I love that Hemlock is actually a pretty competent villain. When he hears about the Batch possibly being on their way he has fighters keep an eye out for them. When their shuttle is shot down he has crews search the jungle crash site and the science shuttle they rode in on. Just simple things like that go so far in making the Empire seem like a real threat.
This! Yes, thought it was just me but I've noticed that he is always prepared and never takes half measures. Probably more cautious than Tarkin himself.
Reminder that they discovered Omega and Rex's clone rebel base location early on but Hemlock did nothing and they got away as usual. And now he's entrusted all of Palpatine's experimental secrets to Emerie who has a history of incompetence. Hemlock is a garbage villain.
@@Magemo7 well he is an ARC trooper, recon is sorta his speciality. I don't think the OP meant to diminish the Bad Batch just highlight how an Imperial villain with this level of competence is rare in Star Wars.
Hemlock is more Thrawn than actual Disney canon Thrawn himself. He is calm, collected, extremely intelligent and thus very intimidating as a villain. I really love him as an antagonist. He doesn’t get that much screen time but he’s used effectively every time.
@@rebus8460my genuine question is why? A lot of adults still consider animation for “kids”, but it feels like the bad batch has been much more mature than boba fett, mando season 3, and especially kenobi. I don’t get the logic, it’s not like this is the HIGHEST form of art, but it’s surprisingly exceptional compared to the live action ones
@@captainpep3 My theory (at least from observation) is that the more involved Disney tries to be with a project during its inception, the more likely it is to fail. What this means is that shows that are made to be as "marketable" as possible usually end up falling short. It has usually been the more obscure ones, the ones people either generally paid no mind to at first (like Andor) or projects Disney straight up never expected to really take off (Mando S1-S2, animated shows) that tend to have more creative freedom, and thus success it seems like. I'm sure this is not the entire story and there's more to it, but this is what it feels like to me. The push to make a show what would generally be considered marketable is what seems to compromise quality and integrity.
Rampart screaming his lungs out at the goofy Bad Batch things that we're used to was the highlight for me. Goes to show how we're so used to these characters performing incredible stunts and then we see this officer guy scream his heart out at the prospect of dropping down a rope.
In fairness to Rampart, it was a crashing, pilot-less ship, in enemy territory, above wild hostile jungles, without a parachute or anything. Even seasoned soldiers would be inclined to holler there lol.
Emerie coming across Echo in particular is very important because more than anyone else stuck on Tantiss he is a walking, talking reminder of the lasting effect that this kind of experimentation can have on a person. If Emerie didn't have her change of heart before it would be pretty difficult for her to look at Echo and not question her actions.
Wrecker getting slashed and killed by that jungle creature would’ve been the perfect unceremonious death Thor’s been talking about. Imagine they’re finally at the castle’s gate, everything has to go right going forward, and he gets taken out by an enemy hiding in the bush.
If the next episode is not extra long, whether that be double or triple length, then that means we won't get Rex joining the raid. It also means things are going to go bad FAST. The only way to quickly wrap up everything is to kill everyone.
@@Solo13508 he’s gotta be in the finale it be pretty weird that they kinda just don’t address him in someway shape or form given that rumor has it the next animated show is going to be a clone revenge of the Sith show…
The show has definitely hit its stride. Really appreciate Echo getting some love. It’s very entertaining when they let each member thrive with their skill set. I’m scared this show will end and the clone conclusion will never be told. This show had a huge opportunity to dive into post order 66 and how the clones reacted but they’ve barely touched it for a much less interesting story. Hopefully the next show touches that
It’ll be poetic if the cloned Zillo Beast ruin Palpatine’s current cloning plans, with the fact that the original Zillo Beast went after Palpatine with a vengeance.
I'm glad the Empire responded logically to the threat by TBB, instead of them simply sneaking around undetected. I knew that sooner or later Rampart would either escape or be captured and (very likely) betray them. The Zillo beast may be the answer on how they are going to wrap everything up in probably a bit over thirty minutes next week. It may end up killing most of them. Disney won't show children getting killed, so I'm 100% certain Omega and the Force sensitive kids will survive. I think Crosshair may survive, and I'd give Echo an outside chance (though he has to die by the time period of Rebels). Hunter and Wrecker won't make it, I'm certain. I thought there would be more resolutions this week. We've not seen Sid all season and they need to have one last scene with her, but that seems unlikely now. I'm assuming that Phee has Batcher, (and the medical droid too) because he disappeared a few weeks back. By the meandering pace of the last three episodes, clearly there will be a series that follows this, likely dealing with the 'regular' clones and Rex's group trying to help them, perhaps balanced with shows about 'The Path' (with Ventress of course!) rescuing Force Sensitive children. The pace of TBB has been far too slow to wrap every loose story-line up next week.
