I love the overtly dramatic interactions of The Sopranos first season, like at 0:16 when Jimmy goes "Stubborn enough to go to WAR?!" and everyone just stops what they are doing to consider this.
I never did understand why Junior didn't get Tony's point when he Tony gave him the example of Augustus Caesar, where he explicitly stated "He shared his wealth, and all the people loved him for it," but he somehow *did* get it through that random-ass story about the father and son bull and the cows. Wasn't the Caesar story a lot clearer?? 🤨
Watching it now I find it hilarious and I think it's been played more to show junior's mental decline + humor for the show. Not only does Junior not understand the obvious example and miss the entire point, but he can't even remember HE TOLD Tony the bull story years ago. I really love the line "But why didn't you just come out with it instead of all this fucking Augustus Octavius shit." because Tony didn't come out with it and was still doing the exact opposite, he isn't speaking directly at all and just gave the random-ass story lol

Wish we got to see Larry Barrese more throughout the series. Tony Darrow actually spent time in the can as the show was airing or maybe we would have seen more. Same w the actor who played Albert, got busted in between seasons 4 & 5 & we never saw him again...we never saw him again.
This isn't factual. Although Darrow was charged with a crime and pleaded guilty to extortion for an incident that occurred in 2004, the charges were not brought until 2009 and official sentencing didn't occur until 2011. So the charges were 2 years after the show ended and sentencing was 4 years after the show ended. Finally, he was sentenced to 33 months of house arrest. So he was not in jail at the time of the show airing.
Because Jackie was still around. As soon as Tony took over, everything went to shit. Junior? He’s a demented old greedy man who clearly isn’t cut out to be boss. And Tony? It's also why the scene slowed and highlighted to it because it showed that Jimmy reacted quickly by trying to reach for the gun on his thigh holster but wasn't fast enough still.

I swear. It’s the early seasons that have this kind of feel. Like a certain air of grease and mafiosi. It was all subtle and real controlled feeling. Like every move had its own consequence. The show kind of lost that pizazz after a while. But it kept on being bad ass nonetheless
