YOU GUYS. Casper said he stayed behind to keep his dad company. He didn't have unfinished business. His dad knew Casper was lingering around him and that's why he invented the Lazarus. DUH! Love this pod!
I didn’t like Casper in the flesh lol. But I remember loving the romantic scene so much. And now I’m wondering why I liked it so much, and I’m realizing now that I liked Kat romantically as a child. I think because the movie was so ambiguous with live Casper it made me feel like I was the one walking through the party up to Kat.
So freaking true, but he Did build a machine - that works! He has no unfinished business because he talked to his son, most likely worked out his problems and death. (unless seeing how Casper couldn't remember his life or death- he decided to spare his son Casper the tragic and gresome truth. Thus allowing the father to go in peace. Plus he probably knew Casper's uncle's would keep him company. [Also Casper says he stayed for his dad at some point {he obviously didn't realize at first how he died so his spirit wasn't shaken} Maybe the dad thought that with him dying- and being on the same parallel world/field as Casper, he could take him out of pregutory (sorry my spelling sucks) but something went wrong. Like the father's 'finished business' wasn't of the human living world, being that his son's dead, and didn't count as an unfinished business?! His dad did all he could y'all. In the end it's every Soul to be judged for itself. So no unfinished business, just faith in his son to either use the machine or follow him. He obviously got screwed because Casper's immortal now.
This is likely a pointless request, but heck, I have a great recommendation. Would you please consider watching “Home for the Holidays” in November? This is one of Jodie Foster’s first films she directed. It’s one of the only Thanksgiving films out there. And I think it’s totally underrated. A pure pleasure in my mind, exactly what one wants in a holiday film. Just a thought!
This is a big part of my childhood, the first time I watched this was at home right when it was first VHS with my older sister and we loved it. A few months later I watched it in 5th grade, it was during our graduation party. The teachers didn't watch it for themselves beforehand and it's PG rated. Their minds were blown at the cursing and right as the end credits rolled our female teacher told us to never repeat the curses we just heard lol The most memorable part was when Devon Sawa first appears as human Casper, almost every single girl in the room gasped and did the slow swoon sigh in tandem. I was the lone hold out because I did that at home during my first viewing. All the boys were disgusted and annoyed with the girls' reaction lol Based on interviews I've read/watched, Devon Sawa knows that Casper helped make him a teen idol/crush for millennial women and he takes it in stride. Another reason this is a part of my youth is because The Backstreet Boys shot their music video for "Everybody" in Casper's house. The other movie that helped make him a teen idol was Now and Then.
A Guilty pleasure movie can absolutely a movie you loved when you were younger but have forgotten about it. Reliving old favorites. I’d forgotten how Star-studded this movie was.
Yes Garrick!! 9:36 I never realized just how insanely mesmerizing and beautiful Zach's eyes were until the the Red Carpet Facials video and I was so enraged that those babies have not been given enough close up screen time.
This movie was absolutely my sexual awakening when it came to Devon Sawa. To this day, he is my favorite actor. I am loving him in the new Chucky series on SyFy.
If ya'll read the comments: Zach, Garrick - I would love to hear ya'll do a podcast about anime. If ya'll ever want recommendations, please feel free to reach out to me. I've been watching anime since age 13, and still watch a ton of anime to this day.
Zach, Kelsey, Garrick I just wanted to leave a comment and say, from everyone, thank you so much for being literally the nicest, peppiest, most understanding people through this medium. I also want to say, because I’m an idiot LOL, I forgot to take my meds today and so now I’m detoxing… And Immediately turned on guilty pleasures because of your guys’ energy. Thank you.
I love the Try Guys. I love the Try Pods. I love Guilty Pleasures. And never before have I laughed so hard, so long, so often, in a single episode. Well effing done. *clap clap*
I cried multiple times watching Now and Then as an adult even though I loved watching it as a kid lol. I won't be watching that movie again for awhile 🤣
Home Alone reference was on point. Check out the TryGuys video where Zach and Keith plunge into a cold bath. They nailed it. I couldn’t stop laughing and rewinding that moment.
I remember that it was at least in the Florida Universal Studios because my dad wanted to go on the ride but my older sister was the only one who was able to go on; meanwhile, my mom, younger sister, and I waited for them outside.
Movie Suggestions from a person no one will listen to: -Better Off Dead (my absolutely favorite movie) -Little Nicky (entirely problematic, hilarious and 21% on Rotten Tomatoes) Guilty Pleasures is my favorite podcast, seconded by Confidently Insecure. Please keep up the amazingly entertaining content. I appreciate all of the time and effort that goes into all that y’all do! Thank you for your time.
