How To Replace Bunk Tent Canvas on Shamrock & Roo Hybrid Campers

In this video I'm replacing the front bunk tent canvas on a 2016 Forest River Shamrock Hybrid that has a model number 23IKSS. While this is a 2016 model, there are many other years that are the exact same as this including Forest Rivers Roo hybrid campers.

You are right, after I thought about it the slant on the front of the camper would make top of the front canvas longer than the back.

@@MyBackyardLife thanks! Do you know if there is plywood under the bunk? It feels soft and I think I'm going to need to try and replace that as well while the canvas is off.

@@timplatt83 when we bought the camper it had a hole in the canvas. I haven’t had an issue with that so I have yet to investigate. I’m curious in what you find for future information though!

how easy would it be to replace the flooring of the bunk once laid down and canvas removed our shamrock seems kinda soft under the matress

Great write up , Do you know if the front and rear canvases are the same? meaning interchangable.

When I ordered mine there were different model numbers/sku's for the front and the back. So no, unfortunately I don't believe they are interchangeable.

Question: was there adhesive originally holding in the existing canvas inside the channel?

On mine, yes. With that being said, I was not the original owner of this trailer so I can’t speak to the original condition of it.

Lippert bought out the original company that made them. You should be able to source them through Lippert.

Do you have a source for purchasing the canvas? Also, I'm looking to replace the latches on the outside but I can't find any. I saw a different, much more secure type on a different Rockwood roo I was looking at.

Yes, the company was formally known as TJ Snuggles in which they were recently bought out. They are now part of Lippert.
