The Slime Scholars are some of my favorite enemies in the game. They aren't very tough, but I love their design, the sounds they make, and the lore behind them.
Honestly I like the eerie vibe the lecture building gives compared to other areas. I think that's because after you kill all the enemies it feels so empty, almost like a liminal space and I love that.
Arriving in the lecture building for the first time was one of the most unsettling moments in my first playthrough. Just appearing in a silent school, not knowing what could happen next, and seeing the second floor, making it seem like it's huge was a really eerie moment
That's actually a really cool take on the LB. I think because when I played, I already knew it's purpose, it didn't hit as hard. But I bet blind, people are thinking "Excuse me?"
The Nightmare of Mensis spider room freaked me out too. I haven’t been creeped out by spiders in any other game until that image of walking into the chapel…
A thought that I just had that I'm sure others have thought before, maybe the lecture building WAS a part of Byrgenwerth, but because it's being drawn into the Nightmare it's been forcibly ripped through time and space away from it. It would make sense to me if at some point during development the locations were connected as well but as the game came along they wanted to split them for more transitional areas or something as well. It doesn't really change anything about them gameplay-wise, of course, but gives me a reason to think of why they're both so small relatively speaking.
from what i can tell, the lecture building was leftover assets from a time in development when Burgenworth was going to be a fully fleshed out level, Master Willem an actual npc & boss fight, etc. So the best thing I can aay about it is that it's a hint of what might have been, had bloodborne gotten another year or so of dev time. That and Auger of Ebrietas is a major, gameplay-changing pickup for 99 arcane builds - my favorite way to play bloodborne - & the Lecture Hall is slightly elevated in my memory just for being the place where you get it.
The Lecture Hall is a good blood echo farming spot for me. I equip runes that increase blood echoes and kill off the mass of Slime Scholars in the big classroom.
I’ve been doing a cross country drive and I’ve had your videos on queue for a large duration of the drives each day and I’ve made it my goal to find the pufferish “aeugh” you litter throughout each soulsborne video lmao
Im gonna be honest, nightmare frontier is overhated. If you go before rom, it's terrifying. You completely feel out of place and absolutely terrified to continue, something only bsb and gaping dragon have done in the past. Also, Amygdala is a super underrated boss
Very good Video, keep on the Hustle Edit the Hunter Trio at The unseen Village is the hardest fight for me in the Game, maybe the Duo before getting Lawrences Skull is a close second
The nicest things I can say about the lecture building is the easy farm with the fire sprayer in the room with 20+ slime bros. Also it's so short that it is forgettable and therefore not memorable.
It's easy early game to farm the Lecture building, just be in front of the door with all the scholars, and as they go through one by one you take them off and get thousands of blood echoes to buy ressources or leveling up! So, that's why I usually dont hate on that area but yes it should have been in Byrgenwerth instead of one small room with a hunter lol
Not gonna lie, you can just tell from the inhabitants of the lecture building’s faces that they have inhuman iq. They don’t need eyes on the inside, they don’t need insight some might say, all they need is that big, girthy, moist brain of theirs. If I visited the lecture building, I’d immediately transcend to the realms of yonder, the skies above. The lecture building is truly a masterpiece of level design. These mind blowing features make it w a y better than the stupid, dirty streets of central yharnam or the damp dingy landscapes of the fishing hamlet.
Lore wise, the lecture hall is the school of the healing church that evolved beyond the small school of byrgenwerth. They made that school bigger because "bigger is better" which goes perfectly with the lore stating that school is purely pretentious.
I like that the lecture hall area isn't such a huge deal honestly. It's not crazy punishing especially for if you go there right away then pops you out in the frontier. So like sure I like it for being a middle man for better areas but it's pretty good
Hunter: "Ohhh, if I survive the night, I might get me a waifu!" *talks to imposter* Hunter: " Por que!?" *falls to knees and wails dramatically into the sky*
Hey Billy, I just found your channel recently, and I’m curious: are you a member of the Snack Covenant? I don’t know if you’re interested in lore or not (I ADORE Bloodborne specifically) but they have some really cool and entertaining BB vids!
@@BillySYT it is! it’s called “Sinclair lore” and it has a more conversational, laid back tone (in most of their videos) compared to most other lore channels. And a lot of their older vids feature people like Redgrave (who wrote the Paleblood Hunt), Aegon of Astora, and other awesome people from the souls community! And they discuss more than just Bloodborne! Honestly one of my favorite channels on TH-cam but I have an entire armada of souls channel recommendations at the ready if it’s not up your alley :) Also, The Brother’s Code, while not really adding a ton of new information if you’re in too deep like I am, is another one I’d highly suggest!
Kinda pointless to say “new players will get destroyed by winter lanterns.” There are no “new” players who would even encounter a winter lantern. By this point in the game you are already over a dozen hours in and far from a beginner if you’ve made it that far.
Yharnam, one of gaming's best worlds to explore. What's your favourite memory of exploring Yharnam?
For me it’s gotta be either central yharnam or the fishing hamlet
Edit: I don’t get the hate for forbidden woods though

Oh, I love the liminal space angle. Nice!

The Lecture Building is a good grinding spot. So there's that.
My favorite memory. The start of the game and just randomly walking i hit a bridge and from the top rope comes the Cleric Beast
the lecture hall is great for farming any extra blood echoes you may need
Im so glad for it, I was finally able to stop farming for vials
The Nightmare of Mensis spider room freaked me out too. I haven’t been creeped out by spiders in any other game until that image of walking into the chapel…

the best part about the lecture building is the chapel giant with fire hands, i wish he was in more areas in the game

Just look up pufferfish eating celery meme lol
Something good of the lecture building
I used the slug students to Farm
And it could be a nightmarish memory of micolash

Just got past Blood-Starved Beast in my BL4 run because I'm a masochistic sap!
Praying for you. I haven't done a challenge run myself, but one day. ONE DAY!
@@BillySYT I recommend DS1 lvl1 run. Some bosses are just the pits, but that one seemed very manageable... please take that with a grain of salt haha
Very good Video, keep on the Hustle

Especially with extra xp runes, you can get 22k in one run

The Miccolash sound effect at 10:40 *chefs kiss*
lovely video! surprised it doesn't have more views, honestly
Ah, thanks for the kind words! Be sure to check out Part 2 if you haven't yet ;D
Lecture building is good for farming area to level up or buy stuff😊

Lecture building is the best farming spot in the game. But it should be in Bergenworth
my defence of the lecture hall: slime scholar sexy
Those mouths tho

Not sure what the Snack Covenant is, no. If it's a channel on TH-cam, I can take a look when I have some free time ^^