Kelsey! I'm with you! Massive crush on Devon Sawa! also, Now and Then is amazing, maybe you could do it one day, maybe? Love you guys! You make my Mondays!
Oh man you guys have to do Now and Then! I love hearing that movie be mentioned! It was a coming of age when I was coming of age, it’s a classic and just the best
NO WONDER BACKSTREET'S BACK FEELS SO FAMILIAAAARRRRRRR. Also love this episode SO MUCH and all the ghost fucking talk, Zach+Kelsey+Garrick just reach PEAK
We need a Hayao Miyazaki movie on Guilty Pleasures. You can combine everybody's interests. It's anime, it's very technically sound, and there's always a strong female character to identify with. Top suggestions: Howl's Moving Castle Spirited Away Princess Mononoke Kiki's Delivery service If you're a millenial who watched Disney channel, Cartoon Network, or lived near a rental place, you've probably at least heard of these ones. The dubs are also pretty star-studded.
I would love it if you did an anime! Lot of Miyazaki in my childhood. Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky just to name a few lol
Just want to say that if I'll be in this podcast (in an alternative universe) I would have probably picked this as my guilty pleasure movie.. But its all pleasure for me ;) I still cry after watching this, even for the nth time
I can't believe I'm three days late, but I was SO DELIGHTED to hear Kelsey shout out Now and Then! Still one of my all time favourite movies and Devin Sawa WAS my sexual awakening lol. All I remember about Casper is that pirate shirt scene haha
Is it just me or does anyone else in their early to mid twenties forget that Kelsey, Zach and Garrick aren't the same age as us? For the last few episodes my views on these movies and how they were staples in my childhood are too spot on so I'm either way older than my birth certificate states or they're lying about their age, I'm confused but I love this.
Regarding seeing the crazy Up and Atum scene and being perfect for a ride, that is how I feel about Emperor's New Groove and how Yzma gets to her secret lab. Such missed opportunities 😩
As a fellow fivehead whose lesbian awakening was partially inspired by Christina Ricci, y'all better hope I don't turn into a ghost to come haunt your asses for this slander 😠
Universal almost made a ride at Universal Studios Orlando, but the sequel plans that never happened and other things were the reasons for it to being cancelled. However, they created a walk-through attraction of the mansion itself around the time it came out at the Orlando location and was there for just a little bit. I believe a walk-through Jurassic Park replaced it to promote the new Jurassic Park movie that came afterward. You can still see footage of it on YT.
You guys should do Little Giants. It is an underdog little football league with the actor who plays Casper. That movie was my first exposure to him in that movie before Casper.
i love this podcast so much!! i CAN'T wait for next weeks ep as over the garden wall is a masterpiece! garrick is a man with TASTE!! if kelsey manages to make horny jokes about this one too i will be very impressed
Kelsey was talking about 90s teen idols with the curtained hair style but she couldn't remember one of their names. My guesses, she's either talking about Erik von Detten or the late Jonathan Brandis.
can Kelsey and Garrick sit next to each other more? they act like unruly siblings Zach is trying to wrangle and it's so hilarious
The sexual tension between human Casper and every 10 year old girl in the country was PALPABLE
LMAO Devin Sawa 1995
Zach is 1000% that girl in glasses in a 90s movie that’s beautiful when she takes her glasses off finally and you somehow never knew.
10:02
Keith and Zach, both!
Garrick’s love of Zach’s eyes really is so pure.
If American Horror Story has taught me anything, You can indeed sleep with a ghost!
That was why I needed to know if you could get pregnant in their scenario.
But they're afraid to say fatso lmfao fuck
LMAO
ADD THIS TO THE MOVIE LIST: STUART LITTLE 🐭 Oh my God I would love to hear all your takes on that classic. HOLY SHIT🙌🏻
I. Fucking. Second. This.
YOU GUYS. Casper said he stayed behind to keep his dad company. He didn't have unfinished business. His dad knew Casper was lingering around him and that's why he invented the Lazarus. DUH!
Love this pod!
Thank YoU!!! Everyone else forgot this 😅!!!
We need to boost this comment so that the 3 of them finally have peace about this 😂😂
OK THANK YOU! I couldn't remember what it was but I DO remember that he said why he stuck around!
I always thought Casper's unfinished business was that he didn't get to live and grow up. Super sad b/c he can never do that.
I still get so sad over Casper talking about how he died. So freaking sad.
