My local walmart is not getting rid of the fish but I talked to the manager about it because the tanks were drained. They said that new tanks were being brought in and they are hiring people specifically for fish care. The bettas were even supposed to get 2.5 gal tanks so hopefully it goes well. I’ll email you that one, also I got much better with Monte Carlo... the carpet didn’t do well in that tank it’s doing much better in attempt 2. Couple weeks in and it’s already spreading very well. Seriously though! Thank you so much, you have no idea how much it means to me that you reviewed my tank, and liked it.
When I was five me and my sister got goldfish and we got one tiny little fish bowl for both of them. But know I’m 11 I got a new beta fish and his name is Jeffrey. He’s in a 5 gallon fluval spec v. He’s got a mystery snail in there with him 6 live plants and duckweed.
At 2:41 you can see the orange pointy tail of the goldfish that's behind the yellow tang. So the image is actually photoshopped and the original picture was with a goldfish.
I work at Wal-Mart and we just had a remodel. They took out everything and do not sell fish anymore. There was something on the mod refering to Betta but it could have been a misreading, since I havent seen it, or an older mod from before. My Crowntail Betta is one of the last we sold, while the Veiltail I bought died the day after. :(
Before I got my Betta I watched FTR. I'm glad I did everything right away from the beginning. 😊 He is in a 25l tank ( I think 7.7 g ). I got another tank 54l ( 14/15g) with 9 Endlers . Now I got a tank 84l ( might be 22g ) and it is cycling. 😊 What fish should I get, does anyone have an idea? 🙂
I'm almost certain that yellow tang was photoshopped into that hideous fish bowl. I want to hope the goldfish was photoshopped into that glass sitting on the beach, but it looked pretty real. Even if temporary and just done to take a picture, seems messed up to me. Man I wish I could make a tank like that when I was 13 years old! T__T
I'm looking for ideas for my under-stocked tank. I have two neon tetras (planning on getting more), two harlequin rasboras (not planning on getting more, it's a long story), one blue three-spot gourami, two nerite snails and numerous tiny ram's horn snails, and 20+ juvenile platy fish that I plan on selling once they grow to maturity. I may keep a male platy or two. It's a 38 gallon planted aquarium that is 24 inches high, so it's a tall tank. The tank footprint is about the same as a 20 gallon long. I'm trying to avoid long-bodied fish and those that are super active for this reason. I have two large amazon swords and a mass of floating plants and stem plants, and a large fake drift wood sculpture. What else can I do with this tank after the platies are gone? How about invertebrates? Maybe shrimp? Would the blue gourami eat them? Also considering getting a school of cories.
Love that Endler tank^^ I tried to add them to my shrimp tank once because they are small and that would be safe enough for my shrimp. Ended up in a disaster. My shrimp ate them all in a week. I was trying to figure out why they were just disappearing until I found one poor Endler swimming with 2 cherry shrimp sitting on him and nomming at his fins. Couldn't believe they were eating them alive.
Petco and petsmart can be subpar at times in their fish department, but they try to actively hire people who want to be there, and they at the very least hit all the basic marks for keeping fish. It seems like Walmart just shoves random people in the department, and gives them a pamphlet.
So those bettas are actually at my local pet store. Yes they are in small tanks but they ALWAYS recommend at least a 2.5 gallon tank and encourage a 5 gallon when purchasing. They also keep their female bettas in tanks instead of cups. Their fish department is the only one I trust anywhere in the area because they actually know what they are talking about. They always have a good selection of freshwater fish as well.
thank you for the clarification, for a second there I thought you were a betta that reincarnated, it would explain how you knew what the goldfish were saying with the Oscar in the tank with them.
I was super excited yesterday when I found a new non-chain pet store. They had a ton of tanks set up from ~120 to cute little nano displays. I was so excited because where I live is pretty much all Petco and Petsmart. They had fish I’d never seen in person before and fancy plecos! .....and dyed fish, deformed fish, seriously underweight fish, and stunted monster fish for sale (full price) 😑 Oh and to top it off they were displaying their “Summer Mason Jar Tank” which was a SEALED mason jar with neon gravel, a moss ball, and a betta. So disappointed...... I really wanted to pick up some juvenile blue eye lemon plecos, a big ole’ SAE, some kubotai rasbora, and a show betta but nope..... not a fin was purchased at that store. Such a shame. Like obviously someone there knows a lot about fish and is ordering the cool stuff and setting up these display tanks but someone else is like NaH pUt ThE bEtTa In A jAr
The fish in the bowl image is a yellow sailfin tang. Nice fish, quite easy to keep for saltwater, get about 8 inches long but are slow-growing and very flat-bodied, but like all surgeonfish they require a disproportionately large tank relative to their size due to how active they are - surgeonfish are almost always on the move when the lights are on, stopping only to pick at algae or if they see something interesting outside the tank. A 55 gallon is minimum for just one of these, and ideally you'd want at least a 130 if you're going to keep one with similar-sized tankmates. Do not keep with other sailfin tangs - you can keep distantly related surgeonfish together, but closely related ones will fight and due to a unique physical trait of surgeonfish this WILL result in serious injury or even death or one or more fish. Be very careful in the off chance you have to handle the fish physically, as surgeonfish possess a scalpel-like blade on each side of the caudal peduncle - this is actually why they're called surgeonfish.
