I’m shocked y’all haven’t reviewed a single Barbie movie. It was a cultural reset for many 😂 also Barbie a Christmas Carol is awesome
I said that too! It would be a good starting point into the world of Barbie sense it’s a Christmas movie
I ALSO WANT THE BARBIE MOVIES ! I can't believe it really was that big of a deal to 90s/00s kids .. thought I was the only one
@@nicavocadobinz those movies were my childhood! I was born in 2002, and I owned so many of them. I wish I knew where my collection was
@@Anna-B 😭😭😭😭 I was 100% "too old" to be watching them , im 30 so I was in middle school when they really started popping off. I have always loved "bad kids" movies , like Monster High and Scary Godmother type shows fuck me up man, fucking love them too much.
@@nicavocadobinz monster high was so good! I watched kid stuff well past when I was supposed to (still do sometimes ☺️)
i’m too emotional today.. when Rick said “I can’t wait to watch her get old” about Sequoia i really wanted to cry. He raises the bar every time he talks about her
“Her eyes are up here!” - Garrick is such a precious stan
Y’all need to watch the Knight Before Christmas on Netflix. It’s another Vanessa Hudgens Christmas movie and it’s definitely a guilty pleasure. It’s better than the princess switch trilogy and I’m upset that they didn’t give it a sequel this year. They set it up to do another and yet, they’ve continued to pump out the contrived and overdone Princess Switch movies. She also has much better fashion in it than in the princess switch although, I will admit that the fashion is better in the two sequels.
Also, given the time constraints on the movie’s baking competition, there’s no way in hell that any of those bakers would be able to make anything remotely close to what they did in the movie. I used to bake semi-professionally and there’s just no way.
I was about to comment too about The Knight before Christmas. I actually loved that movie 😆 it is not that predictable and it was actually funny
I hope they do get to it
You guys should do a take on "Beastly" (2011), an actual Vanessa Hudgens' Guilty Pleasure movie!
based on the book! i remember! hell yeah they should do it
I’m sorry, YOU GUYS DIDNT MENTION THE ICONIC BARBIE MOVIE: THE PRINCESS AND THE PAUPER?! The classic princess switch! I watched this movie while on vacation in Paris but, of course, it was in French.Irrelevant because it is ICONIC and I didn’t need English to know what’s going on.
Yes!! That movie is my entire life 😄
Yes!!!
Why is this both a compliment and a read lol
My favorite barbie movie. My sister and I had memorized the whole thing in english and spanish
Random Christmas movie recommendations: Barbie and the Nutcracker, and Barbie: a Christmas Carol
YES BARBIE AND THE NUTCRACKER
"You two repulse me!"
"But if you met my twin, who is just a little bit different, would you say 'have you seen Zach with his shirt off?'"
We all have seen you with your shirt off Zach, and apparently a few of your coworkers have seen more than that lol
Renee Zellweger nailed her British accent in Bridget Jones Diary. She even fooled Hugh Grant
Yep. And Meryl Streep is universally acclaimed for her accent work
Oh there’s three and I think they get more enjoyable as they go. This series cracks me up. Pure Christmas camp
This movie has been one of my anxiety guilty pleasures since it premiered. It’s fun, simple, ridiculous, and my brain knows exactly what is going to happen.
Ah, a movie Zach and I can finally agree on: "It Takes Two" is not only a childhood favourite, it is the superior twin swap film" of its time.
Quickly becoming my favorite TryPod podcast
It's Christmas Comfort Food. Plus, you can "watch" it while wrapping gifts, decorating, etc. and not miss a thing.
Unaccompanied Minors would be a great holiday movie to do. It’s so bad and good and I love it.
Ooh, now I know the next movie I'm watching. Thanks!
Idea-- if there are enough holiday movies that you all have seen, but won't fill an entire episode, can you do an episode where you just rapid fire rate/review them all? Maybe a bunch of classic movies that people will argue are not guilty pleasures?
Y'all keep saying Lifetime when you mean Hallmark and it's killing me. Lifetime is based-on-a-true-story murder dramas, Hallmark is wholesome feels.