I get the feeling that Omega will probably release the Zillo Beast and it'll wreak havoc in the facility. There's only one episode left, and we still have no idea who that Assassin is.
@Solo13508 Yeah, good point. Everybody thought Marrok was gonna be Starkiller, but he turns out to be a witch fart. Honestly, Thank God it isn't him. Not only Disney would butchered his character, but it also would've opened up more plot holes.
I have always felt that the assassin's was a clone of tech or crosshair. I'm leaning more towards crosshair and that being where the rampart ominous "people never change" comes from. As in, he sees clone crosshair (assassin) without helmet thinking it's crosshair doing something against bad batch etc, only for him to be subsequently saved by the real crosshair, and simultaneously overcoming the hand shake in that moment too
About the Assassin - I think the point of that is just that it is a clone, a brother, so it makes sense for it to be any generic clone and we never even find out. I am still praying for him not to be Tech though. About Omega releasing the Zillo Beast - now you've got me scared that that's what's gonna kill a member of the Batch. Not sure we're ready for that.
Not sure if the reason I immediately loved Omega is that she reminds me of my own daughter, but the way they have handled her character is perfect. She has earned nearly everything she has done, she has made mistakes several times, but she sticks to her guns and her growth as a person really makes me want to see what her role is in future SW projects. I hope this is not the end of her character, figuratively or literally.
How we still don’t have episodes longer than 20 minutes is mind baffling to me. It’s not like these shows are made for tv anymore. For comparison, Shogun episodes are no less than an hour long and those are live action.
@@matthewshort4466I highly disagree. Take Arcane for instance, that’s a animated show with a episode length of around 40 minutes and that time worked extremely well for them. I don’t see any reason why an animated TV show can’t have the same length and pacing as a typical live action TV show, the only difference is how it’s made from a visual point of view.
I really been loving the show this season. But agreed idk how they're gonna wrap up a whole series in 1 episode that's Satisfying and builds towards the next show. I just want it to end on a high note even if they don't check off every box
I wish it was longer. When the final scene ended, I was like “that’s it?” I definitely think this episode could have been longer. I’m just hoping for a much longer series finale than how long these episodes typically are, but I highly doubt it will address a lot of the questions we have, and will unfortunately leave a lot of them unanswered
I think the exchange between Crosshair and Rampart sets Rampart up for his comeuppance - Crosshair will probably have an opportunity to side with Rampart for both their own benefit and Crosshair will leave him dangling, hoisted on his own petard as they say, by Crosshair showing his true colors by being loyal to the Batch and his brother and sister clones. Doesn’t mean Crosshair will survive the moment, I think he’s doomed - there has to be a reckoning for his past choices along with redemption.
This is what always bugged me since the clone wars bad batch episode. Why isn't there a proper prosthesis for Echo? And I don't mean to replace his current mechanical arm. I very much realize how practical this link is for infiltrations and what not. What I mean is a mechanical hand that's specifically made to be used with his arm. They have the technology and the mechanical arm is capable to hack into complex systems, so hand movement should also be possible, even if it's not as good as before. It always looks awkward how Echo has to fight only with his left hand (Clones seem to be all right handed) and the solution seems so obvious.
25 mins wont be enough time for the batch to break in, rescue omega, emery, the kids, the clones, confront hemlock and clone x, destroy the lab, steal a ship, escape and have a conclusive ending. Not to mention if a character doesnt make it, there wont be any time to take a moment to process it unlike with tech.
This was a great episode but I feel like there is too much left for the finale and if it is normal length I don’t know how they are going to finish everything off. Who knows it might be a double or triple length episode or there might be an episode after it that has a spoiler heavy title that hasn’t been revealed yet.
I still think it was a massive mistake to have Crosshair find out about Tech’s death off-screen. It should have been a huge revelation that Tech died trying to save him, and then Crosshair has to deal with the guilt. The episode on the snow planet was the perfect time to discuss Tech. I kept waiting for Hunter to say something like, “Tech died trying to save you”, but he didn’t. Also, it was unrealistic how quickly the Bad Batch accepted him back into their squad. They would still view Crosshair as a villain, since he hasn’t really done anything to make up for his actions. If they really wanted to redeem him, they should have done it at the end of season 1.
