We took delivery of a brand-new 2019 Honda CRF250R this week and headed to Cahuilla Creek MX to conduct our "First Impression" test with TWMX test rider Pat Foster.
Im struggling to decide between the '19 crf250r and 19' yz250f.. I currently ride an old crf250x and am looking to get into racing. I have a decent amount of experience, but I'm definitely not a pro. If you have ridden any yamahas, how different is the bottom end power? What did you prefer? Thanks.
Paul Oh I know its said that the yz is pretty hard hitting off the bottom. Havent had much time on a yz recently. I do feel the crf has decent bark off bottom and moves good. If you keep the bike at least in the midrange, it rips. (Around 5000 rpm or higher) IMO cant go wrong with either bike, both have their advantages in certain aspects. The Honda can turn a little tighter but the yz has better stability at speed. The 19 crf250r has decent suspension, a little stiff in the rear with compared to the front stock clicker settings. I love the rev limiter sound on the Honda, the YZ is a little raspy.

It wasn’t “spare” but I spent it on a ‘19 and LOVE it. I also rip a ‘95 CR250r, and owned an ‘03 CRF450R and I believe the 250f is all the good things, without seeing god every other lap if the 450 power got away from you. #NoWingNoPrayer
@@mattrobinson4994 I was just playing around. Id say premium pump 91 is great. VP if you really want to squeeze more power out of it but lower longevity of the motor life.

I got a 19 CRF250R. Everything he said is spot on, bike corners great, decent low end for slower riders/tighter tracks. Suspension is so damn good.

I want one for New England off-road events. My '95 CR250r was a replacement for my '03 CRF450r back in 2010, I'm ready for some four stroke again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I would go back to Honda IF it wasn't for Kawi upgrading the 19 450. Excellent bikes this year.

Vp t4 is healthy, burns cleaner and feels a little crisper
@@designwithowen race gas makes the bikes have more longevity as it's burns better than. Pump gas
