Can you put your custom map in the comments? A screenshot of the TH-cam was too blurry. One thing I figured out this winter was you can also edit the fuel %, ignition %, and RPM. So instead of leaving the ignition at 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80% you can customize it to something like 5%, 15%, 30%, and 60%.

I just got it 2022 250f... only rode the bike about an hour-and-a-half never mess with the power tuner yet the question I have is doesn't only work on Wi-Fi?? How do you change Maps when you're at the track or in the woods? Thanks for the video awesome
I don’t remember if the 2022 YZ250F has the button on the handle bars that allows you to switch from 2 maps. The 2022 YZ450F does. Yes it only works off of Wi-Fi from your phone, no cell service or internet needed. You down load either pre-programmed or you can customize as many maps as you want. In order to upload the maps from your phone, you’ll have to stop and upload different maps from your phone. If you have the button on the handle bars that changes from clear to blue, that means that you can have two maps already stored in the bike that you can change on the fly by holding the button down for a second or two
While I understand the novelty and practical benefits of being able to fine-tune the bike, as soon as I found out about the app in a review video for the 2024 YZ250F, I immediately lost a lot of enthusiasm for the bike. I would rather have a one-tune-fits-all solution where I'm ignorantly confident in Yamaha's pre-set tune. Or, install an old-school chip tune/flash to noticeably improve every aspect of the bike's performance. Set it and forget it. I don't want to mess around on my phone... I just wanna ride. I like simple. I just want to keep it on one map whether I'm riding trail, track, gravel roads, mud, or jumping grass hills on the farm. I don't trust myself to play around with all the individual parameters; but I also don't want to miss out on the bike's performance potential. So my question is, do you think it's sufficient to just get the bike and ride the hell out of it in all conditions, without ever touching the app? Or should I just set it to the MX Power Feeling Map and never touch it again? Or...is that the map it's set to by default? Cheers
Great question. I’ve had a 2019 YZ450FX, a 2022 YZ450F, and now I also have a 2023 KTM 450SFX FE with a vortex ECU from Twisted. With the KTM, there’s two maps that I really like, that Jamie mapped for me. I use those two maps 95% of the time. On my YZ450F I use the Magic or the TP5 map most of the time. Those are both hard hitting maps, so when it’s really muddy, or dusty to where there’s very little traction, I’ll use the smooth linear map. I’ve also ridden a friends YZ250FX, and the wrong map on that bike will make it feel very herky jerky on the throttle. To answer your question, I would listen to guys like Kris Keefer, or Travis Preston, that have devoted time in to building the best maps for that bike. Once you find a map you like, if you feel the need to tweak anything, make a copy of that map, and then start tweaking it until you like it. The app really is a game changer. Test a few different maps to see how different the bike can feel.

My 22 250fx has about 3 hours of slow technical high altitude singletrack on it with the linear tq, and hard pack "position 2 only" maps. No fouling, plug looks clean as can be.