They’re soldiers, losing any member of the batch was always a possibility. We don’t need an episode of them mourning over Tech, I think the briefness of it all adds to the realism of war and is perfectly in character with them. As for the batch accepting Crosshair, I think you’re forgetting Season 1’s finale. Remember, the last time they interacted, Crosshair betrayed his squad and tried to get the Batch to join him. He saved Omega and AZ from drowning, which is the last time they all saw each other…they left on indifferent terms, not hatred.
I'm sad to see it all end but I'm also glad I got to go through this whole clone wars journey. a 15 or 16 year journey it brings a smile to my face and tears to my eyes.
With Rampart and what he said to Crosshair, can be that it is himself who changes and helps them, maybe sacrifices himself when he understand that they are the good guys... Hope we get a longer episode and also that we get a spin-off from this Maybe with Omega and Rex and Echo. Might be that one of the Batch survives Who knows But a spin-off that migth go with a wider picture and characters. This has been a great series, and when will we see Hemlock becoming Snoke????
3:15 Bad Batch season 3 was renewed with 16 episodes, originally. They only produced 15 episodes. So hopefully they merged 1.5x episodes worth into the final episode.
I really don't know how they're going to wrap everything up in one short episode. My theory is that the final episode is 70-80 mins long like the the first episode, or that on May 4th we get a final 16th episode, the show starting and finishing on the same day of the year.
Wrecker is so going down they've been toeing the line repeatedly and eventually it's gonna catch up. Also how poetic for echo to die on a prison breakout again.
These episodes have been good, but I realize now that I had been expecting the last four episodes of Bad Batch to be as epic as the last four of Clone Wars. I could even imagine a parallel arc to the Clone Wars, where the first two episodes are upbeat (teaming up with Rex and other clones, storming Tantiss, rescuing the clones and kids, surprise help from Ventress, etc) and the last two are tragic beyond belief (Empire ambushes, clones are wiped out, Vader vs Ventress duel as a riff on past Anakin vs Ventress duels, very few escape). Granted I've been pleasantly surprised by Rampart showing back up. Didn't realize I'd like him as much as I do.
In the TV series, "Quantum Leap", there is a scene where an evil person (Evil Leaper?) says that they were just following orders, and then (former military) Al says, "Where have I heard that before?"
I don't even know what a conclusion to this show ought to look like anymore. I can't see how they are adding additional things to resolve with Rampart suggesting that Crosshair will betray the Bad Batch again because he hasn't grown beyond self-interest.
Really enjoyed Rampart this episode, thought he was going to die mutable times this episode first with the malfunctioning cable, then I almost expected a Jurassic Park style death when he separated from the group, probably by getting lost and killed by a creature, and finally when he got discovered by the troopers I almost expected a blaster to fire before the scene cut away. Still excited to see what they’re gonna do with him in the finale though and I’m interested to see who going to make it to the end of the series in general.
Hey Thor, what odds do you give that the end of the Bad Batch isn't on a good note. That the Bad Batch fails, Tantis is destroyed, everyone dies and the empire just moves on. I think this would be a very compelling way to end the show, similar to Rogue One... They've done it once, maybe they do it again?
I think Omega is going to be the one that dies while saving the children and her death ☠️ will put a kink in Dr Hemlock’s plans and his standing with the Emperor who we know is still experimenting with clones by the time of the sequel trilogy. If she doesn’t die I think she goes of with Ventress to train and her leaving her brothers will be the bittersweet ending.
Just crazy to think about Echo possibly dying next week. Just kind of hits now realizing we’ve been with this character for 15 going on 16 years, and were told he was dead for 9 of them. Asking myself now do I think Mount Tantiss would be a righteous ending for his character ? Maybe, if done right. If they’re going to kill off Echo they HAVE to top the Citadel episode. I might be biased being part of that age group that quite literally grew up with this character being a child during S1 of the Clone Wars in 2008. Glad he got some shine this episode, I really hope we get to see more of him and he can finally have that in depth talk with Rex about Fives.
I might be jumping the gun here but I am a little disappointed we don't seem to be getting the Clone Rebellion or closure on the fate of the Clones. I mean, we already know what happens to them by seeing the events of Kenobi and Rebels, but it would be cool to see the downfall. With one episode of the Bad Batch left, I feel like that's not going to happen and if it does happen, we won't see much of it. So, if we don't see it, unless we get a Tales of the Clones miniseries (which honestly, I'd be totally in favor of) the Clone Rebllion won't be seen in its full animated glory. Edit: Honestly, now that I think about it, I think a Tales of the Clones series would be awesome! They could follow the normal format where 3 episodes focus on one story (maybe the Clone Rebellion) and the other 3 focus on something else. Or heck, they could do a whole new format entirely and have each episode focus on a different clone trooper. Granted it'd be risky but there are examples in Clone Wars where a clone is introduced and dies in the same episode, but they still leave an impression, like Captain Kiri in season 3.
