I'm considering this method to clean paint and roughen off of the surface of plastic motorcycle fairings/body covers, seems to be less time consuming and more uniform finish compared to sanding by hand. Also helps to clean deep into hard to reach areas
This worked extremely well for me blasting calcium deposits off of glass swimming pool tile. Now if you properly balance your pool water to the correct Langelier Saturation Index you shouldn't need to do this. But at the time I was not a pool chemistry expert. Now I am! And should never need to do this again.
Does soda blasting actually etch the surface of glazed ceramic tile or just clean the dirt and scum off and require sandblasting? I'm interested to know because I'm considering painting bathroom tile and would like to create an etched surface for the paint to bond to. I suppose that soda blasting etches the surface of PVC furniture because I found that even powerwashing does that. Thanks.

You got a very good demo and it is like the one that was demonstrated in the 90's i did use it for marine application and it worked good.

SP330Y soda is not good for rust removal. You have to remove metal for that and soda doesn’t damage the surface and hence won’t remove metal or rust.
Yesterday I soda blasted an antique wrought iron bench and got down to bare metal. Fabulous!

It really depends. There are so many compounds of plastic. Some do but Many don’t. Thanks.
