I'll be honest, I did not know that Jermaine Stewart was still having hits into the late Eighties. I always (and wrongly) assumed that 1986's "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off" was his only hit. More fool me. RIP Jermaine.
Thank you for this upload 👍 Hard to believe this is 35 years already. I swear time goes fast nowadays. For a January which is usually a dead month, this is a pretty good lineup. Very much a time of acid and dance making their presence felt, SAW making themselves completely known, hair metal become more popular and of course soul music being pretty good. That Flinstone song is rather mad, in a good way 😂 I always thought with Basia's song (one of the first and few Poles in the chart at the time, especially as the iron curtain fell a year later) it was 'my skinny body' she was singing 😂 I'm guessing 'Hungry Eyes' flopped first time or was it really a flop? Early Bjork here with the Sugacubes. Tina Turner did it better with 'The Best'. Sorry Bonnie.
You've got a mini group of death here Francis. My favourite by a long distance is 'Sign Your Name' by Terrence Trent Darby. Such a sensual song, and his voice shows raw emotion. My second choice is 'Hot In The City'. I find it a very erotic song and of course that guy could rock the alphabet and it'd be amazing. I've got a long list for third but 'Mandinka', 'Boys', 'Get Out Of my Dreams', 'Gimme Hope Joanna' and 'Father Figure' are the ones going for bronze with Taylor Dayne and Kylie not far behind.
I have to admit that Sabrina song is catchy, although at that time it wasn’t cool to like it because of its cheesiness
I think the video and the sight of her helped sell it somewhat.

Thanks for the video. My favourite song is Hazy Shade of Winter. So well performed by The Bangles. It was a Big hit in the US reaching #2. In the UK wasn't so successful. The song is vibrant and the beat unforguetable

Not being existed the song called "Love Is Dead" by Godley & Creme. They released "A Little Piece of Heaven" in 1987 and "10,000 Angels" in 1988.

Amazing medley. And proof that the period 1988 - 1991 was full of stunning fusions on the charts - more in Europe than in the US - when metal (both real and poodle) went hand in hand with rave, alternative with MOR, plus smooth jazz shared chart spots with rap and hip hop. Plus remixes, re-issues, medleys. Just listen and remember with a tear in your eye! Thanks, Francis!

Perso, je n'ai jamais aimé ce qu'elle a fait en solo, j'ai préféré ce qu'elle faisait avec The Sugarcubes (les fans de Bjork me regardaient avec de gros yeux quand je leur avais dit ça dans les années 90 😄😄).