I was never a Echo fan the way others are and forgive my humor, but I always looked at him as the handicapped clone who needed to be looked after. This episode has finally given him his moment. There still needs to be a CX-3/Crosshair showdown. I asked a friend who doesn’t watch the show should I feel such anxiety that a really good show will be screwed up by them trying to do too much in a short amount of time? He lives Guam so I’m still waiting for an answer.
Last episode is gonna be real frantic. They already have a lot on their plate before considering Rex squad and clone x. It's surprising no one has died yet but the chaos that's about to ensue with freeing clones, rampart and emerie switching teams, getting multiple force sensitives out the building, and setting a zillo beast loose can definitely combine for a few deaths.
I could totally see this show being cancelled and the staff behind it having to say that "This was their vision all along" (which is what was widely speculated happened with Resistance if I recall correctly) But I honestly think that the staff probably realized that (while great characters in and of themselves) you can only do so much with The Bad Batch. The fact that this final season has focused so heavily on them and seemingly dropped a lot of the other "big picture" plotlines makes me think that they're saving a lot of those things for a successor show with a more broad scope like something in the vein of a show focusing on The Hidden Path. How this factors into the finale I'm not exactly sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to see most if not all of the members of the batch survive and be integrated into this potential successor show
Well, I enjoyed it but it was also another example of an episode that when it ended left me going "that's all!?" I don't see how they can possibly do justice to the unresolved story threads in another 20 minute episode. At this point, I'm preparing to be disappointed.
going into the series finale, i am just very grateful to the animation team for the work they have done on this show, it wasn't perfect, but as a Clone Wars fan i have thoroughly enjoyed it
There's just too many questions to be answered, even for a special hour long episode. Thus, I would prefer for them not even try to answer them, instead shifting those mysteries for the next show. Instead, I want them to focus on providing a fitting and emotional end to Clone Force 99, because there's just no way all of them are making it out alive imo; their armor had been blacked out, they're not with Rex in Rebels, etc. Besides Omega, I'm guessing Dr. Karr survives and either Echo or Crosshair; I'm betting Echo because it seems like the Clone Rebellion is going to shifted into the next show.
My guess. They all die. That's about all you can do in a regular-length episode with so many loose ends. Also, assuming that to keep the future Rebellion from knowing about the facility and its location, they're all going to have to die -- and I mean all of the cast. Which is another reason why I don't believe Rex will be showing up. We know Rex survives and if he knows the location of Mount Tantiss, so will the future Rebellion -- which supposedly it doesn't. Anyhow, while there have been things I've liked about Disney Plus Star Wars, and things I didn't like, overall, knowing that it all leads to that dumpster fire of a sequel trilogy, I cannot approve any of it. If only Disney would pretend the sequel trilogy never happened (at least as far as the new material they've been producing). But the fact that they're not only *not* ignoring it, but tripling down and rushing full speed ahead into it, means everything they do is going to be tainted for those of us who despise the sequel trilogy, and we will therefore just have to content ourselves with the material produced prior to that debacle and forego on anything produced since.
It was a good episode. The only part I didn't like was the "suspense" of whether the mean scientist would catch Omega when she was out exploring, considering that literally just happened last week too. It's unfortunate that "The Bad Batch" is coming to an end, since it felt like it just started to hit it's stride about halfway through season 2 and has been on a roll since; it feels like its ending right when it is starting to get going.
I really hope the finale is long like the first episode. I’m excited to see the Zillo Beast getting involved. We better see Rex and Wolffe come to the rescue and join the fight for the finale! I’m also expecting members to die which is what I’m not looking forward to. Watching The Bad Batch over these three seasons, I’ve loved seeing the squad grow, develop, and be a family. It’s gonna be devastating knowing that some of them won’t make it out alive. I think a very strong prediction as to who won’t make it is definitely Crosshair and Hunter. Omega will definitely survive, I can see Wrecker surviving. I’m not sure about Echo. It’s safe to say that Tech is officially dead. I know a lot of people were hoping he wasn’t because we didn’t see his body, so people started to speculate, but I believe it’s the best thing to keep him dead. We’ve had a lot of characters who we all presumed dead to come back alive.
What if the version of Crosshair in the batch now is a clone with the original Crosshairs memories embedded. Scorch or the other assassin is the real crosshair. This might explain the hand shaking not as PTSD but a byproduct of the cloning process.
