      Was it easy to set the gimbal up inverted - does it come with a GUI or did you have to flip the sensor? I ran a 2 axis a few years back - but the three axis is so much better. Nice flight.

      The location is beautiful. Such colors pop and zoom when flying close to the ground. The gimble camera steadies the video very nicely. The other camera shots in the corners make this easy to compare and contrast. And the overall presentation was masterfully done. Doesn't really need much editing! Very well done, sir.

      I've programmed the 2 dials on the top of the Taranis for Pan and tilt. Then there is a 3 position switch to change between the 3 modes. I also have a video switcher so i can view the live feed through my FPV camera or the gimbal camera to frame shots. If you're interested to learn more I made a video on how this gimbal works and how to configure it: th-cam.com/video/8QE-AkNUOvY/w-d-xo.html

    Have you ever tried fixed exposure?

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No because I doubt the results would be good. With the plane sometimes pointing into bright areas and towards the sky, and then darker areas around the ground, the exposure wouldn't work for both. Also the cameras on this flight were fairly cheap and are old tech now :) Cheers

    Hey Adam, I've been watching your videos for a while. Nice work! Love the gimbal in this one.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Connor Spies hey, thanks for the comment and for taking the time to watch my videos. The plane is capable and I have done rolls like that in the past, but unfortunately I wouldn't do it now as the gimbal doesn't like it. I'll see if I have any old footage of this plane doing loops though

    • @connorspies
      @connorspies 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, that makes sense. I could see that causing issues with the gimbal. Anyway, thanks for the reply, Adam!

  • @WX4CB
    @WX4CB 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    awesome. the only thing i would mention about the gimbal on a plane, you need to allow a little bit of roll in there - obviously not as much as in the fpv view, but it looks weird just "sliding" to change direction. That's a personal opinion, but just something i noticed - either way, great video

    • @AdamGdoesFPV

    • @AdamGdoesFPV

    Pretty countryside. The gimbal does a great job at steadying the camera - i use one myself, i think they are fantastic. I'm assuming you use a flight controller (FC) to control your aeroplane. If the gimbal can control the angle of the camera, why can't the FC control the aeroplanes control surfaces so that it keeps the aeroplane flying straight and level until you input changes? Is it just the mode you fly so you're having to make adjustments all the time? Do you need to make adjustments all the time? Could you let go of the joystick and would the FC fly the aeroplane itself? I much about with multirotors so I don't know much about aeroplanes. Love the video. Nice music. Thanks for posting!

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My flight controller does keep the plane flying level just as you described (Stabilise mode), or you can fly fully manual. It also has another 3 or 4 automated flight modes so you can have as much or as little control as you like. In stabilise mode its so easy to fly I let my wife fly it over a lake no problem, and she's never flown an rc plane before.For info on all the kit on board this plane check out the video description :)

    Awesome video ..... I have a question I’m not good at this stuff ..... the 800 mw vtx is that for the long distance video link and do I have to get a new transmitter ? I use a old 8 Channel. DX8 at the moment ...... looking forward for yr reply thanks

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The VTX power is not so important, but more so it’s the antennas that you use for video. Your DX8 is for you control link which is completely separate from the video link, so you don’t need to replace that. My advice though is to avoid using 2.4g for your control link in combination with 1.2g for your video link, it doesn’t work well.

  • @skateyuk
    @skateyuk 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    What distances do you fly, and do you need a drone license to do this?

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need a drone licence to fly anything unless you are doing it for commercial use. The distances you are allowed to fly are determined by the laws in your country. These limits are in place for a good reason as people can't be trusted to do it safely. I do fly beyond these limits but only if I am sure it is a safe flight in the right environment. Hope this helps.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mansell only if I know I’m not going to fly far at all, or if it’s a very small build. To me 1.2g is far superior in every way, it just has the downside of component size and having to setup a ground station.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV

    Hi, have you extra software stabilized your gimbal footage? I can see some typical SW stabilization artifacts.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's actually the Firefly has it's own stabilisation, which i didn't mean to have on. I don't like the affect it gives so it's off now

    which mixing mode did you use on the autopilo?

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, not sure if I used any mixing mode on the AP. I used the Skywalker as the template model in the AP and made small changes from there. Hope this helps

    Do you use any GPS tracker in the planes now or just rely on Recording of flight in case you lose another ..? I would be kind of gutted to lose a Rig like that .!

      @AdamGdoesFPV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no tracker on board. I'd just user DVR footage if there was a problem. Just a risk you take in this hobby i guess.

    Fantastic video as always Adam. That gimbal was working overtime in places. What make is it?

      Thanks Mark :) It's a Feiyu Tech MiNi3D Pro, I have a video here all about the gimbal including a demo of the modes: th-cam.com/video/8QE-AkNUOvY/w-d-xo.html

    Do you think it's possible to use your -Feiyu Tech FY MiNi3D PRO 3 Axis Gimbal with a runcam2 ??

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd need to create some sort of bracket to hold it, doesn't seem ideal to me. I'd be more likely to buy a cheap gopro copy like the firefly 6s i'm using in this video.

    Nice setup, great pic quality on the DVR, wasn't surprised to see dragonlink in the credits, off to look for a video on your setup now.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers :) The DVR recording is from my goggles and isn't as good as the quality i get from the recordings on my dedicated DVR. I do use Dragonlink in all my planes, it's just super reliable and their customer service is seconds to none.

    salut j'ai un 3536 750kv je pourrais l'utiliser pour ce genre d'avion ? avec quelle configuration

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I'm sure you could use that motor, but I don't know what configuration, you need to check the instructions for your motor. The motor I use is less than $35: SunnySky 920kv motor ► tiny.cc/iqcv0y

    So if i understand correctly, dragonlink is just the tx/rx link and not vtx/vrx link? I always thought dragonlink was video link

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Loaf3r correct, Dragonlink is for long range control only. The video system is separate

    I love all your vids Adam. What plane and setup would you recommend for an absolute beginner who has never flown RC planes before?

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for the great feedback. For a first every plane I'd recommend something like a Ranger G2 or a Hobbyking Bixler. Best planes to learn with, they are stable and forgiving.

    looks like footage from the gimbal was software stabilized

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was accidental, the Firefly 6S camera has built in stabilisation which I switched on to test and forgot to turn back off. Does weird things to the image :/

    How much does a setup like that for one plane and the transmitter and cameras cost?

      @AdamGdoesFPV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around £1,500. The expensive components are the googles, radio transmitter, UHF system, Antenna tracker & Autopilot.

      It's not to everyones taste and I was always unsure myself before i got it. I do like the Gimbal shots but I also like the fixed view, which is why I try to make my videos a mixture of both stabilised and non stabilised. Cheers
