Paying a monthly fee for the Oura ring's app would be a hard "no" for me. Most apps like that at least provide basic information for free and then charge for extended data. An option would be the smallest Fitbit that can be worn as a necklace or bracelet, but I'm not sure that provides as much information.
I have a Versa 2 Fitbit I got for my birthday two years ago. It does all of this, tracks my exercise, when my heart rate was higher, can detect irregular heart rate, tracks my sleep and stress levels. There’s a premium version I used a free trial for 6 months but didn’t resubscribe, it does give extra info on sleep, workout regimes, community access, etc. I honestly love mine and it’s just a Bluetooth/WiFi connection. It’s a fraction of the price.

I would love a follow-up video, especially for the chair. My current desk chair was great when I got it but flattened out and got super firm and uncomfortable within a few months so I'd love to see if you still love it over time, it might be worth the switch for me then.

Oura ring is a NAH! The fact you pay out the butt for it and then still monthly to just view what your ring is tracking…. Also I have heard some really shit stories about there customer service.

You 100% need to give the Oura ring more time. It took about 2 weeks for the ring to gather enough data to know my sleep patterns and readiness. Also, after a week or two I found the ring to be way more comfortable and now it’s been about 2 months and I don’t even notice it anymore. It’s been great for my sleep and adjusting my activity goal based on my data, which keeps me motivated but avoiding injury and burnout so I would say it’s worth the price! It was also covered by my HSA and was fully covered by the money my company puts into my HSA.

yessss oura ring!! I’ve been wearing it for a couple years now and it has changed my life. It took me a while to get used to when sleeping to but so worth it!!
With the oura ring: a friend of mine was having issues with her sleep, and her doctor recommended a sleep study, but her insurance wouldn’t cover it. So she bought the orua and wore it for about six months and then presented her sleep data to her doctor and they found out. She actually had really bad sleep apnea. She figured $400 was cheaper than how much sleep study was going to be.
I didn’t know there was a subscription that you have to pay for monthly that seems a little scamming when you’re paying $400 for a ring

Thanks for an informative video! I will say that $100-$150 is a pretty standard price for mid-range desk chairs, so that doesn't sound egregious to me. I'd love to see a long-term update!

I heard about a Kickstarter for a ring that similar to Oura, but without the membership. I'm going to wait for that one to be released.
As a long time Dyson airwrap and thermal brush user, they’re no comparable, lol. They’re two totally different products and you’re not using them in the same way. You can also use a round brush and a blow dryer, a curler or a straightener to get your ends flipped out.

A desk chair in the 100-200 dollar range is honestly still pretty low. Good desk chairs definitely can range in the hundreds.

You mentioned you didn’t like the look of the Apple Watch. Is the aesthetic of the Apple Watch that bad that you can’t wear it while just working out and sleep. Technically it wouldn’t be a part of your wardrobe.

I have a Fitbit which tracks sleep.. and I had to stop wearing it to sleep because I’d get so caught up with having a low sleep score even if I felt rested in the morning. My bf had one too and we’d compare and it would upset me when his score was like 90 and mine was 71.

You will probably get used to Oura, I have personally. Used it now for 3 years. The main thing it measures is sleep so people use something else for sports tracking if they are super into that. Keep in mind that the step count is a bit higher in Oura than in reality since it’s on your finger. The period tracker is really interesting as you get suggestions based on where you are on your cycle, like to rest or train heavier. The main downside is the battery life over time. Realistically, you can expect 3-4 years max until it gets really bad. Their customer service is great and you should contact them right away if you have any issues with battery during the warranty period.
I think you need to wear the watch and ring at the same time and compare the results
ooh i wouldn't be able to wear that big ring. my fitbit tracks sleep, fitness & other things amazing like this. hopefully they can make it slimmer someday. keep us updated if you choose to keep it, please!

I was super skeptical of the Oura, but as a user now for a year, I absolutely love the information it provides. My finger also felt sore for the first few days/week but it quickly got used to having such a hefty ring on. Thanks for checking out the crisscross chair.. I was wondering about lumber support since I sit at my desk all day being remote, plus I use my current chair's arms all the time, so this was helpful to hear!
I love the look of and how small the oura ring is. I dont like the aesthetic of the Apple Watch either but I wear it everyday 😂The subscription with the ring is what annoys me though like why do I need to pay monthly after buying an expensive item?!

Have you considered trying biphasic sleep? Sounds like your body may be naturally trying to do it haha.. could make for an interesting video even if it’s not your normal type of content!
Oura ring says their sizing is different than typical rings (probably because of the little bulbs inside). I got the sizing kit and I was 1-2 sizes bigger than I anticiapted. Maybe see if you can return it for the correct size if you want to wear it on your index finger?

bought myself an oura ring on black friday and it has been one of my favorite things! trying to take care of myself this year and focus on things like sleep and stress, and oura makes it really easy for me to gauge how i’m feeling, what’s stressing me out, what areas of my sleep need improvement, etc. definitely pricey and i wish there wasn’t the monthly subscription to pay for too, but at this moment I do think it’s worth it!
I stopped wearing my Oura ring because I was finding myself deciding my day was gonna suck if I got a bad sleep score

Tried the period tracking on my galaxy watch and it was not accurate. My watch also tracks my sleep just as well as the ring. I like having a watch because I can reply to texts and take calls on that when I can’t reach for my phone and it still also does all the tracking. The ring is just way too expensive when it can’t do all the things a watch can. But that’s my opinion.

I have the Oura ring and swear by it. It’s perfect for me cause I refuse to put my body through the hell that is hormonal birth control, and tracking my cycle is way more conducive to my lifestyle. The monthly fee was for sure annoying, but it’s worth it for me personally. Also the sleep tracking is next level. The fitness and steps tracking is a bonus.
Edited to add: Also to answer the question about the comfortability, making sure you get the correct size for whatever finger you want to wear it on is super important. I got the free ring sizing kit they send you beforehand to make sure I got the size for my pointer finger correct, and I never have any pain or discomfort from wearing it. I also have very dry eczema prone skin and it hasn’t caused any flare ups which is 💯

What I want to know is how that curling brush differs from, say, a $20-$30 curling brush. Is there some special benefit to that particular model?
I have been using the Oura ring for about a year and a half now. I originally got it because the app I was using to track my cycle partnered with them and I got a discount. It has been great for tracking my temperature at night for my cycle tracking, and the apps work well together. I hardly ever notice the ring on my finger any more, and I have really enjoyed watching the sleep and exercise data. I too, am a Capricorn 😆. It has also helped me to have some more motivation to exercise while also making me feel less guilty when I feel off, and just need a chill day. Usually the data agrees.
I would love a 6 month follow up to see how the products hold up and if you are still using them.
I hate putting furniture together. I learned I am absolutely terrible at it so I never get anything I have to put together lol. As far as workout goes I ordered the peloton for black Friday and I love it !!!! Best expensive purchase ever and I’m already seeing a difference in my arms !

Don’t let apple ultra watch or oura ring fool you. A monthly subscription is MUCH more expensive than buying something outright. Subscriptions are a hard no for me. I have an Apple Watch, (not an ultra) i just wish battery life was better. I may look into Garmin tho for superior battery life