3:19 when it comes to pacing and having the smaller episodes, I think the creators are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. On one hand in order to avoid people signing up and canceling memberships, Disney once weekly releases for everything. You would want to have different pacing for a show you’re planning to binge watch versus a weekly release. However, the moment the last episode drops forever, and always for the rest of time the show will be something you can binge watch. So for the biggest fans who are going to watch it weekly as it releases shortly after it releases, you need one kind of pacing for everybody who will tune to watch the show for the rest of time you would probably want different pacing.
I would also like to bring up the fact that, for the past 3 weeks at least, when I turn on Disney+, there are 10 or 12 "featured" programs at the top of the screen, and The Bad Batch is NOT one of them. How do you remove one of your hottest shows going from your "featured" section? Baffling. I would love to blame the Hulu integration, but that would only make sense if Hulu bought Disney. Just venting...good breakdown, as usual.
I think they will drop all of these high M-count kids to Ventress to be trained along with Omega, as they will come to believe that she is safest with her off the grid like she is, as will the other captive children.
The Good: The highlight for me was Echo teaming up with Emerie. I'm glad that the writers are presenting Hemlock as a smart villain rather than taking the overconfident route that has been overplayed since Tarkin and the original Death Star. The Bad: THIS is the penultimate episode? This episode assures that the Batch meet their end at Mount Tantiss. Rampart just getting captured by the stormtroopers is a letdown: it would be more interesting if they actually did something with him, such as - let him survive and escape to, say, Niamos, and then get apprehended by a K2 droid, and wind up on Narkina 5 Level 2, and be the one that was the cause for the uprising when he got reassigned instead of released.. LOL The Zillo beast? Is that really their play for the finale? Ugh.. Oh well. You know that Disney likes their beasts, whether it be The Hulk, the Mythosaur or the Rancor in the Book of Boba Fett finale.. Just a let down. I hope that I'm pleasantly surprised with a spurious turn of events in the finale, but I don't have high hopes. I guess this really is just a kid's show.
It Honestly would be crazy if hemlock has his own version of order 66 and that's what crosshair knows and that's why it's been throwing him off this whole time
A few thoughts, first time commenting love the channel though! This penultimate episode might've been the best episode of the season. Omega is definitely force sensitive. And this show just continues to look so so good
Hey Thor, I do feel like I’m in a very small minority of people who are struggling to get very excited about where this show is going. Despite improved characterisation (for some), some better writing and definitely dramatic tension, I can’t help that it’s all not for very much really. So far this season, Omega was captured, then escaped, gave herself up and is in the process of escaping/ being rescued. Beyond that, we’ve learned that she has blood that helps transfer m-count and that the Emperor has a top secret plan to clone himself - which we knew anyway. Oh, and Ventress turned up and left, and we’ve got some cute kids to rescue too. I guess what I’m not getting from this story are any stakes because they haven’t really been explained to us beyond ‘we need to save Omega - again’. Is that it? Nothing about the significance of the research has really been explained so whether they do or don’t manage to stop it doesn’t seem to matter because no one has explained why it matters and no one seems to care (except for maybe echo). I’d really appreciate a discussion on this because I haven’t seen anyone even mentioning how superficial the story is when you really look at it. Thanks.
Remember you talking about the Marvel recipe? How, people may not like it, but they need to see it? Star Wars has a recipe of its own. Want to know how it all _really_ ends? Stay tuned for the new Asaj series! There may also be some teaser info about Omega in the Acolyte! (Even though it's a completely different timeline and has nothing to do with the Clone Wars). Or, if they really do a Rey movie, there might be something in that. DSW links their lore without actual regard to the lore if that makes sense. With all that being said, I like the Bad Batch. I don't like Disney. I think their influence is a disease on Star Wars. Me and my family wanted a couple more seasons of Bad Batch, or longer episodes with connecting arcs or more shorter episodes with connecting arcs. Even my 9 year old is asking at the end of each one, "Wait, that's it???"
The Bad Batch is my favorite Star Wars show. Omega is awesome. We've watched her be trained as a CC commando by the Republic's best clones. I wish she got more training from Crosshair, but she has already learned much from him. In my dream scenario, they all escape. The Zillo beast eats Hemlock, and the clones go recolonize Kamino.
I hope we get some sort of epilogue to the bad batch. Two or three extra episodes showing how this will all play out after the end. Seems like there is going to be a ton of loose ends and the show has been great so it deserves it.
