It's not just swing it's lacking, it's missing soul. that's what makes this piece so great. Have heard several versions and no one comes close to wil bilal, it's as if he's singing through the trombone
Me and my trombone section are playing this! Thanks for a really good transcription. The other trombones are 2-3 year, I'm a 4th year so I'm kinda helping them with it. I will be holding solo auditions sometime like next year, for our last concert. If they can't play the solo by then though I'm gonna have to play it. Again, thank you so much for this awesome transcription !!
That's awesome! That's exactly why I wrote it, to be playable for students. I never got to play it in an ensemble as I didn't play much after high school and we didn't have enough capable players in highschool. I hope you guys have a blast!
The whole idea of this score was to be easy to read and to be playable rather than exactly accurate, time and style will be felt if played correctly, feel free to use the score as a template for a 12/8 transposition!
@@ansonshull1515 Trombonists generally prefer ledger lines to 8va markings. Whether an 8va marking makes it easier to read just depends on who the intended audience is.
@@trainzack yeah I know, but in this case the ledger lines get ridiculous and it gets to the point where it would probably be written in tenor clef to save the pain. But the intended audience is students, didn't want to complicate it but simplify instead.
Many students don't often have to read that high and struggle to read that many ledger lines, it also makes it easier to play the high parts down an octave if desired. If this was written for advanced students it would be easiest read in Tenor clef but it is Witten to be playable by an average high school trombone section
maybe a little more swing, but pretty accurate
The players add the emotion❤
@@xMick3yC Thats true, was just thinking about some software that has swing options built in, overall this is an amazing transcription.
@@goldenwindhog smartmusic has a swing option in composer
@@TheRandomWolfit does?? I didn’t know that, thank you

Thanks for the reply, and thank you for wishing us fun!
update: had to cut it because they didn't practice it at home.
I played this my first year in 7th😅
I'd turn on eighth note swing within musescore for better playback
Try 12/8 instead of 4/4. Tempo: Dotted Quarter = 130

Nah Just needs to be played back with a real swing.

Lol MuseScore can only do so much
Yea. I was thinking it was pretty darn good for the playback tho. The flair comes from the performer.
Woulda sounded better if they had turned swing on
Also Musescore's stock soundfonts are... Not the best.
@@theoneandonly1833 yeah, I turned the swing on the actual score in muse score but when I posted this video I didn't have it on
What website do I go on for the full sheet of music ✅
Click the musescore link in the description
The link sends me to just trombone playing but I find one with trumpets 🎺

What model child's Bontempi was used for that massacre?????????????
Yo this makes no sense

Yeah its good but it needs to be swung big time.

the midi 💀
Try up an octave
It's written with 8va to be easier to read, it's in the correct octave

I’d rather use ledger lines over 8va. It’s easier

Ok. I just said that because in my opinion tenor clef or 8va confuse me
We in my German surroundings also prefer ledger lines instead of learning another key or the 8va.
I think it's a bit to legato
thats usually how music is written. you have to articulate it yourself tho
