now we just now got acquired aquarium soil from Japan. I was actually thinking about re landscaping my tanks. I wanted to take the aquarium soil put it on the bottom of tank and then place the color gravel on top and then when I put in other live plants it'll have have nutritioous substrate. as of now I have Driftwood with anubias in every tank and yeah the color gravel actual real gemstones. if you have an email address I'd love to send you some pictures so you could see what it's like now.
Wow hey! I just noticed I was featured in this at 10:50. There's essentially zero aggression in the tank and the african cichlid is all alone. He(she?) doesn't get aggressive at all and mostly hides. I've noticed the angelfish are the dominant ones but they never attack other fish and more just chase them to establish dominance I suppose.. Also you're right it is an interesting mix of fish and I wish I could have done a species tank after subscribing to your channel and seeing how amazing they can be. I've had to do that Bath Tub thing in the past when my 200Gallon burst.... It was Saltwater. Imagine how difficult Salinity control is in a bath tub with such a small amount of time. Next... Imagine two full grown lion fish and Snowflake eels in that tub.
