Who needs a fairy godmother when you have a badass grandmother who literally rewrites the book? This is the kind of supportive and independent woman every young girl needs in their life. Glad Jax had someone like her Nana to look up to.

You grew up with some super strong, smart and caring women role models, and now you're passing that on to many little girls, some who don't have similar role models within their life, so the good that you and your own role models are spreading is huge. Respect for that! I also love the song ❤

Oh you know what another really good song is that just came out, it’s called diet culture. The ending is my favorite part “there’s nothing wrong with my body, fat is not a dirty word. If my body tells me something I will make sure it is heard, no matter what you think of me” reminded me of Victoria secret immediately. I have them both on my playlist

Goodness Jax you are a lucky girl to have family like her. I wasn't ever supposed to go to college or have ambitions beyond living with my parents until marriage and then transitioning to a stay at home mom. I thankfully have a bachelor's degree and a job but I could have gone much further if I had more support. And its kinda hard for me to go back to school when I need to work to pay the bills. You will go places with your music. Your future is incredibly bright.
I think you’re future is incredibly bright too. The fact that you have a degree and are working when you didn’t have the support to do so is amazing. I truly think people underestimate how much work goes into a bachelor’s degree and you are amazing ❤.

I just have to play this on repeat!!! Your nana is an absolute treasure and I love this so much!! My grandma married because she was pregnant in the 40s and same for my mom in the 70s... I panicked a little when I found out about the little prince I was carrying. She said if we choose to marry we should wait so I can enjoy my day and do what i choose not what society screams. Lol she hadnt realized how much society and social norms had changed in the 25plus years since my mom was the one going through it all. 9 month old attended and is now 16 and sad he cant remember it. Lol!
I always taught my daughters that the only limit they have is the limit they put on themselves. I taught them to be who they are and don't ever be ashamed of it. I also told them there are gonna be assholes out there that are gonna try and take their shine. I now have 2 extremely talented, fierce daughters that have forged their paths and kicking ass in the process. One is a marine biologist and the other is cosmetologist with her own salon. I am beyond proud of the women they are and can't wait to be a Nana myself so I can be the awesome Nana like you have Jax. Your songs are phenomenal and inspiring. I hope you continue to make your music and let your voice be heard because you have valuable things to say and there millions of girls that need to hear you.

I love all of jax’s songs, but this is my personal favourite! As a young girl I felt like I was stuck a baby while my friend’s were changing so quickly and wearing different fancy outfits. I had many guys insult me and my loud personality while my friends were being called beautiful. I went through bad experiences with a guys I used to like but this song is just so awesome and I’m sure it inspires millions of girls around the world. As our society changes I hope disney produces tv shows and movies like cindependnet and parents teach their kids that they don’t need anyone to fulfil their dreams and be happy.

Amazing Grandma! I also edited my kids’ Cinderella book but just rewrote the ending. Instead of “Happily ever after” I wrote something like they became partners in their marriage which was sometimes very hard. There were good times and sad times. Sometimes the laughed and sometimes they were angry with each other. But they listened to each other and worked hard at making each other feel loved and respected.

My grandma is 90 and loves your song lyrics. She is a retired Iowa state senator and fought for equal pay her entire career life and frequently commented on Disney princesses being problematic just like your grandma did. If you see this comment I am wondering if you can please make a softer version of this same song for her to listen to. I told her you do make softer songs, for example “like my father.”
