    Thank you Chris for sharing your submission. I've been a collector a long time and I've decided to stop grading due to the ridiculous nonsense PSA puts people through. But for those who do grade this is a viable piece of information to help them along the way. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and experiences along the way. You're the best card content online.

    I wish I could do that every month...

    Congrats on the Ripkens!! I recently had a tough late-90s Elway insert gem at PSA (very unexpectedly, I might add 😂) so I can definitely relate to your excitement! 10s are nice... but 10s on PC cards are unmatched 🔥🔥

    Sweet return.... As a collector that collects Jeremy Roeinck and Denis Savard (or any Blackhawks in general) - it's really awesome when you can find a unique card to add to your PC, lol.... But look, I have so much inventory I need to send out to be slabbed, I'm just not comfortable with the fees quite yet,,, I mean I have a ton of really nice vintage baseball - Hof'ers and SP's from the 60's and early 70's that need to be slabbed..... Over the last month or so I've really just taken a bit of a "technology break" just so I can spend time with friends and family, so I have taken a break from the "selling/trading" side of the hobby however I'm looking forward to get back into my rhythm.... I have to get back into the game and post some cards up, haha..... Happy New Years guys... We'll see how it goes in 2023 folks!

    The other issue that doesn't get covered here is that a $30 card has $3 in fees to sell at 10% but a $100 card costs you $10 to sell so it can be more expensive to sell the more expensive cards.

I mainly submit for my Pete Alonso registry, about 70% of the sub is Alonso, and the rest cards I hope to sell to pay for the sub, cards I get from the random pack opening or good deals off of eBay. Surprised your Cal collection is so specific, I would think you may appreciate well designed on-card autographs and quality patch cards using authentication stickers and game-used bat knobs. • @billgober2
    @billgober2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm not sure why anyone is sending in stuff at the $30 level unless it's a $200 card. I bulk submit most of mine in the $15-$17 range and just don't put claimed value as a high amount. They take them all it doesn't matter what you put on the sheet for a value.

    • @billgober2
      @billgober2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also to clarify I spend $2-$10 on some raw cards send them in for $17 shipping included so I'm never into the card for more than $27. Usually I'm into the card for $20. So if it comes back a 9 and it's worth $30-$50 at a sell price I'm already ahead. That's the way to keep from just breaking even on 9s.

    Nice sub! Chris, thoughts on doing your pre-grade on a .5 scale? It's a real challenge, and it helps separate the 9s and 10s. I do a similar range, but somethign like "9/9.5" or "9.5/10".

    • @collectorinvestordealer
      @collectorinvestordealer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats a pretty good idea. Only issue is that PSA essentially never gives out .5s at any level.

    • @ImGigantor
      @ImGigantor ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@collectorinvestordealer Agreed, rarely do they give them out. Not really looking for the pre-grade to match what PSA grades. It's just helped me remember cards that were shaded more toward a 9 or more toward a 10. Or even more important between grades on vintage between 7-8-9.

      From what I understand, there is a 1998 Score Rookie&Traded 1/1, and a 1998 Score Showcase Rookie&Traded 1/1. The cards look very similar, so there are basically 2 similar 1/1s of each card in the set. One of the Ripkens is labelled incorrectly since they are both labeled as not the showcase.

      Pele is the hands down the goat. I do think Messi put himself at num 2 solidly. Much like lebron when he gets the highest ever scorer passing kareem in nba, but still two... after mj whobi think is the goat.. just my humble though. Od have thought lebron coming in as young, all those walks to the Finals in the east 9i think (had to add a season w all playoff stats), and the fact of zero defense to speak of like in the 90s on inside or hand check. Usually younger people tend to overlook the defense side of ball, everyone is getting 40, 50, 60 point games. They think it's so much better hut are lost in the fact of zero defense. In which mj was solid A, A+
      It'll be interesting to see how much he the sentiment changes after he takes that in the public. Most people don't actually watch, now or then tho. And as time goes by less people will have actually seen both mj and lebron in their prime/whole career so the numbers I think will eventually erode the eye test

    I saw a tutorial video on psa graded where they show psa adding shipping and Insurance on the checkout at the end. But it's not clear to me if that was for both ways or only for psa to send it back to you. I've never done one before but looking to do my first psa submission. Do you need to calculate your own shipping and Insurance when you send it to psa? If so how do you go about doing that part? Thanks in advance.

      The shipping/insurance they calculate is only for the return shipping. You separately also have to pay to ship it to them.

    Is your raw value based on your cost or how is that determined? Is eBay your preferred platform ?

      I did a rough estimate based on recent sales. I use a bunch of buying/selling platforms, including ebay. My favorite would probably be COMC

      @@collectorinvestordealer There must be some deals to be had on COMC as I looked at comps and was wondering where your hidden ball trick was coming from. Appreciate the videos.

    I know your keeping the 1 of 1 Ripken but if someone offered $10,000.00 would you sell? I'm not offering just asking. LOL

      @@collectorinvestordealer I Didn't even know they made 1 of 1's in that product so early on. I think 10k for this card would be a bargain compared to a lot of these ultra modern prospects to 25, 50 and 99. Put it on Ebay for 20k. :)

    13:10 Am I missing something? Why do you keep saying Junior Griffey?

      "Junior Griffey" is a way people sometimes referred to him

    I tried watching this video with an open mind, I submit cards every month and definitely do not pay $35, and definitely do not pay full price "RAW" value so you are behind the 8 ball right there. Your value for final sales are way off or you are using eBay sales, regardless I consider you a novice/amateur at the art of flipping!!