Thank you!!!
I'm not from the USA, and I was wondering if what I've understood about Lifetime movies from media was completely wrong, and why they never said Hallmark when this one has all the feels of a Hallmark movie... And I never watched any movie of this trilogy or a Hallmark movie.
Last week I reallyyyy tried watching The Princess Switch 3 and I just couldn't, I had to stop less than half of the way in. I liked the first one though, it was good, so good in fact that it reeled me in for movies 2 and 3 (ish).
Omg I’m not the only one! I really liked the first one, but the newest one was just unbearable!
Lol! 8 min in and fell asleep.
57:07 when they ask if there's a 3rd Vanessa Hudgens I'm like YES THERE IS THERES 3 MOVIES
Yeah there's 3 of then
I'll never trust Rotten Tomatoes after I watched Wonder Woman when it was new and then I looked it up online and found out that Sausage Party was rated higher. Can't be trusted.
A twist to this podcast, if any speaker in this podcast hasn’t watched the film being discussed before, start the podcast off with what they thought the movie would be about
Remember that time during the panic when Vanessa told her followers on Instagram live it was okay that people were dying from the virus, and then sent out an insincere apology telling people to get over her comments?? I’m so glad we can laugh about it now…
I literally just viewed the 3rd switch last night and it's a guilty pleasure for sure because it's so unrealistic funny cute movie that it just put me in the Christmas spirit lol idk how they have a 3rd movie of a funny storyline but definitely makes you wanna have some hot chocolate lol
Ok I watched the holiday after watching last week's podcast and I think that's my favorite way to listen to this podcast and watch the movies. It's like watching the movie before you read the book (which is also my preferred way to do that). There's so much i never would have caught without the pod! This is such a brilliant podcast. Love yall
Have you seen the second or third one?! It’s just Vanessa Hudgens talking to herself in different accents basically the whole movie 😆🙈.
You would love Orphan Black then
You guys should do Master of Disguise! It’s still my ultimate guilty pleasure movie from my childhood
I see no one ever watched Nashville because Sam Pallido is 🔥🔥🔥 in it.
"My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" has long been a guilty pleasure of mine and they have a movie for y'all to review! Annnnd Eugene could be the guest critic! 🤩
Omg, same. MLP is so calming and cosy.
The fact that Kelsey and Zach are calling someone for having plain face 😂🙈
I can’t do these movies, it’s not bad enough to be funny and not good enough for me to enjoy it. I dislike guessing every plot point in movies even if it’s a Christmas movie. No pleasure whatsoever in this.
When this movie is so predictable that they can predict the ACTUAL PLOT of the the second movie
I just realized now that sometimes the movies featured on Guilty Pleasures has plots that were hashed out a la the fantasy plots often hashed on the TryPod (think of the earlier episodes), only they got made into *real* movies... 👁️👁️
I NEEEEED a podcast update with princess switch 2 & 3!
The third Princess Switch ROCKS! Vanessa is wonderful!
I haven’t seen this movie. But the second they said “Sam Palladio” NASHVILLE!! 🙂🙂🙂
The Prince and the Pauper is the OG lol
Netflix has already gave us that princess/christmas combo ! 😭 A Cinderella Story : Christmas Wish . Soup for the soul type movie !
Am I the only one that remembers "Model Behavior"? It's my favorite switch places with your lookalike movie.
The third film is out, and when it did, I, without thinking put it on my list. Then, I told myself off for doing so, remove it, and then had an honest conversation with myself, who am I kidding, I AM going to watch it and put it back in... I'm glad I'm not alone here....
You guys should review jingle all the way !
I’d love to hear how you guys make fun of it !
Belgravia is also an area in London. 😄
Since the pod stans Anna Kendrick, I think it's only right to do Noelle as one of the Christmas episodes.
I would love to see try guys try paint by numbers!
