Hi Michael, many thanks for contributing to the body of knowledge, no doubt your videos have saved many from embarrassment. Thanks a lot! Could you please advise how to calculate the Cumulative SPI in a project, I've been searching online for videos to no avail. 😊

Thought that EV is actually the BCWP (Budgeted Cost of Work Performed), and AC is ACWP (Actual Cost of Work Performed) and PV is BCWS (Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled). Am I confusing the EVA/EVM terms?

Great video Michael . Kind of putting my schedule review hat on here and was just curious. Why does Activity ID A1000 have earned value as 0 despite some progress and actual costs. Does that mean there is something wrong with the data input. I know this is a sample schedule but just curious

Does that mean along with the schedule % complete the activity % complete and performance % complete need to be updated for each and every summary/cost activity to accurately track down EVM ? Seems to cumbersome tbh .

Hey - not exactly - if the activity is done, those values all go to 100% automatically. But if they remain in-progress during a period update, you will have to specify those values.

A1000 is a WBS summary activity used for capturing indirects or overhead costs. So it's not an activity that "earns" value because there is no work on it.