I used to buy fish from Walmart to rescue them. I bought 2 feeder fish last year and put them in a 30 gallon and they are still alive to this day and are as long as my finger. I also bought a betta from Walmart 2 years ago in a 5 gallon tank and she’s still alive also.
The “tank” in 10:59 is an empty bottle of Dan Akroyd’s crystal skull vodka. Someone can spend $50 for a bottle of terrible vodka but not $10-$15 for a 10 gallon tank.
I just kept looking at the gecko 😍🦎....Nice video will say the grey tank with all the plastics most likely got too acidic and hot turns stuff bad quick....
So, my friend "rescued" a betta from a mutual friend of ours that was being kept in a little mason jar. They have a 2.5 gallon haxogonal (which I wouldn't put anything bit shrimp in or use as temporary holding for betta myself) that's unfiltered, and they decided to put a baby PLECO in there with the betta with some live plants. I called them out on the pleco, and they KNOW how big they can get and how dirty they can be. But they were hysterical when I said something about it trying to say I don't know anything about keeping fish and they've been keeping fish all their life and it will only grow based on the size of that tank and all that even though they know it shouldn't be in there. I'm really about to fishnap those poor things and bring the pleco back to the store and put the betta in a 5 gal with a filter and plants. They literally "rescued" the betta just to put it in a worse environment and in absolutely pissed about it
At my local walmart they have the "an expanded selection of pet merchandise coming soon" and it doesnt look like theyre taking the takes out cause theyve been sitting there running them (cycling) for several weeks.......
I has .5 gallon tank, but is for reason , I swear. I am getting baby snails (because they don't treat them well at the pet shop by me) and its just temporary till they get bigger, they're only 2mm now so. Tiny tank works out for a few weeks
Question similar to what you were talking about at 17:30. I have nutrient rich substrate and I want to plant an amazon sword but I know they need root tabs. Would you happen to know if it's okay to just stick them in the nutrient rich substrate? I guess I'm curious to know if it's just as good so I don't need to spend more.
3:00 Fortunatley, I believe that is a photoshop as the fish looks too florescent to not be under some aquarium light and you can see actual goldfish fins poking out towards the tail.
Some of those tanks are heartbreaking but your reviews always make me smile. Hopefully the owners will become educated or at least stop to think about they are doing.
I rescued all of the Fish from my local Walmart that's **finally** closing down their Fish section (video on my crappy little channel lol)!! I saw that same "pet merchandise will be expanded soon" sign at another closed down 'Live Fish' section at another Walmart, and they replaced it all with Dog food...So don't worry my fellow Fish enthusiasts!! Walmart is finally getting rid of their abused Fish and they're never coming back!! Well, at least I hope they're not...
My Walmart just recently got rid of their fish department. Even the accessories and equipment is gone. Now I only have animart unless I go out of town.
I went to my friends house and they had a giant goldfish in a 0.5 gallon tank, I asked them if they had a bigger tank and they had a 10 gallon in their garage, I am extremely proud of my self for at least being able to move the goldfish into a 10 gallon 😌
I have piranhas living with my koi’s and none eat each other had him for 6 years, two feet and since it was an inch long with koi fry it has never eaten another fish except pellets and blood worms. So my piranha is a koi fish now
Wow.. The pleco "tank" broke my heart. There was not a single thing done right. Size, shape, plastik plants, no hiding places and freaking big stones instead of sand. Did I forget anything? Oh, wrong fish for this horrific setup
I thought it was just my local Walmart doing that. All the fish have been gone for weeks yet there's a sign saying the department will be bigger. God I hope they just shut it down for good.

Wow.. The pleco "tank" broke my heart. There was not a single thing done right. Size, shape, plastik plants, no hiding places and freaking big stones instead of sand. Did I forget anything? Oh, wrong fish for this horrific setup
I have a gravel substrate and I feed with liquid food is it ok
I loved how you pronounced Yorkshire, ily
oh did I do it right? yay xD
Chris: what is that a damselfish?
Me *laughs in saltwater*
The one at the beginning is called a yellow tang! I work at a fish store and I've seen some oof things.

My tank at 3:29
Nice. Do the gouramis fight?
I thought it was just my local Walmart doing that. All the fish have been gone for weeks yet there's a sign saying the department will be bigger. God I hope they just shut it down for good.
can you do a video were you show all your tanks and pets
FFT: maybe its photoshopped
Me: You can see the tail of the goldfish that was there.
*insert jackie chan meme*
Being a person from the south I can say your accent was pretty good 3.3/5 keep up the good work
Yellow fish: *exist*
Kids: ITS A GOLD FISH