I really like this show, but I do have a minor complaint with how they've handled Star Wars lately. In that Disney keeps stringing us along. "There will only be one season of Ahsoka". Alright, so I'm geared up for an awesome story that for sure will wrap up by the end of the season. Nooooope. "Bad batch is THE sequel to clone wars". They make us fully believe that we will see an end to the clone's story and have some closure. Oh, wait, jk... I'm tired of ground work being layed in shows where we're led to believe that we're getting something that they know we aren't going to get yet. They can't keep messing with my head like that! 😂
Disney has built their entire version of Star Wars around doing precisely what you described - if loosing money hasn’t changed the trajectory it’s highly unlikely fan reaction will 😅
@jcrazy9008 I don't see how they can either. About 6 episodes ago I thought for sure we'd see alot of sadness and death, but now I feel like most of them will survive and their story will continue on in another series. I do think it will be a good episode like you say though.
So Thor, I think the BIG question is "Why bother with introducing Omega?" I don't think her story is about midichlorians and cloning. I think it is something MORE than that, probably a lot more. What do you think?
Hey Thor, I get that there are people who don't like midichlorions, saying they apparently break the universe and ruin the force. Some say they don't like the idea that not everyone can use the Force and that it all it should take is for you to believe in it. I've been thinking on that for a while and personally, I can't stand the idea that literally anyone can use the Force for a number of reasons. The first is my biggest issue with this idea and that is the massive plot hole this could cause, arguably one bigger than the holdo manuver. If everyone has the potential to use the force, then why don't we see more Force users than just the jedi and sith? Why don't we see bounty hunters use it, or why don't vader or the emperor train their military to use the force? Instead of manufacturing a clone army, why didn't the jedi train regular people to use the force against battle droids? I'd argue that would give them pretty good odds. Also, instead of thousands of jedi, why aren't there millions? Another reason is that I feel this undermines the importance of the jedi. I know you don't want jedi to become superheroes, and believe me, I don't either, but one attribute they have that can apply to the jedi is that the reason they stand up to great evils or a major threat is because no one else can. If everyone has the capability of becoming a Force user, why do they even need the jedi? Why even protect a galaxy when it can protect itself. It also makes the jedi seem selfish for not sharing this power with other people so they won't need them anymore. It could've been done a thousand generations ago and it probably would have prevented conflicts or prepare people for them. The last reason is that I find it less spiritually meaningful. Imagine the honor and privilege of being gifted a power most people don't have. By making it accessible to everyone you essentially water it down and it becomes less special. It's what syndrome said in the incredibles, "If everyone's super, no one will be." Overall, I find "you don't choose the force, the force chooses you" more meaningful than "you get the force, you get the force, and you get the force." Plus, with this I think you can make a pretty interesting dynamic between the jedi and sith. The jedi believe that because the force chose them, that gives them a sense of responsibility to protect the galaxy and safeguard the peace, whereas the sith have a sense of entitlement, seeing themselves above others and that because the force chose them, that makes them the rightful rullers of the galaxy. It plays perfectly into the theme of selfless vs selfish. I also want to say that by having force users be a minority in a galaxy if trillions, it better explains why han didn't believe in the force. Darth bane believed that tales of the jedi were greatly exaggerated and were the stuff of legend, which is pretty easy to assume if most people can't use the force. Before I end this comment, I want to say yes, I am aware of the 'karate' quote that George Lucas said in 1983. But, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think he has said anything else to support this idea since. I think it's more likely that he may have changed his mind overtime, because the prequels seem to contradict this idea. Where I stand is, if it was said a long time before the rest of the story was finished and it didn't make it into the final product as a whole, then it can be disregarded. Overall, thoughts?
This doesn't feel like a pre-finale episode in the way it should. Plenty of good things going on, for sure, but it doesn't have the tension that it needs. Makes me worried the last episode won't be on the longer side and won't sufficiently wrap up the characters and their arcs. This season is making me feel like we should have gotten just one more, although with the way the story has played out this season, continuing it from this current state sadly doesn't make sense. Either way, I'm still overall optimistic that they'll stick the bittersweet landing.
As much as I like Season 3, the latter half of it feels stretched. Like they were forced to prolong the story to a given episode amount or cut it up into smaller bits to pad the lenght of the season. The story and pacing have suffered from this drip feed style of episodes. I believe this season would have been much better and packed a bigger punch had they condensed the season to, say, 10 episodes each about 30 minutes in length (instead of 15 at 20 min), cutting a few of the "filler" episodes out (or combining their stories) and keeping the tension rising all through the season. Now it started to gather momentum, then hit a lull, then started again only to fall a bit flat again and now I'm left wondering how the heck can they stick the landing with just one episode left and so much to cover. Some of these last episodes, while enjoyable, have seemed quite frustrating with their short lengths, as just as the episode is hitting its stride, it's credits screen and see ya next week.