Right?? That was amazing voice acting tbh.
So excited for the Over the Garden Wall episode. I watch that entire series every spooky season.
It’s the best thing ever! The art, the story, the dialogue! I love how wirt is the classic angsty poet and greg is so optimistic and kind hearted
Big Mum energy from Kelsey when she was saying “do you want to talk anime?” to Garrick🤣 it was like she was talking to her son.
I never understood why Casper's dads ghost never existed... He had the most unfinished business.
😂😂😂😂💀
So freaking true, but he Did build a machine - that works! He has no unfinished business because he talked to his son, most likely worked out his problems and death. (unless seeing how Casper couldn't remember his life or death- he decided to spare his son Casper the tragic and gresome truth. Thus allowing the father to go in peace. That's why Casper was only alive for one dance. He spent most of his corporeal time relearning how to walk.
Lmao

This is one of Jodie Foster’s first films she directed. It’s one of the only Thanksgiving films out there. And I think it’s totally underrated. I just watched this last night! Casper is definitely basically Beetleguise for kids.
As someone who’s been ‘The New Kid’, the hostility was so relatable lol
This is a big part of my childhood, the first time I watched this was at home right when it was first VHS with my older sister and we loved it. A few months later I watched it in 5th grade, it was during our graduation party. The teachers didn't watch it for themselves beforehand and it's PG rated. Combine that with how much Nick carter and Devon Sawa looked alike. It's like it was meant to be.
If they are actually watching over the garden Wall next that is guaranteed my favorite episode. I’m excited!!!!
me too!!!!
-Bring It On
-Scooby Doo the movie (Spooky Island)
-After
-Aquamarine
-Grease
I literally had to stop the podcast just to watch the stair scene! How cute! Cats mom is beautiful btw!
I am now eating instant noodles, in a candle lit Bath, watching Casper. I would like to accredit this podcast for helping me live my best life 💃
53:04 omg when Kelsey started to windshield wiper her legs I snorted from laughing 😂
I've seen Casper and I just turned 21 this year, gotta say it's such a classic movie
Same, I'm 22 and I grew up watching this movie, I was getting heated when they were like "Oh you were way too young"😭
Kelsey's "what's his nuts" has me dyyying... freakin using that from now on lol
The fifth element and Clue. These are two movies you have to watch
I love anything friendly ghost. If it has a heavenly reward ending I always cry and I am not sure why! I get so touched. Amazing genre.
As someone with a large forehead, I feel personally victimized 😂
This movie was absolutely my sexual awakening when it came to Devon Sawa. To this day, he is my favorite actor. I am loving him in the new Chucky series on SyFy.
Yes!
If ya'll read the comments: Zach, Garrick - I would love to hear ya'll do a podcast about anime. If ya'll ever want recommendations, please feel free to reach out to me. I've been watching anime since age 13, and still watch a ton of anime to this day.
They could do a whole studio ghibli review and rank them would be sickkkkkk!
The way Kelsey pronounced Montreal has me baffled. In all my years, I've never heard it like that. :') Wild. Thanks for the chuckle.
Hell yes to over the garden wall! So excited
Longest bleep on the pod ever! 😂 (also Canada f***s with you too Kelsey! Please come here!)
I'm so happy/excited that they mentioned anime in this episode of the podcast. Tbh, I would totally watch a podcast of the crew talking about anime.
Ghosts having amnesia makes sense because death is such a traumatic event. Your mind is trying to protect itself
Zach, Kelsey, Garrick
I just wanted to leave a comment and say, from everyone, thank you so much for being literally the nicest, peppiest, most understanding people through this medium. The Ghostbuster Ray Stantz cameo was one of the best moments in the movie for me.. 😁👍👻
So excited for this one!
Over the Garden Wall is my comfort cartoon. Watch it every fall
I love the Try Guys. I love the Try Pods. I love Guilty Pleasures. And never before have I laughed so hard, so long, so often, in a single episode. Well effing done. *clap clap*

I loved this movie as a child. Definitely a Halloween classic.
Best episode yet! This movie brings back so much memories and just loved the fact that everyone was fangirling to Devon Sawa!!
Home Alone reference was on point. Check out the TryGuys video where Zach and Keith plunge into a cold bath. They nailed it. I couldn’t stop laughing and rewinding that moment.
what an incredible episode to stumble across while I’m tipsy after working all day 🥰
Finding you fam a year later ❤️
I am shocked that Zach's eyes aren't brown. Always thought they were
There was definitely a Casper attraction at Universal when i was a kid
I remember that it was at least in the Florida Universal Studios because my dad wanted to go on the ride but my older sister was the only one who was able to go on; meanwhile, my mom, younger sister, and I waited for them outside.
