One more thing I like about Brave: I don't have to create an "account" with my email to use the sync feature. Just add the browser to your sync chain with a code sequence. No personal data stored.

"No personal data stored" , that's not true. ALL of your synced data is Personal, and it's in their cloud, together with each device-id. Whether it's paired with your e-mail or not is simply irrellevant.

First of all I use brave because it is open source and firefox has always been too slow for me. The thing I love most about Brave in the last months is the tab grouping. It is really handy for work, grouping all the different stuff I need every day, keeps me organized without any struggle or third party stuff.

Still better than ublock Origin Lite. Plus you still have custom element blocking, so you can remove ads or things you don't like easily like ublock origin. Also the effectiveness of the adblock normally depends on which lists you subscribe to.

First of all, all 3rd party extensions can be dangerous and invade your privacy, you literally have to trust the owner of that addon with all your browsing data, especially adblockers which can see everything on every website you visit. Having the functionality built-in in the browser has a bunch of advantages besides skipping the 30secs that might take you to install an extension.
And second there's people who just don't want to install extensions period, for many reasons but normally because they can be attack vectors, they fingerprint you and you have to trust a random, unlike trusting the people behind your open source browser, which you are already trusting by using their browser anyways.

@@hackerunknown2000 It doesn't sound to me like you've earned your pseudonym - otherwise you'd know that running Chrome on your phone means Google applications and, more specifically, Google Play Services is installed which then means your phone is nothing more than a tracking device for Google to see where you are (to an accuracy of 2 meters) at all times and to know exactly what you are doing at all times also.
Personally, completely sacrificing one's privacy for slightly better video quality doesn't seem like a particularly good deal to me - but each to his own.

@@terrydaktyllus1320 Well, that sounds completely unrelated to what I was talking about but anyways... You're right, I just picked this pseudonym at random without much thought since it's just one of the many secondary email IDs I use. And about using Chrome or Google services, well, on a smartphone unless you're using a custom ROM (which I don't), Google Play Services and various other Google stuff are just unavoidable. TH-cam is also owned by Google and we are both using it. And well, I don't use Chrome and still prefer Brave, I just wanted to know if it was possible to view webpages with higher refresh rate support on Brave with maybe some tweaks of some kind. Though, if due to Manifest V3 the ad blocking stops working for Brave or is no longer efficient anymore I plan to completely switch to Firefox, which also gives better frame rates.

I never really messed with blockers, but I saw Brave being used (and described) on Timcast once, and decided to give it a try. Holy smokes, you don't know how unbearable the with-ads experience is until you use a blocker! Downloading mods for Stardew Valley on Nexus, for example, takes 5 seconds with a blocker, and without you're playing ad whack-a-mole for over a minute just trying to click the links and buttons on the damn page. There really needs to be a better alternative to intrusive ad supported content, it's gotten out of control.

Are the problems just minor annoyances of appearance ? I have tried to do my own research, but I can't find any solid proof of which apps work better on GTK4. I do see that in order for an app to port over to
GTK4 that it must be on at least Version 3.24 of GTK3. And that the developer of the app has to learn all sorts of new rules regarding
GTK4 about what they can not have in their code. I do realize that GIMP is one of the major programs that hasn't published a stable version using GTK3 yet. But are any other Gnome apps, that far behind ? Are any of the core apps that will be in Gnome 47 still needing GTK3 ??

It is subjective. I like Firefox, but for me, it has more issues than Brave and I do use both a lot. The native ad blocker in Brave is built from scratch, but based on UBO and works in the same fashion. Also, if you like, they are maintaining MV2 and have a special repository to still be able to install the most common MV2 extensions, including UBO, if you prefer to use that. I have my issues with Brave, but it is pretty clear they have done way more work for the user side than Firefox has over the last 5 years.
