I disagree with almost all of your opinions in this video, but it makes me sad that people were so mean over your takes on a video game. I hope you continue to play fire emblem, despite the toxic comments you received. Some people really need to touch grass if they're gonna get this upset over a different opinion on a game boy game. I promise there are good parts to the fire emblem fandom, please don't take the hate to heart.

Hey mate. I’m sorry if you’ve been getting hate from some of the more unreasonable fire emblem players. I’m a veteran of the gba fire emblem games myself, and I admit that I do have many different opinions than yours.
Most notably, I think you’re underselling the value most of the prepromoted units in this game have to offer. Have you seen the ridiculously high base stats of Marcus, Hawkeye, and Harken? Sure their growth rates aren’t usually good, and it might be considered a “waste” to use a stat booster on them, but just one speed wing on marcus or Hawkeye can be a world of difference.
Finally, I think you may have let personal experience/bias affect the placements too much. It’s important to remember that you can’t really factor in character personality, lore, background, or other non gameplay aspects of a character. Personal experiences cannot be used to rank a character effectively as each player has their own play style as well as RNG affecting character level ups
Some of us straight up view pre-promotes as crutches.
For me they're characters to help me until I'm experienced enough to go without them
@jacksonhorrocks4281 I mean sure, but the point of a tier list is to have the characters which allow you to play the game in either the easiest or the fastest way. In both scenarios prepremotes being "crutches" does nothing to reduce their placement. If you're judging characters by how easy they make the game of course a charcter who is so good at this they become considered a crutch of course they're going to be placed highly. In a speed context, well it's not even a discussion. Using Marcus in the early to mid game is likely going to save you 30+ turns, whereas late game giving that exp and investment to someone else will save you at most like 10 turns.
@@lancestriker0111 Well actually that point you invented is completely arbitrary, as you can see the video is just called 'Ranking every Fire Emblem 7 character', not 'Ranking FE7 characters based upon speed or LTC'. He can decide any reason to put any character anywhere, maybe he like that Rebecca has green hair and puts her S, it's valid because it's his fucking tierlist.
@@MoaciC In the begining at 0:23 he states that he's ranking the units based on what he thinks is most optimal. If he was just tiering based on what he liked only some true jackasses would take issue with the video. But he made it clear with several statements throughout both the intro and the descriptions of the tiers that this video is based on what he thought were the best units to use throughout the game and he at the very least heavily implied that it was based purely on gameplay ( 1:18 ). I think at least that he made it clear with his intro that this wasn't a video about what units were the most fun or best for him, but rather what units were the best for anyone playing the game. What constitutes a good unit is up to debate but generally the community agrees that it's either units that make the game easier or units that allow you to go through the game faster. If he was using some other metric he really should have explained it at the beginning of the video because as is that is not clear at all.
To bring this up, I am not defending the way some of the people in this comment section have acted. Saying "This is one of the most atrocious Fire Emblem tier lists I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve been in this community since 2014 so that’s not something I say lightly." is fucking toxic. But, because he said that this was based on what he thought were the best units in terms of gameplay, I don't think it's wrong for people to disagree with his takes. If the comments were phrased "I don't agree because x, y, and z." and that was the majority of comments instead of "your takes are dumb, bad, and wrong" I don't think there would be any problems.

Notice how this definition completely leaves the meaning up to interpretation. Because just like Fire Emblem you can decide your own playstyle to interpretate.
Don't write me a paragraph when everything about your idea of what a tier list or what should be in it is completely arbitrary, much like the tier list itself.
Marcus is either S tier or low tier depending on the viewpoint of the tier maker. In my opinion he can go way farther than what is described here, but I think it’s a testimony to his presence how he can be a lot of things to a lot of people.
Anybody who’s playing: use Hawkeye and/or isadora. They’ve carried me, and I am way too stupid for fire emblem
Geez I’m shocked at all the toxic hate this video is getting. I love FE but the community is brutal. That aside I loved the video. While I might disagree with you on some placements it was still well thought out and I could follow your logic.

