This should be shown in journalism classes on how NOT to interview someone. I really hate it when the person who is being interviewed is trying to talk, but the interviewer just keeps on interrupting. It’s very rude and unprofessional, and common sense would tell most people that once someone finishes saying what they want to say, then it’s your turn to talk.

The program is called Conflict Zone for a very obvious reason and all his guests understand what they are getting into, so maybe it is time for you to get that clear in your own mind and not look for some false notion of pure objective journalism. There is certainly a value in putting everyone in the hot seat so to speak and watch them try to respond with real arguments. Whether you agree with Barak or not we can all clearly see that he was able to withstand and push back effectively.

It’s obvious that Mr. Sebastian supports Israel. That’s not in question. He is simply trying to be as impartial as possible. The rest of the mainstream media does really softball interviews that are really good for nothing. Politicians must be challenged and held to account even if it can become uncomfortable at times.

Pan-Arab, Moroccan dictator Hassan 2 has helped Israel before the 1967 war by giving the Mossad the audio recording of the 1965 Arab summit that was held in Casablanca. In return, Israelis joined the assassination off a Mehdi Ben Barka who disappeared on 29 October 1965. He was a Moroccan politician, head of the left-wing National Union of Popular Forces (UNPF) and secretary of the Tricontinental Conference. An opponent of French Imperialism and King Hassan II, he "disappeared" in Paris in 1965.

We had no choice, they attacked Israel and we DEFEND OUR HOMELAND !
A day after the declaration of independence of the State of Israel, armies of five Arab countries, Egypt, Syria, Trans Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, invaded Israel. This marked the beginning of the War of Independence. Arab states have jointly waged four full scale wars against Israel:
    1948 War of Independence
    1956 Sinai War
    1967 Six Day War
    1973 Yom Kippur War
Despite the numerical superiority of the Arab armies, Israel defended itself each time and won. After each war Israeli army withdrew from most of the areas it captured (see maps). This is unprecedented in World history and shows Israel's willingness to reach peace even at the risk of fighting for its very existence each time anew.
Note that with Judea and Samaria Israel is only 40 miles wide. Thus, Israel can be crossed from the Mediterranean coast to the Eastern border at Jordan river within two hours of driving.

From the perspective of many Israelis, the dynamics of Israeli-Palestinian relations since the signing of the Oslo agreement confirmed their worst fears: that the Oslo process would give a militant enemy the tools and launching areas for bloodthirsty terrorist attacks against Israelis.
Very early on during the establishment of the security services of the Palestinian Authority, it was noted by Israeli observers that the number of Palestinians in arms and the types of armaments being brought into Palestinian Authority territory were significantly exceeding the limits established by the agreements. This led to the suspicion that Arafat was constructing an offensive army rather than a police force.
But the greatest Israeli anger was elicited by the fact that the Palestinian Authority was doing very little to prevent terrorist attacks emanating from its territory. It refused to take steps towards disarming terrorist militias, permitted terrorist organizations to operate open offices in its territory, and either refused to arrest terrorists or would adopt a policy of “revolving door” arrests-placing terrorists in prison for a handful of days and then releasing them.
As terrorist attacks against Israelis exacted a heavy toll in civilians killed and wounded, the entire conception that had been presented to Israelis - of the Oslo process creating efficient Palestinian security teams that would be better than Israeli soldiers in combating terrorism - collapsed. Palestinian explanations that they “couldn’t be expected to be collaborators and fight against their own people” rang hollow to Israeli ears in the face of civilian deaths.
Many incidents caused the Israeli public to wonder whether Arafat and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) had ever truly intended to lay down arms and seek negotiated peace agreements rather than armed struggle: immense arms supplies to the Palestinian Authority were made public; captured documents indicated Palestinian Authority support for terrorist infrastructures; and Palestinian policemen took up arms against Israeli soldiers. He's not very eloquent.. he means that if israel rules the entire west bank and they all vote in israeli elections. But nobody is planning that! The "palestinians" have their own elections. both in the west bank and gaza.

@@boliusabol822 i dont think so. He already agrees that the situation is close to apartheid. He says it with clear words. Having same election does not make an apartheid state.

@@Valkyri3Z Apartheid is a term used to refer to old south africa and to apply it elsewhere is a bit ambiguous. He has discussed his views on this before and I don't think you understood him. By apartheid he means a state without democracy by which he is referring specifically to majority vote. All the Israelis associated with Govt have solutions to avoid that occurrence. That's why he referred to a one state scenario. He is talking about if one state and one government. So he means very much about elections and where somebody is a citizen. You might have noticed that he's not very eloquent. Ehud Barak has never claimed for example that israeli hospitals don't treat arabs. And they do.

    • @Valkyri3Z
      @Valkyri3Z 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@boliusabol822 . Apartheid is a term that can be used for ANY state that discriminates people based on their color , race or ethnicity. There is no ambiguity there.None other than Nelsen Mandela has called Israel an apartheid state. Israel DOES treat Arabs Palestinians differently thetefore all major human rights organisation INCLUDING Israeli organisation calls Israel an Apartheid state.

    • @boliusabol822

@@Valkyri3Z BLM activists have been making riots in america claiming that america discriminates against them. So you could say they think america is an apartheid state if you play that game. Somebody called Tyrone may well have less opportunities for employment as people might have some prejudice. So that's all expected for any country. Under that definition of apartheid, all countries are. When people speak of "discrimination" they mean different things. There is no question that if a group in a minority rules over a group that is the majority then some may say oh that's apartheid because it can be said that the majority is discriminated against by not being represented in govt, or having others rule imposed on them, or as a parallel with apartheid south africa, and if you look at the context that is what ehud barak was talking about. I've seen him interviewed on it he has said it a few times about the numbers/demographics..
