I still can't believe that I never got to see him perform live. Literally a week before he passed away I went online to try to get tickets to go see Soundgarden. they weren't performing in Chicago or Milwaukee on his last tour so I remember thinking well they will be back soon to play my area on the next tour. Then I was driving to work and it came on the radio "Chris Cornell dies at age 52". I was so stunned. That was a sad day at work that's for sure. Chris was the best Rock singer of all time hands down.
27 and this stuff still doesnt get old. I remember having bad days, coming home and sitting on my couch and going through the albums one song at a time. Always made me feel better. Grunge was really therapeutic to me because it addressed so many sentiments and issues that were not covered in any other genre, and really havent been covered as well since IMO
I was 5 years old and my parents left us boys behind. When i first herd black hole sun and burden in my hands i felt so thrown away but chris with his words made me feel better. So i fell i love with grunge and anything rock ,metal was gold with chris. Even after the grunge eara was long gone is stayed with me on those bad days. Betters days always come. R.I.P. my most best friend when i had no friends family. Or myself. Chris took it away or gave me a better way to look at life.
The album version didn't do justice to this song, this is the definitive one imo. Chris is one of the best rock singers ever, aside his incredible range, his voice can reach the depths of your soul like few can do.
Depression is a tough battle...it really feels like your out on your own many times, fighting this little demon inside of you. It's heartbreaking to know he's gone.

Brenda Shaffer...... not to be racist or disrespectful by any means, but all MTV plays now is a bunch of N@$% crap and all the white kids are eating that shit up, or are they all mexican kids now? Ahh who the hell who knows or cares lol
stunning all round, for you young folk not old enuff to remember this period of music in the 90's i can confirm that us older ones were absolutely blessed and spoilt on a daily, weekly, monthly basis for what seemed like 6 years,it began to change slightly from mid '96 early '97 but that period man, 91-96,unforgettable
You have a lot more live listening from Chris to do then my friend! He wasn't even at his vocal peak anymore here, albeit still an amazing performance. Check out some earlier Soundgarden performances, especially beyond the wheel if you want to hear some insane live vocals. I'll even attach a link of one of MANY examples. 1993 Beyond The Wheel: m.th-cam.com/video/hTr8BNLqrOM/w-d-xo.html
I love how Chris holds his own against the soundman...he doesn't break his tone or raise his voice,he waits patiently till the sound guy adjusts His volume accordingly per song. The ART of Screaming without Screaming: Chris Cornell
Reminds me of when I still had stars in my eyes. Things sure have changed and so has music. It was raw back then. Now it's hyper produced and....less soulful. Where are the singers like Chris these days?
25 as well... I grew up with grunge as a kid while people around me listened to other stuff... I felt like I was the only one of my friends that listened to music with heart and soul.
Dude, Tool, SG are two unbelievable, and my all-time favorite bands, but Chris' unique voice and lyrics are deadly, and are beyond Maynard's greatness. Maynard is a God, but Chris is THE God! Let's not talk about Carey's & Cameron's makes-me-drool drumming, Jones' and Thayil's classic heavy awesome riffing, because that's what they both have in common which makes them the greatest But Chris is like a morning coffee with his voice, I don't relax with nothing, like I do while listening him sing!
I always play this song when I'm depressed.
Me too...❤
I always play this song.

Besides of "The Day I Tried to live" in my case.
Yes a awesome song and Chris Cornell a awesome singer 💐 RIP 🙏
Chris' voice is a gift!
Joana Chaves I know :(
:'(
Yeah 😢
It really was
Chris and Layne
We grow accustomed to Chris’s outstanding performances. The band is at peak level, too. Everyone is hitting on all cylinders.
Chris goes right into my heart, even when he yawns. My favorite singer and I love a lot of bands and their singers, but he is the Top.
Yes I agree awesome group, may Chris Cornell RIP 💐
R.I.P, Mr. Cornell
he still alive in our hearts
SOOO much pure soul and POWER in his musicianship. What a horrible fucking loss.
What a beautiful man!!!!!!!! It still hurts so much 😪
Love the camera effects and the overall look this mini concert had. Like the Superunknown and Down On The Upside covers come to life.
Still one of the greatest songs ever
"So save it for your own and the ones you can help".
Such a beautiful, sensitive astoundingly brilliant soul.

This song still gives me chills all these years later. It really hits after his death
Yes I agree,so sad Chris Cornell passed away,A awesome singer and miss the 90s to
Possibly one of the best songs in the world if not the best one
Today was the 1st day I again tried to enjoy Soundgarden since we lost Chris.....and I still cannot without again opening this hole in my heart
Fuck. I miss the 90's...... :(

I know I'm very late to this comment but I just want to tell you that's how it still is for young people like me. The spirit of grunge never died!
Now ur 39
Music is timeless. Hope you're doing well brother!

My fave Soundgarden tune!
i love this one too, helps me out through my struggles 😭
Mine too. I think it's very underrated.

to me the album version's vocals have this sort of accepting, hopeless cinism that really matches how i see the song, i like it
@@mikesantiago14 what is “cinism”…and please don’t reply with…”look it up”
@@Oh_I_Will sorry g my bad i wrote it wrong... i meant cynicism, i'm not native so i sometimes mistake words
@@Oh_I_Will but it means a sort of pessimism and questioning of whether trying is even worth it or not, in the way i meant it
Nah the album version is definitely better
The song pretty much sums it all up
He truly was one amazingly talented artist. Rip legend!!!
The whole song is good, but the bridge, the bridge gets my full attention every time. I get all pumped up right at 3:55
3:42 - 4:16. Timeless...Just close your eyes and listen.
amen
@@Beeker255 hi
This band changed my life.
Is there anything more beautiful than this track, this awesome vocal, insanely good lyrics & this genuine man? No. 🌹🌹🌹💔💔💔💫
escuchabamos esto en quillota....en los noventas...cerca de la linea del tren que ya no existe. tomando cerveza. buenos tiempos
Soy de santiago, tengo 17 y desearia haber nacido en tu epoca, para tener recuerdos asi :(
How could 21 downvote this performance? It’s perfect.
Dammit Chris :'/ RIP

Matt Cameron is the best drummer to ever exist.

wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!what a great voice..
Christopher John Cornell, I miss you so much.🥲
That is a truly f**king trippy song. Love it!
love it, voice from the GODS
This will never be an oldie cause it'll always be relevant.
This truly is their best recordings live. Amazing songs :X:X:X:X:X
Nothing
Seems to kill me
No matter how hard I try
Nothing's closing my eyes
Nothing can beat me down
For your pain or delight
No
And nothing
Seems to break me
No matter how far I fall
Nothing can break me at all
Not one for giving up
Though not invincible
I know
I've given everything I need
I'd give you everything I own
I'd give in if it could at least be ours alone
I've given everything I could
To blow it to hell and gone
Burrow down and then
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside world
Someone
Tried to tell me something
Don't let the world
Bring you down
Nothing can do me in
Before I do myself
So save it for your own
And the ones you can help
No
I've given everything I need
I'd give you everything I own
I'd give in if it could at least be ours alone
I've given everything I could
To blow it to hell and gone
Burrow down and then
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside world
Want to make it understood
Wanting though I never would
Trying though I know it's wrong
Blowing it to hell and gone
Wishing though I never could
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside world
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside world
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
Blow up the outside
`world`
They were really ON for this performance. Saw them play "waiting for the sun" during a sunset over Iowa cornfield. F'ing unbelievable.
Omg he gives me chills every time.
Yes I was. I discovered soundgarden when I was 14 in 2004. Better late than never.
