These days, AMG is an absolute juggernaut. It's the performance division of a world-class automaker, the driving force behind years of F1 dominance, and they are one of the best engine builders out there. Now in the 80s Mercedes and AMG were two different companies. AMG was a tuning house specializing in building and tuning engines, later expanding into customizing Mercedes-Benz vehicles and producing unofficial accessory and upgrade packs.
With that said, this machine AMG’s built back in 1989 - this is the 560 SEL AMG 6.0 - and it was and still is one of the most badass cars to ever come out of Germany. Now the normal Mercedes 560 SEC was already a beast for its time. At the time it was Mercedes most powerful production car. Powered by 5.6-litre V8 that made 275bhp and 336lb ft, But that’s before AMG got their hands on the car.
AMG took the 5.6 liter V8 from the 560 and completely rebuild the engine. They bored it out to 6.0 liters, modified crankshaft, added a set of AMG-exclusive, DOHC, four-valve heads, as well as a new intake and full exhaust. The result, well she went from producing 275hp to 380hp on top of that AMG managed to push the torque figure up to 410 ibs or 550nm from a naturally aspirated V8.
The increase in power meant that this new 560 SEC AMG would be able to complete the sprint from 0 to 60 in just under 6 seconds which is also around a second faster than the normal 560SEC. Now a sub 6 second time is proper impressive for a big 1.8 ton manual car of the 80s.

I don't know much about Mercedes but I'm with ya. The 190 Evo II on Forza was always fun to "drive." This thing is super cool. I didn't know it existed until I bought the Hot Wheels car yesterday.
That widebody 560SEC is in my top 10 favorite cars of all time.
I had a USA spec 560SEC and currently own a euro 500 SEC. The AMG'd SEC's are flat out beastly awesome.

A lot will say the AMG HAMMER is better, but this thing right here, to me, is beyond an absolute masterpiece.
The AMG 560SEL in dark paint is more gangster than the coupe plus it is luxurious for rear seat passengers - just so happens i own both so best of both worlds

One of my ultimate dream car , here in Adelaide South Australia 🇦🇺 I used to see a lot 560/600 AMG back in the 2010’s but they just disappeared I barely see one nowadays, I should’ve grab one when they used to be affordable ! KILLA KILLA Mercedes muscle car ! Sounds and looks great , Mercedes made some KILLA cars in the 70’s , 80’s and 90’s !

The only other really cool muscle cars out of Europe are the Aston Martin Vantage from the 80s and the Virage Vantage from the 90s.

The w124 or c124 AMG Hammer is more expansive in our days but I think the C126 560 6.0 SEC AMG is looking better. Ok the interior I like stock more!

It's not worth it to everyone, and that's valid. But no way in hell a custom built car would appreciate in value, or would ever make your money back. The appeal of a car like this is you can own it, enjoy it, and sell it without a huge loss

Some of the wealthiest people I've ever met you would look at them and how they live and never know. And the majority of people you see flexing with a big house and expensive cars are actually buried in debt and not worth shit.