I need a follow up podcast of the second and third movie. Or to make it even more crazy, review The Knight before Christmas. Another Netflix Christmas movie with Vanessa Hudgens, i hope they merge them in the 4th movie
in "a christmas prince: the royal baby" there's actually a map showing where aldovia (the made up country of that series) and belgravia are situated in europe. they're both surprisingly big
and just fyi, my cringe binge is fully excused because i've been home sick for almost a week, it's the fever delirium or whatever
"There's a 3rd twin" oh honey watch the 2nd movie please 😂😂😂😂
Gillian Anderson is the only American that can do a British accent. I fully had no clue she was American until recently
...yes born in USA, raised in London but 🤯she speaks with the British accent on the daily...
I can't wait to watch and listen to this episode!
Christmas movies are like CandyCanes - you only consume them during december and their not even that good, but you enjoy them anyway
I'm gonna need you guys to do jingle all the way please. Also home alone 1, 2 or 3!?!?
You guys should watch Dash and Lily it is greatttt
What I really love is that the prince character is blah throughout all three movies
It’s the funniest thing ever hearing Americans describe the most American movie ever as being the most European thing ever. Speaking as a European lady!!But yes we do celebrate Christmas here very intens , just in a very different way.
Love the podcast!!
The third movie has a heist sequence and I love it!
You guys should do a musical month, where you do only musicals for a whole month, I know Kelsey would agree
Just a note on the american/uk accents. The accents we hear as fancy British are newer than America. The English folks who settled the "new world" sounded very much like Midwesterners do now. The non-rhotic, poshy accent came later, when the higher classes in England wanted to sound fancier than the unwashed masses. Then the accent spread back to people who wanted to seem high-class in American port cities like Boston. 100% a simplification, but true.
LMFAO they actually called the third movie!
Hear me now: If adorability + Van Hutch is a combination you seek...GREASE LIVE, baby! She's perfect as Rizzo and your jaw will be on the floor the whole time as the entire cast is so oppressive. In fact, you absolutely must make it an episode. You won't be sorry. In fact, I've come to like it better than the original. I can't stop watching it.
I was like, yeah it's the Selena Gomez movie but in winter instead of summer and adults instead of teenagers right?
I need you guys to review Princess Switch 2 and 3 together
Better made-for-TV Christmas movies include the A Christmas Prince trilogy (Cinderella story set at Christmas-time, but with a twist), and 12 Dates of Christmas (Groundhogs Day for Christmas).
Just for Zack watch Hallmarks Nine Lives of Christmas. It has cats!
A Christmas switch on Hulu is the exact same but more freaky Friday vibes
oml after this i would love to see a review of happiest season
Now they have to watch this trilogy, Vanessa Hudgens Christmas Universe!
I could literally name 5 Christmas Movies that are better than ‘The Princess Switch’: ‘A Castle for Christmas’, ‘A Christmas Catch’, ‘Christmas Comes Home’, ‘A Cape Cod Christmas’, and ‘A Royal Winter’.
I'm never watching this movie so it's fun to hear about it in this episode
If y'all loved Vanessa Hudgens in a Christmas movie, try A Knight before Christmas. I definitely loved it and it is a guilty pleasure
It feels like a Totally Spies episode
Our way of speaking in America is actually the old-school way that Brits sounded originally (before the revolution). They only invented all this posh nonsense after we left, so that's why we can't do their accents but they can do ours.
this is the subway of movies
There was a parent trap before Lindsey did it lol it’s an old movie that came out in 1961 lol
That was with Haley Mills, right?
@@nancythomas5387 yes!! Not many people know about the original parent trap lol
@@Aacosta0114 it’s a good movie! I didn’t know that the little song one of the girls sings near the elevator was a reference to the original
I'm old (40) I was on love with that movie when I was a child in Spain the first one os call "you go to Boston I go to califonia" and the second with Lindsey the same but with London
@@Aacosta0114 Haley Mills was a big deal back in the day. She played everything real, not over-dramatised, so she decently played all kinds of roles without being typecast.
I love this podcast so so much 💗 I would LOVE you guys to do my guilty pleasure movie, Gods of Egypt 😁
I’m team Edward because I’ve always been a fan of all the aristocracy thingy and even if he’s not a prince, I prefer his looks because he’s your typical golden haired handsome guy. But people generally do prefer the “bad” boy, rebel look and it’s the IN thing now.