For me you should really give the context of how you rate units. I feel like you assume 20/20 max level units which is impossible to attain playing in a pace to keep your sanity. Your logic seems quite on the point some times with dancers and Priscilla for example, but I disagree so much with the other placements, it's like I went back in time to be honest cause I used to view the units similar to you. At least, you had the courage to make a tier list and explain it somewhat so the toxicity the commenters have shown is unbelievable. IMO you should refrain from phrases like "take my word for it, ot trust me" when you have so much to learn for the game yourself, not for the haters, but to be respected by the viewer. Keep strong at what you're doing, I'd like to see your new tier list in 3-4 years. FE needs more love and fame.
This is one of the most atrocious Fire Emblem tier lists I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve been in this community since 2014 so that’s not something I say lightly.
I’m way to lazy to point everything that’s wrong but I’ll mention the most terrible placements
- Canas: he is good but nowhere near the best unit in the game, he has shaky speed and isn’t particularly impressive outside of Luna usage
- Hector: I can understand why a noob would place him there, but his permanent 5 move really screws him over especially since he is so heavy he is hard to rescue
- Lyn and Eliwood: sword locked before promotion and can’t do anything aside from using their personal weapons. They are frail as well, which especially sucks since they are game over conditions
- Wil and Rebecca: archers with garbage bases in a game where bows have really low stats, need I say more ?
- Nino: the fact that she is on the same tier as Harken, a unit with endgame viable bases is moronic. She needs stupid amounts of babying just to get a slightly better Pent/Erk, absolutely garbage unit
- Bartre: his base speed is soooo bad
- Hawkey: how is he in any way worse than Bartre aside from availability ? Real question
- Marcus: worse placement in the video by a significant margin. Marcus is godlike, he can solo every single map until mid game, at which point he’ll start to fall off a little, but even then he’ll remain one of your best units simply for being a bulky Paladin with amazing weapon ranks
- Isadora: yes she’s way worse than Marcus but come on a Paladin in the gba games is literally incapable of being downright terrible.
I mean one could argue that you either baby and train units or get 'babied' by prepromotes.

Don't follow this tier list it is actually the worst one I've seen considering all the current information we know. Watch Mekkah's character guide instead, even though it's for hector hard mode, which isn't what new players are going to be playing, it's still much better than this dumpsterfire of a video.

Thanks for the positive vibes! I was a bit surprised too at how, let's say forceful, people's opinions are, but that's the beauty of a game like Fire Emblem. People can have personalized play styles that work for them and make the game feel unique, I just happen to like one of the worst classes in the game 😁

This guy likely plays with save states or excessive resetting which would explain his bias towards growth units and his disdain for prepromotes.
@@Psyche_Up and he tried to justify archers being good for having precision. What's the point of an 100% hit if they only do 3 damage and get doubled?

@@Psyche_Up I should've kept Marcus in C-tier given the criteria that I laid out at the beginning given his utility, but I don't think he should be higher than that. Post-Whereabouts Unknown, there isn't a chapter where he's enough better than Kent, Sain or even Lowen that I'd want to bring him in.
I'm curious why Hawkeye is considered an All-star, I like big crits as much as anyone, but I'm struggling to think of any chapters that he's markedly better than anyone else to warrant the title of "champion".
I don't use save states when I play, but I do reset the chapter if a unit dies.
@@bigoof6369 Yeah, I know I put the archers higher than I should, personal preference be damned. Rebecca should be a fair bit lower, but none of the archers have bad enough speed to be doubled and Wil/Rath are never doing 3 damage.
There is a fairly easy way to get Nino going from Lv. 5 Mage to all-powerful slaughterhouse:
When you get her, give Nino the Afa's Drops, and at least 1 Body Ring. In Ch 26x-Night of Farewells, make use of the Mine glitch and use Oswin as a disarmed wall to hold back enemy units while Nino pecks at them, and use Ninian to let her move again. It'll be a bit tedious, but I was able to get Nino to Lv. 20 fairly easily. Then you promote her to a Sage.
Done this way, you get a broken unit that gives you the added advantage of being able to give you the narrative payoff by being able to 1v1 Sonia.
Isadora does not deserve to be at f tier(no hate just my opinion)