I think the next series will be on the clones like Rex Echo Wolffe Gregor and all those others Rex has been making a sort of army of and we could see the bad batch show up in bits although i do think their enemy has been built up to be the assasin clones or clone X but they are a hemlock experiment and I think theres no way Hemlocke survives so idk who their enemy would be if that is the next series
I gotta say I'm kinda over the clones and their story. When I was kid listening to the E.U books I got the impression the story of the clones was a more tragic one. That most of them died relatively soon after the clone wars, mainly due to accelerated aging and that only a handful were still around. Maybe I'm too jaded now but I'm tired of secret rebellion stories and redemption arcs for every bag guy. I'm not saying star wars needs to go game of thrones. But I'd like to see more competent bad guys, who are bad for their own selfish reasons. Palpatine is a great villain, and not misunderstood. Most of me would like to see the bad batch, and Omega all get killed by the empire.
Hey Thor... What about Omega getting out with the 4 force kids, they get to Ventris, and her with them is the next show? With maybe only Wrecker left...
I could certainly see something like that. Ventress is pretty much the only Force user she knows (other than Gunji) and if she had a few Force Sensitive kids in tow, she'd probably seek her out for help.
Yes but echo can easily avoid every soldier in the hangar .. in the end it doesn't really change anything
@@dancingvalkyrie a hero is only as good as his villain. If the villain is garbage then the hero is garbage too.
"Thanks for the hand." The classics are ALWAYS in style.
Hemlock is more Thrawn than actual Disney canon Thrawn himself.
He is calm, collected, extremely intelligent and thus very intimidating as a villain.
I really love him as an antagonist. He doesn’t get that much screen time but he’s used effectively every time.
The future of Star Wars seems to truly be in animation. Most of what ends up failing in live action, the animated shows somehow manage to nail.
After Jedi Survivor, it’s really good to hear Noshir Dalal do more voice acting in Star Wars. He was incredible in that game…
In fairness to Rampart, it was a crashing, pilot-less ship, in enemy territory, above wild hostile jungles, without a parachute or anything. Even seasoned soldiers would be inclined to holler there lol.
@@DRivi93 Yes I know, but it was just particularly funny seeing this "cool, calm, sassy guy" absolutely lose his mind
@@Killerbee4712 I loved the whole episode but that scream was the highlight for me
@@meg1827 Yup. It was so loud and wild, I had to pause the video to laugh
Never thought I would enjoy seeing Rampart take part in goofy hijinks adventures with the batch
Really feeling like the Clone Wars origins, gives me big “Dooku tied to Obi-Wan and Anakin” vibes
Wrecker getting slashed and killed by that jungle creature would’ve been the perfect unceremonious death Thor’s been talking about. Imagine they’re finally at the castle’s gate, everything has to go right going forward, and he gets taken out by an enemy hiding in the bush.
That would be terrible for his character and the development of the crew
I think it was awesome the way they did it. Gave his armor an awesome looking gash
@@cael4065 The Bad Batch have no development. They still act like goofballs and constantly screw around like they did in season 1
That would have been stupid
@@dancingvalkyrie Did you just not watch the series? Or are you too oblivious to see how they’ve all changed
If the next episode is not extra long, whether that be double or triple length, then that means we won't get Rex joining the raid. It also means things are going to go bad FAST. The only way to quickly wrap up everything is to kill everyone.
We still have one trailer shot of Rex that hasn't come up yet so one way or another he is most definitely in the finale.
@@Solo13508and dialogue from Rex too. He’s definitely in the finale
It's only 30 minutes...
@@Solo13508 It wouldn't be the first time something was in a trailer that didn't make it into the finished product.
@@Solo13508 he’s gotta be in the finale it be pretty weird that they kinda just don’t address him in someway shape or form given that rumor has it the next animated show is going to be a clone revenge of the Sith show…
"Realise the Kraken... I mean... The Zillo Beast!"
- Omega
Probably because he was never anyone important to begin with. Just like Marrok but no one believed that until he died either.
Rampart was a highlight once again. Providing levity and his VA did a great job with his screaming.
Bold prediction: Wrecker and Echo survive but are bisected, they combine into one super strong robo-clone. New show is called "Wrecko".
Just hope the series finale is as long as Rebels’ finale or as long as The Bad Batch’s series premiere episode
I really thought rampart was going to die when his cable jammed.
How we still don’t have episodes longer than 20 minutes is mind baffling to me. It’s not like these shows are made for tv anymore. For comparison, Shogun episodes are no less than an hour long and those are live action.