I think you are using Lifetime movie and Hallmark movies interchangeable but they give off very different vibes
Still listening to this and I'm just waiting for them to mention the sequel and Fiona Pembrooke. Lol
Anyone else think Vanessa Hudgens looks like Maggie??
They already have 3 movies out. They have a plot twist in the 2nd one
Buckle up for a long comment because I actually have a VERY big guilt with this movie you wouldn’t know unless you’re familiar with the Christmas Prince trilogy also on Netflix. When Margret and Kevin watch a Christmas movie it’s the first Christmas Prince. But then in the THIRD Christmas Prince they make a reference about Stacy and Edwards marriage. Then in the 2nd switch movie the leads from Christmas prince are at the coronation. These countries exist in the same universe. They have diplomatic relationships. So what was the movie Kevin and Margret watched in the first movie?! A dramatization of Amber and Richard’s life like Harry and Megan? A documentary? NETFLIX EXPLAIN YOURSELF!!
I just want you guys to discuss baking shows now
oh my god can you do shrek 2 and can rainie be on for it?
she reminds me of me I’d love to see what she thinks of it
He was on Nashville
I’m sorry DENOVO. They say her last name CONSTANTLY. hahahha Also plot hole- they watch Christmas Prince in the first once. The Queen and King from that movie are in the second one at the coronation and another guy from that movie is in the third. HOW DO THESE UNIVERSES WORK
Also her accent in the third was AWFUL. hahha
The devil works hard but Vanessa Hudgens works harder to star in these movies and make these movie make sense.
Please review/discuss The Family Stone
Yous lot should watch Nativity! with Martin Freeman !! silly heartfelt and unreasonably enjoyable !
I've really been sleepin on this podcast...I've binged watched a bunch already lol super interested to see what yall have to say about PP3 lol but side note...well, more like side question...
It is so great when yall have guests on buuuut...have yall considered having any listeners join in on the podcast, via zoom of course. Like, if someone suggests a movie and you pick it...then invite em on the pod to share their thoughts? I'm sure there are plenty of movies on yalls [combined] lists...but, it would be super fun to see new interactions plus...I've been a TryGuys fan for a long time and yall interact with your fans/the audience so well! I would imagine it would be the same here! I've always wanted to ask if any of the TryPod platforms have considered this idea...? Just curious! Stay Gold yall.
I love this podcast, but as someone who's been binging it on youtube via the official playlist for the past couple weeks, just some constructive criticism: pls get better at including all the episodes in the playlist, numbering them correctly in the thumbnail, and including the ep number in the title! I just got done with the 30s, for which the playlist goes 31, 32, 32 again, 38, 41. Had to go searching for the rest of them. Then had to go to spotify to track this one down bc it's not in the playlist, it's the 2nd one with 41 in the thumbnail, and it doesn't say 42 in the title so it didn't come up in a search for that! Again, love the show, just realized I kept missing episodes because of this.
I mean of course Netflix is trying to do Lifetime. They literally bought You from Lifetime.
Pleaseee so Krampus
You guys should review Romeo and Juliet with Hailee Steinfield... LOL
Wait, I need to see that
Firefly please!!! Or serenity
You guys should watch love hard on Netflix!!
THE CLASSIC BARBIE MOVIES! DO THE BARBIE MOVIES!!
This European small kindong is the most american thing I've ever see.
I'm from European kindong
I just finished watching the 3rd film tho hahahaha
If you want to see this stereotypical plot done right and not in the usual way watch Princess Principal a interesting & surprising take .
Did Kelsey even say what her LetterBoxd name was?
there is a 3rd Vanessa!!
I listened to this episode, while at work today. When I got home, watched the movie. Yes, the storyline is predicted within the first half hour. Gotta say though, wasn't all that bad of a movie. I sat through it, without getting on my phone. The British accent could have used some work, wasn't a complete mess though. ❤
pls watch the sequel, there are 3 vanessa hudgenses ? HAHA
