This man if you had self control, you wouldn't be in this mess. You have a wife and children why bring a strange woman into your home and bear another child. A lady that knows you are married and still chooses to have an affair with you is morally bankrupt. Two morally bankrupt people brought an innocent child to the world only to use the child as a pawn. So sad when adults behave like dummies.
This cheating thing must be addressed. Bringing a child into the world when you don't have the means to do so is very wrong. Forget the Europeans that brought a culture which they themselves couldn't keep to Africans is laughable. This word 'cheating' must be revisited.

Judge Fumi should redress this matter and give the man access to his child. He didn't denial the child. Judge this isn't fair. Give him access let his other children bind with their sister.
Throughout the entire process she kept repeating that the law grants custody to the woman but gives access to the children to both the man and the wife. The current stage of the child hardly raise that issue. If the child were of school age or where he could come and pick the child to spend holiday she would have addressed that. If he wants to see the child with the mother he can make that arrangement. What kind of bonding can a 2 year old have with the older kids at this stage? We don't expect the mother to drop a child of 22 months with him and another wide and her kids, even for a day? He didn't make any strong issue about not having access to the baby. He didn't cite any instance when he requested access and the lady denied him? He just made a general Statement. The lady herself knows from the court that she cannot deny him that access. What judge Funmi is saying is that he should commit to fulfilling his obligations first to demand the right to access.
From what I gathered, his wife and children don't reside in Lagos, so the bonding between the kids might be a bit challenging.
And the issue there is, how far are we certain his wife agrees to the bonding?
The guy should request DNA. A woman should not sow a seed of doubt in a man's mind.

How it started was when he travelled for a week no calls no texts messages and if i call him he will not pick up until, he came back one day and all he told me was that i should be preparing that we are traveling to port Harcourt .when we reached Port Harcourt he stopped taking care if me and my children,even to bring money for food he will send five thousand naira for two weeks and if i call him again he will start causing me and calling me all sorts of names .My neighbors are the ones that do help me and my children but he have a second wife which he gives money everyday and i and my children manage 5,000 for two Weeks

Did he raise paternity issue here? Bcos men have been coming and getting DNA done free, many see the court as a means to get DNA done even when it is not necessary. The court should make sure men who raise doubts about paternity pay for DNA or reimburse the court if it comes out positive.
The judge can only rule on a matter that is brought before the court. In this case, it is the welfare of the child. If the father has doubts, he can bring the issue of paternity to the court and the court will order a DNA test.

The issue is what is the current minimum wage in proportion to what the plaintiff is requesting has upkeep for one child? The government itself has been irresponsible in the welfare of its citizens.
The reality is a worker on minimum wage is not expected to have wife and 4 kids and he is not expected to live in a flat. He is not expected to live so far from his workplace as to incur huge transport cost. Minimum wage ideally is for workers like cleaners. Is a cleaner realistically expected to take care of a family of 6 comfortably?It is not just here in Nigeria. In US, for instance, a single shared bedroom could go for as much as $700 to N1350 depending on location and facilities. Average minimum wage is about $7 per hour. That is about $1400 per month on 8hrs basis. So how easy is it for a worker on minimum wage to afford a room and feed? Not to talk of feed a wife and 2 kids. So minimum wage is not for a family. That is why some husband and wife do 2 or 3 jobs to survive. And in Nigeria, was there anytime in history when the govt ever paid a minimum wage that takes care of a family of 6? In 1984 when I was to be employed as a sales boy in a pharmacy after my O levels, what I was offered could not even feed only me. Of course no accomodations or transport is even considered. Even as a graduate in 1992, I couldn't afford even a room when I started working and I was earning more than a fresh graduate in civil service. Would it not have been stupid of me to get married and have kids and then start blaming my problem on minimum wage? The question is how many companies are making the kind of profit to be able to pay their least worker above N60k? Or is it everybody that is working for govt? If govt pays N250k for instance to its least worker and it is graduated upward like that, and private companies do the same, what would happen to the cost of goods and services they provide? Already some of them are laying up workers bcos they cannot afford to pay even what they are paying currently. Some find it so difficult to even break even and they are closing down bcos the more they increase their product prices, the less sales they are making. Yes our politicians are over paid, but even at that can govt realistically afford a drastic increase in minimum wage? And can private companies do the same?

She won't ask that if she is preventing him access. And of course he would have raised it if it was an issue. It is not everytime the judge address that if it doesn't arise in the hearing.
