Wouldn't left handed players throw to the left to loosen, just like righties?
My yoyo turns a lot. i.e., when I throw a breakaway and look down, it starts like this = and then starts turning like this // or \\. I don't mean it leans like a gyroscopic flop either. This happens even with neutral string tension. What could be the problem??
It could be that your throw is not straight.

Don't run your hand down the string, it puts all the sweat/oils/dirt from your hand into the string and vise-versa

These tricks do not seem to work for me at all.
with the first one, all my yoyo does is just follow my hand (it tries to stay under it no matter what and just bind straight up), no tornado thingy at all.
and with the second one, all my yoyo does is fall straight down (again, no tornado at all), often coming to a complete stop within seconds of tugging it up
same exact thing happening to me with the regular sidewinder...

Well I know this was posted a year ago but I just had the same problem and couldn't figure it out for 2 weeks, but I think I just got it! I have a longer string on my yoyo so it's a little tougher to get it far enough away from the yoyo in time after binding, so I practiced just throwing a normal sleeper (I have an unresponsive) and trying to get a super long tornado motion by pulling it up and extending my whole arm (basically the same thing as the sidewinder but from a sleeper). It's not effective whatsoever but it gives you an idea of how far you have to pull your arm in each direction to get a tornado. Then just do a bind and really throw your yoyo hand far in that direction and it should start to form. Hope this made any kind of sense lol

For the direction of the sindwinder : didn't you make a mistake? You say - when right-handed- : left=loose. But in these vid th-cam.com/video/fl2r0ODW_os/w-d-xo.html, the opposite is taught.
