    For years, I was sewing “in the dark.” A size 12-14 pattern fit me well simply adjusting the hip by 1-2 inches. That was years ago. Now, I’m old and forget the nice sewing days. I totally stopped sewing for me because I had no idea how to fit a pattern. Then I found you! Thank God! I’m sewing for myself once more and fitting isn’t scary any more! Thank you, thank you!

    Can't wait for the waistband. I really want lots of palzzo pants for the summer to keep cool. Being plus sized gets frustrating finding the perfect fit.

    Love these pants. I have a great piece of material that is very summery. I want two make these pants. I plan on pairing them with a tee with parts of the pants material appliqued around the neck. Can't wait to start.

    I love these. They look amazing both ways but that Tshirt you made a while back goes perfectly with the pants. I know it wasn't but it looks like it was made for the pants.

    My town only has a Hobby Lobby, it's 45 minutes to the nearest Joanne's, and I have a tank top out of that fabric. I've gotten compliments on that fabric by local plant lovers like me.

    Oh that was lovely. I’ve been making my own trousers for decades, but I learned so many new little tricks today. Thank you for that. Beautiful fabric and stunning pattern make these wide leg pants so gorgeous. They look equally stylish with the formal white shirt and with the t shirt. Amazing. Your channel is such a treat for us sewing friends ❤❤❤

    I made these pants out of a drapey polyester sheet I got at a thrift shop, as a test garment. They turned out beautifully! Now I’ll try them in “real” fabric. But I might wear the sheet pants at home in the summer, ha ha!

    Thank you so much for this video! I discovered palazzo pants last summer and spent almost a year scouring TH-cam for a tutorial to make my own. The videos I found seemed so over-complicated for such a simple style. I had to revisit your basic pant pattern tutorial, but I was determined to make these pants and I was able to discover where I needed to make adjustments to my measurements to make the basic pant pattern actually work. (My first couple of attempts weren't very successful previously, so I gave up.)
    I love the fact that your waistband is stretchy and comfy, because the other videos I watched involved a fitted waist with buttons and zippers and there was no way I was going to give up the comfort of this style by restricting my waist!
    So now, I'm confidently crafting palazzo pants and will be able to use the basic pant pattern for future styles.
    Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!!

    Oh Alisa … these pants are beautiful and so stylish; perfect for my holiday to Greece. When I see how expensive these are in the shops and knowing I have to chop off most of the length as only 4ft 11, I can now make my own! You are a true inspiration and thank you so much for sharing your talent with us all.

    I just wanted to say that making relatively short videos and referencing more in-depth videos you've done in the past for the same concepts is really smart. I've been sewing a long time, and I don't need detailed steps, I find a lot of sewing videos too detailed/slow and a few I find myself thinking "wait, what did they do? How did that work?"
    F
    Also, for the French seamed pockets, the way you did them looks so much simpler than how I was taught. I've been wanting to make some wool trousers with French seamed pockets, but I've been fretting over the idea of messing up one of the dozen or so steps. (They are drop front, so they do need to be a bit more complicated, but not by that much.)

    What a delightful young lady you are! Q: My ready wear Palazzos apparently had the waist area folded down about an inch (kind of like creating a hem) and sewn into the waist line. They are super functional (the fabric has great stretch). Would like to know your thoughts on this in comparison to adding a separate waist band. Thanks!

    I love this fabric and pants. When you pre-wash new fabric so you zigzag or serge it so it doesn't fray?

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Annie, hello there! I don't... unless it is fabric that really comes undone, like boucle-like, loosely woven linen, and I usually do it with silk... everything else I just wash, I usually only loose a tiny bit at the raw edges, but If I am short on fabric- oh yes, I will be getting that raw edge done, so I don't lose anymore fabric :)

    I have been wanting to try a pair of palazzo pants. They look so comfortable. However, all the palazzo pants I see around here are made out of polyester (plastic). Polyester is hot; but, it usually drapes well. I hate polyester. Your new palazzo pants look like they were made from woven, cotton fabric. Are they made from woven, cotton fabric? They don't look stiff or uncomfortable. They are perfect; they look great on you. Thank you for this video.

    How do you pre wash? I always get a big bundle of fabric.

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just a normal cycle, like I would wash the garment after if it all sewn.... But, on really brittle fabrics, like some boucles or similar - I serger the edge so that way it does not fray too much. But I barely ever do that on cotton...I hope this helps.

  • @dovaillancourt

    Very beautiful but I would have liked to see them all the way to the bottom to see how they drape. Could you post a picture somewhere and write in the link please ? My mother loves palazzo pants but she is plus size and I am wondering if I could make them for her and how they would fall on her. Also, do you have a video on flat felled seams ? Thank you for your simple videos.

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All links are in the description of the video. at 13:58 you see 90% of my leg length, that's how they drape :)

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In a few days, if I have a chance -I will take a full length picture, but I promise - it looks exactly the same as in the video. For the drape you have to think about the fabric, if you look at the other pair of pants and the beginning of the video, the ones I made in viscose, you see the drape there is different, so it really depends on the fabric. If not sure - make a text palazzo pants for your Mom and see how it fits, that way you know for sure and not wasting fabric and you can make adjustments instead of trying to figure out how to fix it with the fabric already cut out :)
