Well-detailed explanation on the pros and cons of every decision making of a jungler's pathing and thought process in getting a small lead. Just saw your channel and deserved more subscribers. Please keep it up.
Phylaris, your videos have improved my jungling beyond belief. Thank you brotha. I am a returning season 1 player and I suck. But damn when I can implement what you coach in your vids. It’s like I’m learning the game for the first time. My mind couldn’t even comprehend this shit without you speaking it into existence. No need to waste 100 games on my own to figure it out.
If u check out his stream just make sure your headset mic is down quite a bit if his team is doing some stupid plays and dieing! Speaking of his gameplay it speaks for itself being 4/0/7 i think 100CS ahead he is every game 1v9 centric just from his competitive personality he has as a human. IDK what Romania did to him but he is taking anger out on the rift. I like Aribo though he literally plays my exact champ pool of Udyr/Voli/Morde. I dont question his gameplay at all in mid game because every vod ive watched of him if your a high elo player it should be an automatic thought of hey this Udyr is X/X/X and 100CS ahead we cant fight til he gets here and just not get caught out. He was raging as that fight was about to and taking place at enemy red buff I can guarantee. But his lead he had was too massive and he closed the game out before his team could int it away.
Totally agree. IDK were this thing is comeing from, were jglers get flamed for farming their jg, when the team is in NO rush to do ANYTHING. There is NO reason not to be efficient, clear out jg first and then grp to fight the exact same fight u would have fought 40 secs earlier, only that ur now 20 cs more in the lead and got ur camps on cd. The unfortunate reality of soloq is that some sht players dont like to play around that fact. U can never fault aribo for the play, cuz its the right play. The only thing u can say, is that u could accept the reality of it being soloq and u haveing to prevent ur team from inting. But even then. If u farm this efficiently on udyr, he will prolly just 1 v 9 even if his team ints. So i totally agree that its the right playstyle for borh soloq and competetiv udyr.
I think Agurin's Khazix would be great to cover! He doesn't primarily speak English on his streams/vids but he's consistently Rank 1 on EUW and has one of the most unique kha playstyles out there. Would be cool if you could break down his gameplay and possible strategy he may be thinking of!
On the first clear his awakened was on cd for like 10 seconds but he also finished at 3:20, so that's probably fine most of the games no? The entire discussion around 12:40 is so helpful. Look at the state of top and make the decision to delay the recall or run top side asap. 18:12 taking raptors is a bit greedy but gives bot time to push out the wave, assuming that ezreal can stay safe, and the two players in mid can push out their wave as well so i think it works out.
I mean the commentary is pretty good, but if I may level with you here, I expected something slightly different when I got randomly suggested this video. I thought I was going to get some in-depth analysis of an Udyr player or what might set them apart from others. You know, like why highlight the champion name in the title and all that else? To my misfortune, this has nothing of that sort. This is just your usual high elo solo q game and nothing stands out in favor of Udyr. My point is, this doesn't really showcase this players' understanding of Udyr as a champion, just their high elo understanding of the game as a whole, which is why I think the title and video are really just bait. This might sound like a troll, but when it comes to Udyr, Trick2g's gameplay is a prime example of what I mean. His gameplay is so finely tuned around this champion, it's insane. That's the kind of mastery I was thinking of when clicking on this video. Not just some basic ass high elo replay where the Udyr could have been literally any other champion.
I would have just full cleared because camp respawns by the time I clear wraiths and krugs I'd be full hp to contest skud and help Jax if needed. But is that wrong and why?
