If my memory serves me correct the Boks won 8-5 with Martin Pleaser scoring a try converted by Dick Lockyear. Feels like yesterday. Proud of the Boks.
Great video but I must say being a Bok fan between 2015 and 2018 was tough and the toughest part of that time other than losing to Japan was getting a 56/0 drubbing by NZ and then losing to Italy. So for the Boks being top of the mountain once again after what is arguably the darkest era in SA rugby history under AC, is such a damn good feeling it's inexplicable.

Boks always had the cattle to win, but the coaches in the 10’s era were too prideful to admit that they couldn’t handle both the on and off field stuff. These guys wanted to play the politics game more than actually coach, especially Coetzee. Rassie was brought in originally to help manage the off the field stuff for him but Coetzee felt like was being given a boss and was also essentially being replaced. Even though the two worked together at the Stormers Allister was a doos and wouldn’t play ball so he resigned. In hindsight this was the best thing to happen.
Another WC win in 2027? It is going to be very tough and here is why ..... all top teams are fully aware of the Boks' depth and ability to win even under almost impossible odds. They also know that if they do not become more competitive, they will perform dismally. So, this will change the dynamic going forward. The next WC I believe we will witness who has embraced this dynamic. The boks do have that edge at present, but its about to become VERY competitive. The boks achieved what no other team ever did in WC in the history of the game and this changed everything ..... it's a new era, a new dynamic!
Rassie knows people more than anything else he knows South africans and he managed to achieve what no other coach on has done. Appointing Siya was a master stroke nobody talks about quotas anymore that was a constant topic before Rassie. There was much interference and separation and politics that didnt help at all. RASSIE SAVED SPRINGBOK RUGBY
The 2027 wc is half way home already, Rassie has more than 50 players to chose from, he needs Neinaber and Felix back as we approach the WC. That's why the Rugby bosses changed the laws, they can already see whats coming. Rassie has made history already, but now with a 3rd WC, a statue will be made in Gold😂
If Rassie was in charge at that time I don't think the boks would have lost 56 - 0. It was the coach that was the problem, SA has Always had the players, but coaching tactics was the issue.
Perhaps a mix of both, a lot of the players who are great now were still inexperienced back then but Rassie certainly made a massive difference and he brought the best out of the players
Couple of changes made. Siya is fit and ready to start at 6, Eben starts at 4. Grant Williams in at 9, Pollard back at 10, Moodie on the right wing and Willie in at Fullback 🇿🇦
