Set of NGK neon spark plug caps would set that off a treat :) BTW Lucas, Bosch and VW made transparent dizzy caps for testing purposes, the cap would be clear and the plug cap one of the neon types so they could set the timing to get the best looking spark visually, this was before widespread use of dwell meters for determining the best timing/points relationship. You can get them for Mini's as well for the Mini electronic distributors, VW Beetle, Volvo's, even straight sixes like Triumph and Jaguars Lucas made dedicated "test" caps.

But there was no radio suppression and it would fry everybody's radio signal TV signal in the general area when he was driving it around! Wasn't making too many friends haha.

So we need the transparent Lada with the transparent oil pan and valve covers, transparent oil filter and intake manifold... transparent cap and wires... and whatever else you guys have made that was "see through" (though the oil filter didn't really work all that well)
Spark plug wires that have been oil soaked and in use for some time, the insulation deteriorates, in complete darkness a bluish green glow can be seen over the wires and this glow can be transferred to your hand when touched without you feeling any shock...i did not believe untill experiencing this for myself , kind of awesome in my opinion
Cylinder 1 had something that was requiring higher peak voltage to ionize the gap of the spark plug. Since you were already at the limit of the voltage the ignition system could provide, it lead to misfires on cylinder 1. Could be wear on the spark plug, higher compression, leaner mixture or even valve leakage on cylinder 1.

Hypothetical situation: You have to escape and all you have is a Lada. The ONLY way to escape is to cross a large body of water. You have the means to float the Lada but, you also have to drive off once you get ashore on the other side. If you built a pontoon boat out of lumber and empty drums and drove the Lada onto it, could the driveshaft be disconnected from the rear axle, stabilized with a driveshaft loop, an extension added to the shaft with a propeller, and dropped into the water? Could the Lada then propel itself to the other side where the driveshaft would be reconnected to the rear axle and driven off?
what would look cooler is Plastic tubing filled with neon gas, plastic tubing will not hold up to heat unless it were pressurized. Need a very conductive gas/ vapor

Might be creating gas inside the cap that ionizes the air inside allowing the electricity to ark, happenes if there's no vent i believe but it might be nothing like that at all lol
It'll probably make it worse - you can already see some sparks at low RPM, an MSD 6AL will throw out 7 sparks per cycle. It'll look uninterrupted, just like at higher RPMs. What they should do is put a Blaster II coil and remove any ballast resistor on those old Ladas - 40,000 V vs 15 or 20,000 V would make quite the improvement.
What happens if you use really long motor mounts so the weight of motor ( and trans?) Connects to the car body or frame way further rearward? Mounted in trunk? Or mid mounted motor mounts to the normal front engine location. (Mount arms would be really long ) Does it change the corner weights or center of gravity? Can you improve handling this way?

I used a yellow transparent cap on my 71 super beetle Baja bug it was cool at night

That looks crazy! Nice work. You should try some blue EL wire. I bet that would look amazing. It might fix the spark gap issue if it worked.

I had one of those ricer clear distributor caps on my Civic in like 2001. You can also hear the interference from unshielded cables.

The Soviet Union ceased to exist about 30 years ago. Maybe you missed it but it was a fairly big news story at the time.

Use bb's in a clear tube, with a tiny chip of ceramic insulation between them to get a .1mm gap

This wouldn't change the centre of gravity, the weight would be in exactly the same place due to leverage.
Why not put all of these in the clear lada?