I saw this in theaters with my mom.. I cried when Devon Sawa said "can I keep you"
I am so excited for Over the Garden Wall!!!! Excellent choice Garrick!

You do not understand how excited I am for over the garden wall next!!!!!!
YES!!! Zach your eyes are GORGEOUS take those slanderous glasses off!! Lol 😂

Howl's Moving Castle

I watched this entire video waiting for you to drop the "Did you know?" about the Backstreet Boys music video. Thank you Korn Diddy
Garrick because of quarantine, at 25 I am DEEP into anime. Started watching Castlevania and then Demon Slayer and I’m never going back
And it was cute when Zach said it at the end so the pod, lol yea Zach, you can keep us! 😜
This has been my favorite Guilty Pleasures lol - so many childhood questions finally discussed!
I LOVE Over The Garden Wall. Barely understand it, but I love it
I would love it if you did an anime! Lot of Miyazaki in my childhood. Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky just to name a few lol
One of my absolutely favorite scenes of any movie is watching Casper cook breakfast!
another being in the Barney movie when that guy cooks a burger and makes a milkshake in his pick up truck lol
Just want to say that if I'll be in this podcast (in an alternative universe) I would have probably picked this as my guilty pleasure movie.. But its all pleasure for me ;) I still cry after watching this, even for the nth time
You guys need to come back to some really questionable movies lol I want to see you rate something a GUILT! Love ya guys
Thank you for reminding me of this movie. I saw it a bunch of times as a kid but forgot all about it. Now I'm off to Amazon to purchase it. 😊
I love this movie! Devon sawa was my childhood crush FOREVER!!! I still love him lol 😆
I can't believe I'm three days late, but I was SO DELIGHTED to hear Kelsey shout out Now and Then! Still one of my all time favourite movies and Devin Sawa WAS my sexual awakening lol. All I remember about Casper is that pirate shirt scene haha

This is exactly how I feel. I’m always surprised when our nostalgia lines up. It doesn’t really make sense cause I’m younger than them
Regarding seeing the crazy Up and Atum scene and being perfect for a ride, that is how I feel about Emperor's New Groove and how Yzma gets to her secret lab. Such missed opportunities 😩
Great episode, great podcast, gonna miss spoopy month, look forward to next year's.
Also, Kelsey nailed it. I friggin love anime, and I'm a goth rocker dad but regularly bond with EVERY type of people with anime.
As a fellow fivehead whose lesbian awakening was partially inspired by Christina Ricci, y'all better hope I don't turn into a ghost to come haunt your asses for this slander 😠
devon sawa 🤯 I had to pause. Total brain blast! He was one of my very first crushes. - I was 11 when this came out
I would love a Devon Sawa reaction
Universal almost made a ride at Universal Studios Orlando, but the sequel plans that never happened and other things were the reasons for it to being cancelled. Don’t forget the beautiful soundtrack!
Such a Halloween classic 🎃 love this one!! Love you guys so much ❤️❤️❤️👻
This was my go to romance at age 12. I may have seen it in the theater? I don't remember but we did have it on VHS.
Damn, The Faculty would have made for a great pod!
such a fun episode, casper is such a classic and now i want to rewatch it lol
I was HOPING you guys would do this one!!!!
You guys should do Little Giants. It is an underdog little football league with the actor who plays Casper. That movie was my first exposure to him in that movie before Casper.
Omg omg please do a special episode about Boy Meets World!!!!!
10/10 would watch a video of Garrick giving his anime recs
Love Now and Then! Yes review that movie! Definitely a coming age movie for me too!
I hate scary movies too!!! And my bday is the day after Halloween so I should love everything about the holiday
You guys should watch "The Final Cut" (Robin Williams)... It's one of my all-time favorites and hardly anyone I've talked to even know it exists!!!
i love this podcast so much!! i CAN'T wait for next weeks ep as over the garden wall is a masterpiece! garrick is a man with TASTE!! if kelsey manages to make horny jokes about this one too i will be very impressed
We NEED a Now and Then episode!!!
Devon Sawa as human Casper 😍
Kelsey was talking about 90s teen idols with the curtained hair style but she couldn't remember one of their names. My guesses, she's either talking about Erik von Detten or the late Jonathan Brandis.
Or JTT
Now and then is a classic
