    No matter what password manager you use, make sure to periodically export your passwords to a local file (encrypted, of course). This will allow you to access your passwords in an emergency and immediately migrate to a new manager if needed.

    Imagus is one of my most favorite extensions of all time. It can enlarge any image or play any video simply by hovering over it and pressing a keybind and it also works on links as well.

      @Miguel_Noether 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eliotcole why getting algorithmed is bad?

    • @eliotcole
      @eliotcole 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Miguel_Noether because I don't like to have an algorithm push me down desired rabbit hole, mate. I only really come here for my subscriptions and to search for stuff.
      However, I *do* use the algorithm occasionally, so to ensure it's fully doing what I tell it to, I split my account into multiple "channels" ... I have:
      1. a channel for this stuff, gaming and, tech
      2. a channel for webdev and m365 engineering
      3. a channel for K-Pop
      4. a channel for comedy
      5. a channel for trailers (official only)
      6. a channel for my purchased content
      7. a channel for DIY and green tech
      This way, should I ever want to test TH-cam like a visual radio station, the playlists (algorithmic suggestions) will always be to the tastes I have fed to that channel.

    I run a number of extensions, but not as many as yourself, however one I've come to rely upon is Redirector in Firefox. It's a regex based URL manipulation tool.
    Say Amazon loads an item page with a ton of query and fragment information, but I just want it to be the id link, and on smile. Well I use this to automatically ensure that my URLs are smile links directly to the item.
    Samesame with reddit, but I make it to to old Reddit, and when images are loaded it goes to the largest size.

      I also use that and is a godsend. I began using it to fix Twitter links that were being sent broken to E-mail (because of an error from the e-mail client and you have to modify each link manually to make it functional), and with that extension I was able to use those links with no problems with the bonus of removing trackers.
      It's also useful for Shorts here on TH-cam, because I personally hate how you can't use the seekbar on shorts as opposed to normal videos but if you exchange the "shorts/" part of the link with "watch?v=" then you can play the Short as a normal video.

    My two favorites are TubeShift (checks to see if a YT video is available on Odysee, BitChute or Rumble) and Video Speed Controller (enables watching videos at more than 2x speed). If you have an older CPU that struggles to play YT videos, enhanced-h264ify forces all videos to play at 30fps in h264.

    The really essential ones I'd add for Chromium are SingleFile (neat HTML deferring extension, useful for highlighting persistent pages), Alternative to (by Saashub, really underrated; it shows you the top alternative services/apps to the one present in the page, if existent in their aggregator), Resource override (cause sidebar extensions just don't have zoom controls, so I force'em with CSS), Selection search (context menu based search tool) and Video dominator (compatible with most third-party video players and in overlay, even if it's DRMed. Those that have no media control just need to be enlightened.).

    I've been using Cookie AutoDelete by Kenny Do for several years now. It is a cookie manager, not just a cleaner. It allows me to whitelist websites where I want to keep cookies, so I can stay logged into email, web forums, and shopping sites. I can also whitelist banks, so they remember the "trust this browser" setting so I can just log in without needing to verify email and phone. For all other sites, you can set it to clear those cookies on shutdown or on a schedule. I added a list of news sites with pay walls that only allow me to view a few articles, to clear those cookies every hour.

    • @Frank-Thoresen
      @Frank-Thoresen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well you might not use Bitdefender forever and it might not let you export all the passwords so you can import them in a new password manager. He stated this in the video. He recommended a specialized password manager. I am using the free version of LastPass. The reputation (safety) of the service should be considered before you choose it as all your passwords will be in it.

    Hi Chris! Thanks for all your help with windows! I've learned alot! On your "Making the Best Windows ISO" video i went ahead and followed your directions and it worked great. NTLite is great software!
    Me and my brother are having an issue getting the Xbox App to open however, it will just close on after you click on it. I'm guessing the custom ISO must've deleted something that app is dependent on. Since its a "Gaming OS" i was a little sad to see this had not been functioning properly. Are there any solutions? All other app packages seem to be working, and i have searched every corner of the internet for a solution. Commented here so you'd be likely to see.

I asked him the same question but never got an answer so I usually reset my pc after installing a custom iso which brings some of the dependencies back and then install xbox to play games

    Ahoy, I use Chrome/Chromium in Windows and Linux on Celerons and ARM64. Essential for video playback on slower CPUs in h264ify extension. On most ARM64 SOCs is setting it to 30fps only. I also use uBlock Origin and AdBlock (block ads), "stop autoplay for youtube" (allows the page to fully load before video playback),, and Click&Clean and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials. Hey man. Love your videos!
    Could you make a video that covers everything you need to do to your pc/windows to optimize it for gaming and generally for using it? Like an ultimate optimization guide. Like what you should do with a fresh Windows install (and if we should use Windows 10 or 11). Because you seem like a trustable guy and an advanced one. It would really help me, because right now I am running with some issues on my pc (which is a decent one)and not the performance i want, when gaming (i am not sure why, but i think its either because i have a corrupted install or because I am using Windows 11 or because i did some tweaks i saw on videos on yt and maybe some tweak was wrong or sth, but the tweaks were from a trustable youtuber and it wasn't like a very strange tweak, it was like the tweaks on some of your videos, so idk) and I am thinking of resetting it. So you would really help if you do so. Thank you. (Sorry for bad English)

    AdBlocker Ultimate - blocks ads, js and user-chosen html elements
    Ghostery - blocks tracking scripts that ad blocker misses
    kaspersky protection - prevents accidental malware websitie visits and malware downloads. saved me a few times!
    Auto tab discard - puts tabs to "sleep" if inactivate for a while, helps save ram
    Session buddy - save open tabs to reopen them later
    Volume master - raise tab volume for quiet videos
    Stylebot - control a site's css
    View Image - returns "view image" option for google image search
    Allow CORS - for web testing
    Referer Control - for web testing
    for downloading streamed videos:
    Video DownloadHelper
    Stream Recorder
    Screen Recorder

    Great video, but you forgot a couple ;) personally, I would recommend Grammarly, Google translate and the all-mighty AdBlock Plus :)
