- DRAG RACE between Toyota GR Yaris vs Volkswagen golf GTI Clubsport S vs slightly tuned Toyota GR Yaris. We take the new GR yaris and put it against the rare 1 of 400 Golf GTI clubsport S's. The power odds are slightly in the Golfs favour so we decided to bring a slightly tuned Toyota GR as well, however we were very surprised at the results. Don't forget to like and subscribe:)

Who ever tuned the GR didn't do a very good job. It lost all the races.
It's tuned for more of a track setup, which isn't good for drag racing. We'll do another test on the track between the tuned Yaris and the Clubsport S

All the GR needs is an Eventuri intake, gaining 15hp. If the tuned GR only had that then he would have left the standard and the golf behind (on 18s)
The way Eventuris are made excels. However ithink the sound of Integrated Engineering intakes for the Golf MK7 platform sounds among the best. (Though like most people iv just heard on youtube)
You can't be serious??? You honestly think the GR will overtake the Golf with just an Eventuri intake on??? Lol!
A 2nd drag race would have settled it. I think that driver bogged the start
VAG's EA888 motor is a powerhouse hence still used in the G8... those Yaris's didn't stand a chance.

@@CARdiacs Very cool! I own the standard GTI Clubsport with DSG. Its Stage 1 at present doing 360hp / 462 torque. (Shod easily be pushin over 400 on a Stage 2 tho) Just ordered invidia downpipe with highflow race cat. Already have Cobra Sport catback. Will get TVS Engineering DSG tune soon! Check build on ma channel! 👍

This is why I dnt understand why people compare the GR Yaris with the GTI,it is closer to Clubsport and similar in price,100k more than GTI

Tell those GR Yaris to come play with my standard Clubsport. It is Stage 1 at 360 hp 462 torque. Just ordered invidia downpipe. Also it have DSG so bye bye, esp as it will be tuned with TVS Engineering best of dsg specialists later. Might as well go Stage 2 ECU with then to, would hit well over 400 hp, and that Invidia dp is Torquey!! 😄 PS have the Cobra Sport catback already! Check build on ma channel 👍

Nice Video....... love how the Clubsport owner ignores the warning on the dash to close the windows. Clubsport S only comes in manual. Car is rated at 195kw and 213kw with overboost. Get it on a dyno and it will put down 230+ at the wheel all day. stock on stock the Clubsport wins all day. Tune for Tune the Clubsport wins all day.

Thank you🙏 the bigger wheels and harder suspension will be a disadvantage for drag racing compared to the stock car.. around a track would be a much different result

Car isn't designed for 19 inch wheels, whoever thought that was a good idea was wrong. Circuit pack with proper tuning will kill the Clubsport.

I have a 22 model Yaris gr and wan to upgrade the infotainment system. Which screen is that you have installed?
This is the standard one we got in South Africa, not sure why they were different to the rest of the world
Should try the Litchfield GR 300hp and does without the bigger wheels, would be a match for Golf

So spend the same money on the Golf and you will get sub 10 sec what your trying to say is the Yaris will be a great platform in the World Rally Field spend lots of money and it goes fast
What im trying to say is all these drag races track days etc should be about the stock car straight out of the dealership then see how good they all are not who has the more money to spend

The golf would of have to be stage 2 with dp plus with intercooler

Yeah odd it doesn't have a tune. You usually want a tune with a down pipe
Clubsport GTI has the Golf R motor and Is38 turbo instead of IS20 in normal GTI that's why it pulls so hard
Stage 2 clubsport will destroy stock GR.