@@Phylaris A little background on him: last season he streamed from 0 lp masters to rank 1 in 32h or so, he went like 29/6 (can't remember the exact number) but he couldn’t get rank 1 because he had to wait to promote to gm and then challenger lmao, the other rank 1 at the time was another great jglr called Majiajia also known as Sally, he is probably the best Nidalee on the superserver, he used to boost and finished rank 1 and 2 in like 2019 with 2300 and 2000 respectively
Yo @Phylaris, I found this OCE master Pantheon player that play pantheon with electrocute instead of the classic PTA/Conqueror and he has an 80% win rate with it (in more than 50 games), that could be super cool if you could do an video on his playstyle ! His name is Timor stronges

I get that there's a lot to talk about with the whole map state but 5 minutes to talk about what udyr should do on second recall is incredibly excessive. There's no way you couldn't with a little thought condense that into 90s of pause and continue talking as he recalls and paths. Think that would increase the watchability by 300% Edit: It also seems like you haven't watched the replay before commenting on it, if you watched through even on 2x speed and make a couple notes on what you want to talk about it would flow a lot more smoothly. Some fights like at 19:00 in mid lane you rewind to watch when the audience isn't learning anything and you could just make an offhand comment that the enemy team is trolling and this fight is good for udyr. Also later when you talk about udyr going to krugs and talking about greedy players it would be way better if you knew what was about to happen and you could talk about it in that context rather than talking about it and then rehashing it later. Also you seem to take great pains to explicitly say that you're not biased and it's just your preference but I feel like if you just laid out the pros and cons you'll be much more concise and you can talk about which pros or cons show up later in the game by calling back to what you said rather than pausing to try and be neutral. Sorry for the novel lol
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try not to take pauses that are too long - sometimes there's just a lot to talk about, and it's rare to find YT videos that take the time to go in-depth on some concepts and decision points, so I don't like to brush over them. Anyone that wants to just watch through a player's games rapidly can just watch their VODs directly, so I feel like the more complex teachable moments are actually the most important part of a useful VOD commentary. That being said, this one did drag too long so I'll try to keep them more concise. I don't like to watch VODs in advance because it skews my commentary toward what I already know the player will do/what will happen. I think it's really important to try to assess situations as they come, based on active variables rather than known outcomes, or a lot of confirmation bias inevitably creeps into the analysis. I watch these VODs with just as much intent to learn as intent to teach, as the players I'm reviewing are much more experienced on their champions than I am. But I agree it can compromise the viewer experience if there's too many moments where I'm caught off-guard and have to rewind. Perhaps I can do more work in post to edit these bumps out and keep the video more streamlined. I agree that I take too much time stating what I would've done, when it would be a more streamlined learning experience if I just directly discussed the pros/cons of their decision relative to what I'd consider the standard play. It's mostly a result of these commentaries being recorded live, and me kind of doing my best to interpret their decisions through the lens of my own experience. I think this'll hopefully improve as I go and get less clumsy with sort of commentating/casting these games, as I'm still new to it.
@@Phylaris Appreciate the response glad you're really thinking about it! I can see where confirmation bias can creep in but I feel like the way you naturally commentate talking about pros and cons of every decision mitigates that to some degree. I also appreciate the fact that you're learning just as much as you're teaching from the vods but no offense any part of the video where you're learning is way less valuable to the viewer than the parts where you're teaching. Obviously your time is valuable so reviewing a vod and turning it into a lesson plan where you're condensing what you've learned takes way more time and might not be worth it, just something to consider. You probably will get much better as you keep doing this, I'll keep watching!
@@TheNorwegianThunder This might sound strange coming from an educational content creator, but it's actually really important to me that I don't come across too much as an authority in these videos. I want to provide useful information to viewers, but the reality is that in almost every video, I'm going to be missing some key points or getting some things wrong. It's pretty unavoidable given that I'm mostly reviewing other high ELO players that are better than me at their champions, and many of whom are also better than me as junglers overall. So I really want to make sure that I only sound confident when I'm actually confident, and that I sound more unsure when I'm not actually sure. For example I really want to do a Talon jungle video on Kaostanza (rank 1 EUW S11/12) but his understanding of the champion completely outclasses mine. If you take a look at his guide on Mobafire you'll see what I mean - the depth to which he understands the champion and adapts his itemization from game-to-game is insane, and I get a little lost even just reading through it to try to understand. So I would never be presumptuous enough to create a lesson-plan style video based on one of his Talon VODs, as I'm sure I'd just end up confidently spreading a lot of misinformation. But I think it can still be fun to do a video on him, because I'm sure I'll still be able to offer some insights that most of my viewers wouldn't catch if they were watching on their own, and it exposes viewers to players they may not have previously known about that they can then research further into on their own if they're interested. I guess the tldr; is I wish I was a good enough player to confidently create the kind of to-the-point instructive content you're looking for about each champion, but I'm not, and I don't want to hide my shortcomings or viewers may end up with the wrong idea.
