I can't believe my grandma and several ppl I love are not with me anymore. Not just musicians. Ppl in music are NOT the only ppl who make a difference in life. Loved ones are more important. A lot of musicians did not live such healthy lives and didn't take care of themselves. It's hard to feel sorry for them. Music is only music. Everyone should make a difference not just ppl who invent things that you can wiggle your ass to!

The bad memories of Vietnam were almost fading away, and being replaced by Hollywood versions like Full Metal Jacket. For the first time in a long time there was money around, although the October crash ended the gravy train for many. Yuppies were still around, with Filofaxes, BMWs and mobile phones, but within a couple of years they were gone. It was a great year.
The only good thing about music today just the high quality of the clarity of the sound due to latest digital technology. But today music can't compare with the quality of the music from 80's and 90's if we talking about lyrics, songs, and soul of the music.

Frankly a lot of these songs sound terribly pop and annoying. I mean how much Rick Astley can you stand? Some of our current pop artists like Billie eilish and Ariana Grande are as good or better than a lot of these things. I can even see Lil Pump as less annoying than Richard Marx or Erasure.

I later learned that same year that I was a terrible dancer because I was kicked out of our dance practice for a school program for first graders hahaha! 1987 damn, I miss it.

Indeed... but what is even more unbelievable, is that isn't even close to best year the 80's had to offer. I am not talking about subjective "my favorite song" stuff, but an actual study, of songs that are still played today with regularity, and still are popular. The year is 1982. For me now, I associate any song from the eighties, as the eighties in whole. Each year in the decade takes me back to the same feelings and state of mind, which I miss dearly.
The level of quality sound it was high so much. I m not sure we will think the same of 2000 decades.

1987, I turned 24 that year and was back in Korea on my 2nd tour with the Army!!!! Up n down year for me, crazy rotation on the DMZ that year, which did not end well for 2 of my guys!!!!!
