Thank you, Ms. Diane. This was the best I've seen so far. And believe, you me, I have seen a lot of video demonstrations of the drafting of this style over a period of time. This was very informative and yet, straight-to-the-point!!! I'm am always looking forward to viewing your tutorials and learning from them. Thank God for you 'cause a lot of us just can't afford to attend an actual fashion school, money wise or time wise. So, thanks, again!!!
Oh thank you so much, I was thrilled to bits and felt so proud you thought it worthwhile to do a tutorial, I am so excited to get in and make these.. you are a wonderful teacher. Thank you again I am so honoured you have done this for me. Have the best day. Tricia.xxxx
Oh my God! I’m so glad I find you. You are so good at this. Your explanation is easy to understand. I’m going to try this out and send you the picture. You are such a blessing.
Bell bottom pant tutorial please my dear teacher.there r so many videos on youtube on bell bottom but I'm addicted to your videos.I believe ur method is the best.accept my love from Pakistan(Multan city)🙏😚💝💞🤗😷
Thanks Diane ! I made the pattern and sew it in no time! It was wow ! I only had one problem the waist was a little loose. I do not undetstand from where came the excess (the fabric maybe?)
Hello Mimis, your waist line is now a lot more curve, so more stretchy because of bias, and it does make a difference, but it should be ok when you do a waist band or facing waist finishing. Diane
Hi Diane, thank you so much for your videos, you have such a great way to explain and to make the learning easy for us. I'm a beginner at making pattern and sewing and I got a lot of help from watching your videos. I want to ask you about other atternsplease, "pleated culotte skirt" or any kind of Culotte skirt and "Sailor pant" pleaaaaase, also if you could add a tuto how to sew "le revers" for a pant pleaaaaae. And thank you so much !!!!
Hello Diane! I loved this video and this small construction will definetly help me with my project. I was wondering if it is possible to add more flare to the pants to get an even bigger shape? I also wondered if it is possible to make the palazzo go to the waist and add a very thick waistband with a zipper in the back?
Hello Lily, yes you could add more flare, just keep it balance by adding the same to both back & front legs. do it by pivoting from the waist at different point. This pants block I'm using is at the waist, and you could sew a nice wide waist band to it. Larger than 5 cm, it should be a shape waist band, 1 piece front and 2 pieces back for a back opening, adding a little on the top part. Diane
what alternative should be done if the distance between the hem of back is less then the front hem,as in front has 21 cm and if the back has less distace, what should be done, mam your pattern has exact distance so,what can be done?
Hello Diane, How can I make a simple or an elastic waistband. Please tell me. I have no Idea. I'm making my palazzo but don't know how to finish waistband.
Dear Diane Thanks for sharing this with us. its very informative, however I have noted that in front leg you closed the waist dart & opened the leg from out seam, so front rise angle remains the same, but in back panel you closed the waist dart & opened the volume at hem from inseam which gives more slanted angle to the back rise. Back rise is more straight in block pattern. what if we open the close the back waist dart & open the volume at hem from out seam same as you have done for front. pls advise you comment. i will be waiting for your reply. Thanks & i love your tutorial & pattern drafting methods.
This is so so simple. I love this. I've never thought that palazzo pants are so easy. But can you tell me that is it ok if I don't add 2.9 and 3.4 cm on sides because I don't want that much flare ?
Thanks for the explicit tutorial. What makes the difference when once pivoting the pattern in direction of side seam and once towards the inseam? And please could you tell me the secret about the punch hole, thanks. Regards from Its
Hi Richard, About the pivoting, it's exactly the same thing, I did not notice I did that, but since my back block is the opposite way, I just pivot moving towards the larger paper area. About the punch hole, on block you have the pivot, that means exactly the sewing line. On final pattern, you put punch hole (about 1 cm or 3/8 inside) to be mark on the fabric as a sewing reference, but you will sew until the pivot. In industrie, it's a real hole done with a drill, that's why it has to be hidden, but even commercial pattern, indicate it inside, asking you to sew a little X by hand. Also, on front bodice block, you often have one pivot for both darts (shoulder and waist) but you would always move the pivot ( at least 2 cm ) than place a punch hole, if you want darts. You would keep it at the original position only if you are separating you pattern like princess line. Diane
Thank you so much for an awesome videos ... I love your channel. Please I have a question, the front block doesn’t have dart anymore... how do I add back the front dart?
Hello Eky, If you really want to keep a dart in the front, start by tracing your grain line and place your front over and trace the dart, than you do the opening in the front with a measurement ( 2:9) it was 21 cm, holding at the waist on de centre line of the dart. Do it 1/2 on each side of the grain line. Diane
Diane
Hello Amir, This one is a basic palazzo, only closing the darts, but if you want even wider at the bottom, you simply have to open more at the bottom holding your pivoting point at the waist. 1. From this one, trace 2 to 3 lines from the waist to the bottom. 2. slash bottom to waist 3. open bottom evenly Diane
Hello Diane, Please suggest how do I take elastic waistband measurement ? Do I insert elastic in these palazzo pants. Does this work? Please suggest some measurements.
Hello Pooja, to make a pull on pants, you need to make the waist the same measure as the hip. Than add twice the width of the elastic over the waist. Diane
Thank you ma'am 🙏. You are a blessing to us .seriously
You are the best teacher ever!

Hello Amir,
This one is a basic palazzo, only closing the darts, but if you want even wider at the bottom, you simply have to open more at the bottom holding your pivoting point at the waist.
1. From this one, trace 2 to 3 lines from the waist to the bottom.

Hello Pooja, to make a pull on pants, you need to make the waist the same measure as the hip. Than add twice the width of the elastic over the waist. Diane
Diane Deziel I have made a palazzo pattern like you. So can you tell me exactly what kind of waistband should I prefer in these palazzo ?
For this one, you could do a waist facing or a waist band, but you need to sew a zipper, the easiest would be an invisible at center back. Diane
Diane Deziel Thank you. But how will I take measurement of waistband?
Why did you not add the same amount to the side seams ?
I could have, but I wanted to show the maximum (without flaired)
For strait pants, always the same amount.
👏👏👏💟💚