Animation should always be 20 minutes. These shows are made for tv and when don’t try to be tv shows they fail
@matthewshort4466 that makes zero sense lol
I think the reason the episodes are so short is that they don’t want to go through the effort of animating them.
It’s probably a budget thing they either get longer runtimes and less episodes or standard tv runtimes and more episodes
It would have been hilarious if Echo stunned Emerie, to keep the gag of her constantly being stunned going.
That would’ve been so good. I was low-key kind of hoping he would…
Her: “Echo…”
Him: “Ahhh shit, now I gotta stun this hoe”
I can't help but worry that this show will spin off into "Adventures of Omega, Asajj and the Rainbow Kids"
I really been loving the show this season. But agreed idk how they're gonna wrap up a whole series in 1 episode that's Satisfying and builds towards the next show. I just want it to end on a high note even if they don't check off every box
Rampart screaming like girl I was laughing
🙃
I also want to add that if anyone should be guilty about Tech, it should be Hunter not Crosshair.
Last episode should be called ''99 problems but a Binks ain't one''
I really don't know how they're going to wrap everything up in one short episode. My theory is that the final episode is 70-80 mins long like the the first episode, or that on May 4th we get a final 16th episode, the show starting and finishing on the same day of the year.
It's like poetry, it rhymes...
@@leewalker8207 exactly ;)
@@Silverxvi that's what I thought until they revealed that we're getting tales of the empire on 4th
I think Echo is your “unceremonious death” guy. I feel like he gets to the vault only to be shot in the back by scorch or hemlock
I realized earlier that next week might be the last time we ever see Echo, whether he lives or dies
I had hoped this episode would have been a little longer. We needed more
Wrecker is so going down they've been toeing the line repeatedly and eventually it's gonna catch up.
If the last episode is 70 minutes that’s basically 4 episodes in one minus 15 minutes
I have a feeling, grampa Tarkin will come, complain about too much Bickering, and have a Star Destroyer Fleet Blast the hell out of Mount Tantiss
Maybe they will release the zillo beast and it can finally get its revenge on palpatine by going kaiju on his lab.
If she doesn’t die I think she goes of with Ventress to train and her leaving her brothers will be the bittersweet ending.
one way i can imagine it all being wrapped up in one episode is nearly every clone getting massacred
Echo’s been having difficulty unplugging lately. 😬
The trooper outfit is really convenient.
The episodes are too dam short to be dripping them out once a week.
How this factors into the finale I'm not exactly sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to see most if not all of the members of the batch survive and be integrated into this potential successor show
For the first time in a long time I am actually pumped for a Star Wars show finale!!!! And dad to see it end
Plot Twist: All the members of the Bad Batch survive and nothing bad happens
I don't imagine everyone coming out of this alive, especially if they're involving the Zillo Beast.
3:19 I just finished the final episode and I do think they managed to wrap things up nicely.
That would be kind of interesting.
A surviving Mace Windu would be perfect for saving force sensitives
I hope we get a longer episode next week or a surprise 16th. I almost wonder if Crosshair is going to get deleted.
thor skywalker I really liked that episode and I’m looking forward for the season finale
I didn't like that Echo can just take his head implant off. That didn't make any sense at all.
And this show just continues to look so so good
I hope Rex shows up to help out next episode
There had to be something to the crosshair and rampart conversation.
Has anyone said that maybe the destruction that Cassian saw in the first Andor episode was the destruction of Tantis?
Thanks.
I think this season has been dogshit.
I bet Omega will release the Zillo beast, possibly accidentaly, which will then cause the chaos needed for the Batch to do some rescuing
Good bet the kids in the vault are the first kids in the Path.
You’d think one of the first things they do as they enter the atmosphere is send coordinates to Rex?
I noticed echo was trying to access terminals pretty much any chance he got. Maybe he was contacting Rex?
I hope we get some sort of epilogue to the bad batch. Two or three extra episodes showing how this will all play out after the end. Seems like there is going to be a ton of loose ends and the show has been great so it deserves it.
Man, a lot of things went right. I'm worried.
hey did it again! big monster in this episode, AND set up a different big monster in the finale, lol
Disney has built their entire version of Star Wars around doing precisely what you described - if loosing money hasn’t changed the trajectory it’s highly unlikely fan reaction will 😅
You make a good point. I also don't see how they can wrap up this whole show in 1 episode but hopefully it's at least a great episode
Here is a question- Will Omega ride the Zillo beast or not? She is good with animals, right?
If Echo dies it will finalize the complete wasting of his character. So weird how the show has meandered with him, considering how interesting he is
I know they are all supposed to die but i know for sure echo is gone since he left his armor on the ship lol
I don't care what happens as long as Eva goes home.
